 Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Ummm hello no Pushing Daisies thread.
So, I've been fully convinced by all the massively good buzz to watch.
It premieres tonight on ABC at 8 PM.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Since I've already seen it, I'm more excited/nervous about the ratings. And the second week.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
I think there are enormous expectations for those who haven't seen it and have followed the buzz. I really think some people are gonna be like "It wasn't THAT great" while otherwise they would have really liked it.
I think it was a very cute, original, fresh pilot with good chemistry. I don't think it was like the best thing I've seen in a long time. People shouldn't have their expectations so high.

Yeah, I agree. People shouldn't expect it to be the best thing they've ever seen.
But I'm not going to deny that it's the best pilot I've seen in a while.

I saw the pilot a month or two ago, loved it. I'll be watching it again tonight.
What do you guys think it'll get in ratings?

Around 14-15 Million, IMO.

Yeah, don't have high expectations, just know, if you don't like it, everyone else has already judge you to be too beneath the rest of us.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
I watched it last night (it aired on CTV last night in Canada), and I still love it. I find it funny, charming and refreshing. I don't really expect the show to be more than a quirky CSI fairy tale. So I probably won't be disappointed when it inevitably becomes that.
I've watched the show now with my mom and my dad, and they both seem to like it. My dad goes for this stuff more than my mom, though, so I don't expect her to watch it again.

I feel all dirty watching ABC, but the show peaked my interest.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Aw. I liked that a lot!
It was like Big Fish meets Waitress meets Stranger Than Fiction meets Dead Like Me meets Six Feet Under meets CSI or something. I don't even know. But I really really enjoyed it.

But I'm not going to deny that it's the best pilot I've seen in a while. You know what... I'd probably agree with that but I also think it sort of has to do with the fact that it plays out like a small film. I mean, the pilot is a pretty stand alone episode. A part of me is not even that interested in watching the series but I just thought the pilot on its own was fantastic. I know I'm not going to enjoy it being stretched out and then come to some hollwyood-type ending. I think it could have been a very cool miniseries.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
I loved it as well. It's easily the best new show of the fall. I hope it can keep up solid ratings (that is assuming it debuts to them). I'm not expecting it to do great ratings, but doing 9-11 Million (oh crap, I did not put 9-11 on purpose ) each week would be good for a show like this. I would be so disappointed if it doesn't last. It reminded me of WONDERFALLS, BIG FISH, and DEAD LIKE ME.

ABC now has an awesome lineup three nights during the week. Awesome show. Love the look of it.

I love it even more (third time watching it, first time on HDTV). The cinematography and the characters smiling to the camera reminds me of Amelie.

Pretty good show. Very quirky and very sweet. Reminds me of Dead Like Me,Northern Exposure and Ed mixed in. So far its the only new show I like

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Wow. That was awesome! You can tell it was done by Sonnenfeld. He used the same vibrant, whimsical look for the New Fantasy Island (which I absolutely adored).
I can't wait for the next episode. I have a new favorite show!
Oh, and kudos to TPTB for having Jim Dale as the narrator. He rocks!!!

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
YESSSS!!!! Now I hope it doesn't slip in viewership the coming weeks... Marc Berman wrote: In series-premiere news, ABC's critically applauded Pushing Daisies opened on a winning note, with a 9.0 rating/15 share in the metered markets from 8-9 p.m. Although that pales in comparison (in the overnights, that is) to Dancing With the Stars on the year-ago evening (12.3/19 on Oct. 4, 2006), it was still 20 percent above No. 2 time period occupant Deal or No Deal on NBC (7.5/12). And this is a solid start for Pushing Daisies.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
We'll see how it translates in the fast affiliates, but in the overnights, it's the second show of the night overall.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
What we really need to find out is how big the audience drop was at 8:30. 'Cause I'm really nervous about how this played to the average brain dead ABC viewer.
