 Recommend some shows
Some SF would be nice. From what I've seen The 4400 started nicely, but lately started to bore me (still haven't seen anything of third season). Threshold started badly since the start though, and I did like Invasion, which many here didn't. Lost's season 1 is still great, season 2 not so much, and I love Battlestar Galactica. So, concerning those shows above, and my feelings for them, can you recommend me some?
Btw, couple of questions about shows some of you might have seen...Surface, as there's only one season, does it concludes nicely? Or not having other seasons hurts it a lot? Eureka, is it good? Any fans of Farscape here? Can tell something about the show?
Thanks.

Not Sci-Fi (assuming you pretty much have seen everything good that is Sci-Fi anyway...), so I'll just recommend what I recommend to anyone who asks me: The Shield.

Farscape is hard to describe. If you can get past the muppets, which a few have a problem with, it's really good. Especially after the first season, which for the most part is generic scifi with a fish out of water character. What sets it apart from other scifi shows is that I find it rather humourous and has numerous pop culture references. It's worth a watch, and if you like the first season definitely worth watching S2-4 and the TV movie after.

There's a summer series thread below with a bunch of suggestions from various people. Also Lecter's thread on shows he's catching up on has some ideas.

I saw part of a Eureka, seemed mildly interesting, could develop into something good. It definitely seemed better than the 4400.
Of Sci Fi channel shows, Stargate Atlantis is surprisingly watchable.

Im finally starting season 4.
There's supposedly a bonus season to add on to season 5 this year, but I didn't see season 5, the DVD isn't out (with no release date) and I don't download. My only hope is for them to re-air it in a marathon so I can finally just get to watching the show while it airs!! *crosses fingers*

Doesn't Farscape end with like a cliffhanger? I never watched it, but I remember some people being very upset about that when it wasn't renewed. Or did it get a tv movie after it was cancelled?

I tried as well. It didn't stick. The muppet part I liked or at least didn't mind, that wasn't the issue. It has a devoted fan base though.

farscape has a very campy feel and season 1 seems to rely heavily on stereotypes and cliches of alien shows. there is an element of boredom in it too.
i'll continue with it for now though. i almost tried to get into andromeda but something about the show turns me off completely.
there are not many good space sci fis out there.

Thank you everyone.
I've already planned getting Deadwood, and now also Farscape...and jujubee, read that it had a miniseries or a movie after season 4, guess to conclude it in a nice way, not leaving the cliffhanger.

Yeah the cliffhanger in 4x22 was very upsetting. It's been a while but I think the story goes they were promised a season 4 and 5, filmed the season 4 finale and were just putting the finishing touches on it when Season 5 collapsed and they couldn't change the ending. I think it took close to two years and lots of fan support until they got a 4hr TV movie that wrapped up the series pretty nicely.
I didn't start getting really into it until mid season 2.

i caught the pilots for 4400 and Eureka. Eureka looks campy and sort of low budget time pass fun. 4400 looks inconsistent but promising.

I really liked the first season of 4400. The second season started getting too weird towards the end. The third, I haven't started watching yet, because what I was told of the premiere was just far too disappointing. But I may watch it after the season ends, if I'm advised to by my screener.

Surface is alright but very superficial and cliched but definately better than Invasion although both shows are weak. Eureka is quite boring. There really isnt that many good sci-fi shows other than 4400. Have you tried watching Dr Who?You can always branch out to other supernatural type shows like Carnival which is very good or horror shows like Masters of Horror. Blade the series isnt too bad either.
Others you should check on dvd and download:
Rome
Reno 911
Sleeper Cell
Psych
Heres one Im looking forward to in oct
