The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Here we go again. Season 4 of lost will have 16 Episodes. From Spoilerfix: 01. 01/31/2008 - The Beginning of the End (Hurley) 02. 02/07/2008 - Confirmed Dead (Freighties) 03. 02/14/2008 - The Economist (Sayid) 04. 02/21/2008 - Eggtown (Kate) 05. 02/28/2008 - The Constant (Desmond) 06. 03/06/2008 - The Other Woman (Juliet) 07. 03/13/2008 - Ji Yeon (Sun/Jin) 08. 03/20/2008 - Meet Kevin Johnson (Michael) Unfilmed: 09. 04/28/2008 - Bakir10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. News: - Lost returns for Season 4 in February 2008 for 16 episodes. - Season 4 finishes shooting in March 2008. - Harold Perrineau is returning to Lost! Source: The Ausiello Report ( http://www.spoilerfix.com" target="_blank) - Might be one new character this season - Walt will be back. - Episodes will be mixed flashback, future, and no-flashback as the episode demands. - Season 3 is released on December 11th, DVD and Blu-Ray - According to http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com" target="_blank there may be some sort of webisodes (????) - Season 4 will feature the giant foot (SpoilerFix) - Season 4 will feature more Jacob (all sites) Characters: - Michael's story will be one of redemption and it will start earlier in the story. - Jack and Claire will discover their connection (Comic Con) - Alpret is likely gone off the show because of his committment to a CBS show. - Carlton: "It is our intention to get to Libby's story this year, and we think you will be happy when we finish that." - Damon: "There are important things going on in [Danielle's] story, and they have to sync up." They'll do that syncing in this season or next. - Damon: The whole deal with the monster will be definitely answered. Carlton: The monster answer is "not going to be 10 seconds of blank tape." - The promised [Dharma Film] clip is one of the station orientation films, hosted by Marvin Candle under an alias. The footage begins with him getting his makeup done and smoothing down his Dharma labcoat. Bunnies! It's about bunnies! Bunny #15, to be specific. Marvin, who calls himself Dr. Edgar Halifax in this film, identifies it as station six, the Orchid. He says the viewer has probably realized by now that he or she is not working at a mere botanical research unit. He apologizes for making him or her lie to friends and family members about the nature of the work. He mentions something that sounds like "Kasimir effect" and mentions the "unique properties of the Island." Then there's one of Jacob's subliminal messages. It may have been some variation on "as Jacob loves you." Then there's a bunny riot. One of the station's alarms blares, Dr. Halifax/Marvin panics. There's an intercut clip of someone riding a bicycle. The clip is inserted upside-down, and the rider appears to be in the village green of Otherville...And then, amid the chaos (perhaps this is the Incident?), the filmstrip slides off the reel.[/b] - There is more to Sawyer's and Kate's relationship (duh??) - Desmond will grapple with Charlie's death, (like wondering if he had not told him, Charlie would not have sacrificed himself and wondering if he could have got him out of the room, etc.) Sources: http://www.spoilerfix.com" target="_blank, http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com" target="_blank, and public info.

I've listened to the podcast posted on the SpoilersLost site. They seem to be happy with the idea that people don't know what form the show will take, the quote is something like "I know CSI is coming back next year and I know exactly what each episode will be like".
He also compares the series to Harry Potter in that the seasons have themes and that, like Rowling, they decided to tell fans that it would end at a certain time so they could set expectations so people could "limit their investment".
Also they are calling the fall web episodes "Mobisodes" I think it's like 2 minutes TV things through Verizon and AOL. Coming soon to YouTube probably. They are not going to be intregal to the story apparently.

Guy from Fargo is being sought after for the new character.
Theres also a rumor that Forest Whitaker has been invited to participate in the first two episodes of the season.

Peter Stormare?! Hey. That's John Abruzzi to all of you.
If he gets the job, I'll seriously die of excitement.

There's also a thing here: http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2007/0 ... nsure.html
About Nestor Carbonell, who played Alpert, the immortal other. Looks like he might not be able to make a Season 4 appearance.

Theory Time!
Was thinking about this. With the flash forwards and Jack screaming that everything is wrong and theoretically needs to be changed, with Desmond's pseudo-flashback time travel adventure, and the news of him questioning what he tells people (not to mention seeing the future) and all of the weird issues on the show with time, I wouldn't be surprised if they are angling for a way for Hurley to change something in order to save Libby.

I'm very happy to see Libby mentioned for season 4. In the grand scheme of things, she's the one character I really don't think should have died.

Quote: - Event starts off with a clip with Michael Emerson calling the Others a "Rebel Sect" - Also on the clip show "By the time you see this I will be dead," says M.C. Gainey). - Voice-over: "The survival of the Island is now at stake." - Footage of the Lost game is shown (You can see this in the DarkUFO Home page) - Carlton says Rachel probably won't be on the Island. - Damon says the benefits of only doing 16 episodes (versus 22) a year is they can do more ancillary "awesome" stuff. - Damon and Carlton say don't get too attached to Richard Alpert, because Nestor Carbonell's on CBS' Cane. - They're writing episode one, but it's still untitled Shooting starts in four weeks.
More here: http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2007/0 ... mmary.html
This was funny:
Damon says our guys are more violent but prettier. "When Sawyer is punching you in the face, you're like, More please, you're so attractive, can you take your shirt off please?" But when Friendly does it, it's relentless violence. Says Damon, "If the violence stays intense, it will at least be perpetrated by catastrophically good-looking people."

What is ancillary awesome stuff? I hope they don't mean more novels and websites.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Walt will also be back according to Cuse, but they aren't talking about in what capacity.
According to the spoiler sites listed above, the two new character names are Russell (a mathemetician) and Charlotte an athletic academic. But they note that this can change.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Russell is obviously a nod to Bertrand Russell but what historical figure do they mean with Charlotte?

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
I hope they don't kill them/bury them alive/have them say "Snazzlerazzle!" or whatever in their episode. I'm very, very, very tired of them introducing characters only to kill them off just because some people don't like them.

Apparently Kristen Bell is in the running for the role of Charlotte.
Just a name being thrown around, though.
