FOX Football Crushes Tsunami Benefit on Saturday

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005.
NBC rounded up a star-studded cast of musical and celebrity talent for "Tsunami Aid: A Concert for Hope," but viewers decided that charity would take the back seat to playoff football and forensic repeats.
Overall, FOX averaged a 12.6 rating/21 share, easily outdistancing second place CBS' 6.9/12. Both networks' numbers are influenced by live events and thus are subject to change. ABC finished third on the night with a 4.7/8, leaving altruistic NBC in fourth with a 4.1/7.
FOX won the night among adults 18-49 as well, doing an 8.7 rating in the key demographic. CBS was second with a 3.5 and NBC moved up to third with a 2.0 rating. ABC trailed with a 1.5 rating.
Beginning at 8 p.m., FOX swept the night, starting with a 12.0/20 for the NFC match-up between the Falcons and the Rams. The late conclusion of the AFC game between Pittsburgh and New York boosted a repeat of "Cold Case" on CBS to a 7.8/13. ABC was third with coverage the national figure skating championship, beating the first hour of NBC's "Tsunami Aid," which had a 3.8/6.

I think what happened was that this telethon was to late,the people who they ask to donate money probably alrteady did a month before the show.
