 The 'Nip/Tuck' Thread (Season 3)
Yes, better than LOST, Housewives (sorry I don't watch CSI).
I just finished watching Season 1 because I had never watched it. I had seen Season 2 when it gave from beginning to end, but never a season 1 episode. I watched it as it gave repeats on FX. One night I literally watched 7 straight hours of Nip/Tuck.
What an INCREDIBLE show. This show is nto only MASTERFULLY written but visually stunning and some of the best acting on TV now. The best episode and I think one of FINEST hours of television in the past several years is Episode 10: Adelle Coffin. This is the episode in which [major season 1 spoiler] Megan Ohara commits suicide, [/spoilers] one of the most emotional scenes I have ever seen. I cannot get over and cannot stop watching that episode (I rented out that volume of the season from Blockbuster). And the scene following... when Sean admits his infidelity. Whoever isn't watching this show is MISSING OUT!
I cannot wait till Season 3 in June and will probably edit this thread to make it a Season 3 thread (so don't delet this  )
Anyone else watch it?
What do you think?
Update....
I might as well turn this into the Season 3 Thread as it will start in one month exactly from today!

Cannot freaking wait for the 3rd season.
I watched Season 2 without seeing Season 1 and absolutely loved it. *points at avatar* I still haven't seen Season 1 unfortunatly, and I have missed a couple of episodes from Season 2... I definatly need to buy both seasons.

That's how I watched Nip/Tuck.... second season on T.V. Then in May of this year, I rented out the entire first season. The first season, though less polished than the second, is actually slightly better. One episode in particular just blew me away and now I think it was one of the finest hours of television. I thnk I've told this to you before. Anyway....
Can't Wait for Season 3... the new TV spots make it look really weird; I have no idea what it's going to be like!
I might as well make this the Season 3 Thread!

*****Slight Spoilers*****
The premiere was quite excellent. I had heard that we were supposed to know the identity of the Carver at the end of the episode but we don't and it doesn't look like we'll know for a while yet. That kind of sucks. I'd like to know already. I found the premiere both sexy and sad. I felt bad for Momma. I was hoping they'd be able to save her. I loved Sean for trying though. He's such a nice guy.
Anyway, it should be a great season.
*****End Slight Spoilers*****
I checked out season 1 when it hit DVD and found it absolutely GREAT! I then watched season 2 as it aired and while it was still great, unlike most, I was kind of disappointed by it. It wasn't as great as the first season anyway. This third season seems even better though.

The season has started, so this thread will be filled with spoilers and discussions...
Just finished watching the premiere. It was pretty good but a slightly underwhelming for an 11.5 month wait! The peoblem was that the surgery, for the first time was the main story and everything else was left on the backburner. It's usually the opposite way around and thus, much better paced, exciting, and engaging. It dodn't feel like Nip/Tuck.
However, I did get the vibe that it was only the premiere that would be that way. We should get back into normal Nip/Tuck mode soon. The season looks promising but I don't know if it will live up to the last 2 years.
by the way Mike, the identity of the carver will be revealed in the very last episode of the season. Said so straight from the horse's mouth (Ryan Murphy said in an interview in EW).
I think Season 1 was just astonishing, ground-breaking TV. It was so raw and original and that's what made it so amazing!
Season 2 was almost just as good. We got alot more drama out of the three and the lives they spun. Ava was no doubt an exceptional addition.
I can't wait for next week!

Exactly, the main story took the backseat. For an hour and a half special you expect alot more, I dont really like a few decision they're making with the plot, like with the detective being involved with Christian now, I mean common, atleast dont approach it so damn fast, wait awhile with that, also now they're gonna play out the whole carver story for the rest of this season, jeez I was thinking this whole episode will involve the carver and who he is, then move the story along to something new. Sorry to say I was anticipating the movie previews during the breaks of the show more then the show itself, it was really dissapointing, it felt like one of those few crappy episodes in the middle of a shows season. From the previews of this season it looks like it wont touch Season 1 & 2 at all, hopefully im wrong, but I dont know.

i definitley wanted the carver arc to end, and i feel as if the show wasn't as powerful as it was in years past. still good, but i wish it was more personal like others said.
is ava going to be back in the show? i remember seeing her in some preview for it, but she wasn't shown in the upcoming preview for the whole season.
i also hope the show doesn't get too outlandish and unrealistic. i can understand where the momma boone plotline came from, but i don't want stuff to get too weird [and it appeared it might from the previews] but it depends how they handle it. if they treat the cases as strange then it can work.
i think i have too high hopes for this season so i'm going to try and lessen my expectations.

Liked the premiere. The "Momma" storyline was interestingly different. Also, the show continues to be darkly funny in its dialogue along with eliciting laughs because of how risque it can be at times (You don't think they'll go through with something then they do and you say "I didn't just see what I thought I saw, did I?"). Rhona Mitra is very attractive, to say the least.

Well, finished watching a tape recording of the premire since I was busy.
Yeah... still my favorite current TV show. Shame that most of our regulars aren't watching.
Oh, and I liked the movie previews that took up most of the space for commercials. Hehe, actually watched em.

New episode tonight... I've got it programed so I'll watch it tomorrow.

Decent episode but not as good as the premiere. Goes a little too far with some of its material here. I will keep watching though because the cast is very good and the writing can be counted on to be solid most of the time. I heard the premiere was the highest rated telecast in the history of FX so obviously people are watching.

I'm one of the ones that wanted the Carver storyline to get wrapped up early on in this season so we could move on. I didn't want it to drag on. Oh well though, I guess I'll have to deal with it.
My thoughts on tonight's episode:
*****Spoilers*****
I felt really bad for the ape. I have no idea why they didn't have a tranq gun ready in case the male started to attack. Then they could have shot him with it before he killed her. It was really sad. The poor thing was cut by humans after they killed its mother and because of those damn people giving it that scar it was eventually killed for it. And I realized something; it seems every main surgery they do where I actually care about the patient they end up not making it. The show kills almost all of them off. Can't they get any of these more complicated surgeries right? I guess not. It sucks because every time I really like one of the patients I know they'll end up dying.
Matt is so disgusting. For one he's ugly and always has been. I can't look at him without thinking "Michael Jackson." But also he was just annoying tonight and an asshole. I wanted him to get his fucking ass severely beaten for beating up the transsexual, and thankfully he did. He should just get locked up in jail or something now. I can't stand him. I have no idea who would have cast this kid as Matt in the first place. He's just so freakin' ugly and it's distracting! Also, he looks even worse now with his head shaved. They should actually perform a surgery on him to give him a new face or something.
I liked toward the end with Julia and her mom getting high. That was cool.
****End Spoilers****

Yeah, Matt does look like MJ (something I've always thought) and he's obviously psychotic. They really should kill him off. Maybe he'll be The Carver's next victim?

I've always thought so too. How could you not think that? They could be twins.
I doubt they'll kill him off, at least not for a while, but I sure wouldn't mind. In fact, I'd be glad.

The thing that made the show so damn great the last two seasons is that they pushed boundaries yet made sure not to go over the top, now they're tiltiing it into the over the top category, sometimes I feel as though the writers were on LSD when they wrote some of this stuff.
