And if we get Mike, it is very likely that we'll get Gus.

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
Gus would make for a great guest star down the road.
I'm really glad to see Mike being a part of this. The potential between these two characters is big. And plus this gives Banks another chance at that Emmy that was stolen from him.
Of course, this all hinges on the fact that the show doesn't completely suck.

Eh, still not sold on this. Feels like a cash-in to me. We'll see.

It's Vince Gilligan. I doubt it is a cash-in.

I'm getting a Lone Gunmen-to-X-Files vibe from this, and that's a great thing to me.

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
The series will premiere on February 8th and the second episode will be on February 9th (it will then be shown on Mondays). With the mid-season premiere of "TWD" as the lead-in, this will score HUGE ratings for the premiere. I wouldn't be surprised if the premiere will score as many viewers as the "Breaking Bad" series finale.

This is not related to Saul from Homeland, right?

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
Pretty good so far. Didn't expext that many Breaking Bad tie-ins actually - hopefully it finds away to break away from that and be its own show.
I am excited that his future life is going to play a part in this at least.

The cold open (Saul at Cinnabon!) was so good.
Overall, I thought the pilot was quite good. It feels like a different show than Breaking Bad which is important for carving out its own identity.

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
He's no WW, but he's pretty interesting on his own here so far. I loved the whole scene where he "lawyers" the brothers' death sentence down to just broken legs (one each!), and the look of disgust and fear on him afterwards.
I'm digging it so far. It doesn't take a whole lot to beat Breaking Bad in the earliest episodes, but it's off to a great start. And it's always fun to see Raymond Cruz play Tuco again.
My only concern, as is the concern of most, is where it goes from here. Can't keep having familiar BB faces show up.

I don't feel like hunting down the episode, so I'll ask it here: What was the reason Walt and Jesse went to see Saul?

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
Last episode was great. The talking toilet bit was one of the most hilarious moments on either "Breaking Bad" or "Better Call Saul".
I am talking to Michael McKean (Chuck) tomorrow, so if you've got any questions, fellas, shoot.

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
Oh wow, didn't even notice that. Would have been great to hear something related to how he has worked frequently now with Vince Gilligan on The X-Files, The Lone Gunmen and now Saul.
How was the interview?

 Re: "Better Call Saul" Thread
It was a shame Jonathan Banks wasn't nominated for his "Half Measures" speech to Walter on Breaking Bad. It was a crime Jonathan Banks didn't win the Emmy for his final episodes on Breaking Bad. It will be the biggest travesty of all time if he doesn't win for this. A terrific job, start-to-end, from a man long overdue for an award. Just a shame it's taken him so long in his career to find a defining role like this one. His love for Mike and for the shows is evident in every scene.
Vince and Co. had so many great Mike moments on Breaking Bad, but they never had one defining episode for the character to shine. I'm just really grateful they found a way to do it on BCS.
I just hope they continue to showcase Mike with Saul on the show. They make such a great pair. It's hard not to smile when they're in scenes together.
