Post Yknow, Roseanne was a really good show
I've been watching a few reruns recently, and I honestly think it was a good show. It even made me emotional at some times.

Anyone out there like it as well? Thoughts?

Yes! I love watching re-runs of it. It's so white trash and yummy. I've never seen the series finale, though, and I hear it's awful.

It reminds me of Mr. X's life.

So full of fat women... and John Goodman

Yes it was a very well done sitcom until the last few years and also when John Goodman got tired of doing the show.

and a bit of trivia: Roseanne tried out for Married with Children, FOX, and filmed a pilot but wasn't picked. Then a year or two later, ABC came out with Roseanne which basically was a ripped off Married with Children but on network TV, ABC.

One of my favorite shows. Though the final season and the series finale totally blew. People disappointed with the resolution of Atonement probably hated the last episodes as well, LOL.

The last season was so bad I couldn't even get that far.

This show is funny, but I agree with others that the later seasons weren't very good. The series finale sucked..

Early Roseanne was brilliant, it stayed good through the middle seasons, but the later series (I think around the time original Becky returned) were bloody awful. It'd be nice for them to do a little one off special to catch up with everyone. After all, it's been over ten years since it went off the air.

Jesus, I feel old.

I used to watch Roseanne sometimes. Never consistently, but I vaguely recall watching it while doing homework and stuff in high school.

And, yes, the series finale was horrible. What a disastrous decision to make that the ending of a sitcom.

Oh, I agree with this wholeheartedly. This is definitely a top 5 show for me. It dealt with so many dang issues it's endless and I liked the "trueness" of the show and it's authenticity. Now the last couple seasons were way off but overall the show was top notch for me.

I'd hardly say it was a rip of Married with Children. They are pretty opposite other than both dealing with a family. MWC although being extremely hilarious at times never dealt with the type of issues that Roseanne dealt with.

True, Roseanne went further with those ideas but all I meant was Roseanne started off with the idea of MWC's disfuctional family. Which can't be agrued as Roseanne Barr and the late Sam Kinison were considered for the roles in MWC and also filmed a pilot.

Sam Kinison guest appeared in an episode of MWC anyway, right? I seem to remember him in it...
