 "Hostages" (Season 1)
A completely serialized thriller series (a rarity for CBS), "Hostages" stars Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott and has a 15-episode order. It will run uninterrupted through early winter and premieres Monday at 10PM. I was able to see the pilot early and found it surprisingly pretty riveting. I was definitely intrigued enough to want to know what happens next, and there were a bunch of twists I didn't expect. Also, the performances were great from the two leads. I plan on sticking with it. I'm all for CBS starting to embrace serialized programming too. It's about time.

It figures the two new dramas I'm most interested this season (this and The Blacklist) are on at the same time.

Looks interesting. CBS really does great drama when it wants. The Good Wife is one of the best show on air ever.

The pilot was a bit lighter than I was expecting but it set things up well for what is come. I can see the son's storyline adding annoying B-plots to the show as it goes on.

Agreed, I think I expected a little more...oomph. But it was fairly intriguing and Toni Collette is wonderful in everything.

I probably won't watch this anymore, with the bad ratings and the pretty trite storytelling so far. Poor Toni Collette.

 Re: "Hostages" (Season 1)
LOL this show is so ridiculous. I burst out laughing when the daughter said something to the effect of "Why didn't you just kill the President?" Also Peyton Sawyer from "One Tree Hill" showing up as a mistress I'm sure is going to be a psycho. And the ending with the friend getting killed - everything is just so over the top. Next week's episode looks fun too with Ellen finding out about Duncan's daughter I actually really want to know what happens next here which is more than I can say for most freshmen drama series this year.

 Re: "Hostages" (Season 1)
Last night's episode was good. I loved Toni Collette going to the daughter's school (by the way, this child is a TERRIBLE actor) and then the daughter drawing the picture with the FBI badge Also the big reveal at the end about Tate Donovan's affair.

I refuse to watch any more of this show but this review from AV Club of last night's episode is brilliant. http://www.avclub.com/articles/power-of ... on,103733/

 Re: "Hostages" (Season 1)
You sure turned on this fast Didn't you like the pilot? Anyways, this show is getting a bit of unfair criticism. Everyone is acting like it's taking itself SUPER seriously when it really isn't. It's goofy and entertaining in the same way that "Ringer" was
