Libs, I'm starting Scandal this very moment--hope you didn't screw me on this one

Haha sorry I missed this thread, I was away!

I hope you like Scandal. It really takes until season 2 for it to become the batshit crazy ball of wonder that it is, though.

I think we should all make threads when starting up on new shows.

Yeah so I'm five episodes in now and its really stupid but not unpleasant, I guess? On one hand, the show is like Leverage except I have no sense what the team member's individual skills are (they all seem next to useless, except Guillermo Diaz), and I'm pretty sure this show has no legal advisors (I think in episode three they tried to settle the CRIMINAL rape case with a money offer to the victim? What?! That was bananas, I couldn't even pay attention to the episode after that happened)

It's a place to talk to Libs without wading through lots of crap since she's clearly the best poster around

Keep watching. There's much less focus on the team members (other than Huck and I guess Quinn) in season 2. Also, Henry Ian Cusick isn't even in the show after the first season.

Season 2 is really serialized and they kinda drop the whole "scandal of the week" format minus a few exceptions. There's also much more screen time for Cyrus and Millie, who are played by actors who just seem to foam at the mouth/belong on Dynasty and IT'S GREAT.

I will agree that Cyrus is the most compelling player so far. All of that actor's line readings are slightly skewed, slightly unexpected...I like that guy.

Also, in what universe is this President a REPUBLICAN? Passing a DREAM Act, his chief of staff is gay...what is happening, show?!

I too have gotten started on Scandal! Two episodes into season 2 now, I'm enjoying it for the most part, though I'm excited to hear that it gets batshit crazy (what sold me was a comparison I read somewhere to 24, a show I miss when it was good).

Scandal's nuttiness really gets going in season 2, episode 7 ("Defiance") and doesn't really let up from there.

Awesome.

I am also excited to see how exactly Dan Bucatinsky got an Emmy nomination when all he's done so far is bitch to Jeff Perry about wanting a "fat drooling juicy baby."

I actually think his Emmy nomination was sort of weird, although James does have much more involvement coming up.

You're taking this topic off track, I want to talk about Scandal, not dumb ol' Powerpuff Girls. What is this, 2002?

They can pollute the thread, but they can't pollute it's spirit.

I'm up to episode 9 of season 2 now ("Blown Away").

Well that got crazy pretty quickly.

So you will only talk Scandal here, and not other tv stuff here?
