I dig the theme tune.
Max Richter's "On the Nature of Daylight" from Arrival lead to it, and it's an awesome tune.

So, damn, from the comments here this seems like something worth watching.

I've only seen the first season and it was pretty bad. A show with huge delusions of grandeur. If this show was a person it would be someone like Trump.

Fuck off Almost everyone universally agrees that the second season is leagues better than the first, though I loved the first season.
Algren, you should watch it. It's amazing.

WTF?
The Leftovers is amazing. Season 2 was a near masterpiece of television, even if the first season was a little hit or miss.

Re: The Leftovers (HBO)
Axiom's post inspired me to go to IMDB message boards to nod my head in agreement with some more people don't like the Leftovers, and just realized they are no more I guess they wanted to take a stand against negative internet comments. I enjoyed going to them for the day after reaction to TV shows, and movie interpretations
Sean O'Neal / - / - 100 Adam Chitwood / - / - 100 Maureen Ryan / - / - 100 Sophie Gilbert / - / - 100 Kevin Fallon / - / - 100
5 out of 13 perfect scores come from people who never reviewed previous seasons, though it is safe to assume you would not be reviewing the show in its third season without watching it previously (thus easily assumed also liking the show very much). 2 came from people who have loved the show from the start. 5 came from people who have given the show really good reviews previously. Only one previous reviewer who reviewed every season so far came from mediocre to perfect score. So to sum it all up 12 out of 13 perfect scores obviously came from people who were fans from the start. And 2 out of 2 scores that are not perfect come from people who followed the show and really really liked the previous seasons 2.
So I still think my theory that reviews get inevitably better (and scarcer in numbers TLS3 - 15 reviews, TLS2 - 22 reviews, TLS1 - 42 reviews) for all shows as seasons go on for the pure fact that people who didn't like them won't bother to review the future seasons (as it would require to watch the whole season or all the episodes they get to give a fair review), yet people who did will probably be much easier on the show as they got to know the characters thus giving even slightly more favorable reviews than what they would usually give for a fresh show.
Now of course a show can get better as they find they groove and they usually do, but come on... That's why I rarely bother with reviews post seasons 2. They seem way to biased and non representative of the actual quality of the show.

tl; dr - I can't help. I didn't read it, either.
Cannot wait for the season premiere tomorrow night. This series is epic.

Also, I really hope Liv Tyler isn't dead. I'd be shocked if she was. Her performance last season was so amazing and made me view her in a completely different light as an actress.

Wild, wild premiere. Instantly revived those Leftovers questions and feelings. I cannot wait to see the next seven episodes.

This season is definitely the best of the Leftovers I've seen, I enjoyed the Carrie Coon show last episode.

Yeah, Carrie Coon never fails to deliver. Her scene with Regina King was so great.
Also, the years have not been kind to Brett Butler, but I suppose that's to be expected.

Re: The Leftovers (HBO)
It felt a bit strange, in a way, to spend an hour exclusively with Kevin, Sr., particularly after his minimal involvement in season two. But at the same time, an incredibly atmospheric, grim, surreal hour of television. More excellence from the Leftovers team.

Not my favorite episode but it was undeniably well-done and stunningly acted, particularly by Lindsay Duncan. Also set things up very well for the final stretch.

This is one of the most beautiful closing shots I've ever seen in a TV episode:
I really wish more people actually knew how flat out incredible this show is.
