Thanks, DK. First observation would be that Jennifer Garner may have her best chance yet at winning, but I hear so much about Glenn Close, I can't help but think Emmy will reward her come September.

As much as I like our Will and Grace fans here, I can't hold back from saying... WTF?! 15 nominations? I think the show was really great in Seasons 1 and 2, and was a laugh in Season 3. But once Woody Harrelson came in for Season 4, then Harry Connick Jr. joined the show, it just hasn't been the same. And, I used to find Jack funny. Then, I realized it's basically just him going "I'm really really gay, and ... I'm really really gay!" every episode for 30 minutes straight. So, I won't miss the show once it's not eligible for Emmys.

Looks like the Emmy voters are the only people still watching Malcolm in the Middle.

Even with Glenn Close in the mix, I think Jennifer Garner has a pretty good shot. Emmy loves awarding long-term nominees after multiple losses, and this will be her fourth straight nomination.

And, not to mention... NO ALISON JANNEY HOGGING UP THE CATEGORY!

I mean honestly... she won four Emmys. Thank God she didn't even get nominated. Same for Martin Sheen.

I hope this gives Scrubs a boost in the ratings next season. I would hate to see the fifth season its last, despite not coming back till mid-season.

And, no love for The Office US Version? Damn. Steve Carell deserved a nomination. Did Eric McCormack REALLY need another nomination?

What the FUCK?! These are terrible nominations!

GILMORE GIRLS is shut out for WILL & GRACE? The show used to be GREAT and SMART and HILARIOUS! I loved it! Now it's just amusing but nothing like it once was. How in the world could they still give it a place in the nominations when they have something like GILMORE GIRLS out there? Are they fucking crazy?

What a JOKE! Screw the damn Emmys!

Some notables:

Desperate Housewives and Will & Grace tie for the most amount of nominations by any show: 15. (I agree, though, Mr. X. I'm befuddled by this Will & Grace support.)

Though I appear to be the only person watching it in the world besides Emmy voters, Showtime's Huff picked up 3 lead nominations: Hank Azaria, Oliver Platt, and Blythe Danner. It's a great show, guys. Watch it.

CSI is shut out from all acting and series nominations.

Go Scrubs!

Go Arrested Development! (Plus the added nominations for Jason Bateman and Jessica Walter)

Real quick, forgot about this:

American Idol
The Apprentice
Project Runway
Survivor

Gilmore Girls is no surprise, as the Emmy voters somehow still don't get the WB or UPN on their televisions.

I know, but it's a damn shame! I bet if the show were on ABC or something and a big hit there it would get a ton of noms. There's no excuse for this! It's a great show and it had its best season ratings-wise yet this year. If so many people love it (including critics) how can it not get one single nomination? It has to be something they have against shows on the WB or something.

I often get the sense the Emmy voters are biased towards HBO.

Who votes on the Emmies anyway? Who is eligible to cast a ballot? Is it a select group or is it every TV actor or what.

I'm surprised Sun from Lost was ommitted but Naveen was included. That was a WTF moment.

Buffy went through the same thing for all seven seasons. Scrubs is probably the first biggest step forward that the Emmys have taken since I started following television closely (ratings, schedules, awards, etc.) in the late 1990s. It will be pretty nice to see no Raymond next year, though. More new blood.

Some more notables:

Gilmore Girls is shut out. I really thought, from all the buzz, that Lauren Graham was going to get her first nomination this year.

HBO receives the most nominations of any network, 93, despite tepid response to its critical hit, Entourage (a bit of a surprise to me).

Victor Garber recevies no nomination for Alias this year, for which he entirely deserved, but does receive a nomination for best guest actor in a comedy for Will & Grace.

Yeah, that was a little weird. I won't deny Naveen's acting abilities, but when I saw his name first, I thought that Terry O'Quinn didn't get nominated. That would have been a huge WTF moment. I believe this is the first time O'Quinn has been nominated for an Emmy. I might be mistaken. I'm glad for him, since he's usually "that guy" to me, until Lost started, since I've seen him in The X-Files, The X-Files: Fight the Future, Millennium, Harsh Realm and Alias, along with a few other appearances elsewhere.

(Sorry for posting constantly) The biggest shock for me was FOUR nominations in Guest Acting for Will and Grace. I mean... come on! One, maybe two. That's all Will and Grace is known for now, bringing in big Hollywood actors and actresses to do guest stints on the show.

I'm kind of happy but also pretty angry.

These are pretty weird nominations...

Notables...

No CSI in almost any category (don't watch the show, but am surprised)

Rescue Me was just about completely shut out. Denis LEary at least deserved a nomination!!!

What the FUCK??? Will and Grace? Come ON!!!!!

No Christine Lahti in Best Drama Actress, that's a pretty big shocker to me. I knew J&B wouldn't get nominated in anything else!

No supporting actresses for Desperate housewives!

Sandra Oh over Yunjim Kim for Supporting Drama Actres????

More love for LOST than I thought... 2 supporting noms plus a drama series nom. That's good!

No Victor Garber for Supporting Actor!

Rescue Me did get pretty much shut out, but it did manage writing and directing nominations.

No nomination for Nicolette Sheridan doesn't really surprise me.

Those predictions seem on the money. The two supporting actress categories I find the most difficult to predict. I'd give it to Oh for Drama, and...well I think anyone but Mullaly could win for Comedy. I'm hoping for Walter or Taylor.

Quote:
Best Guest Actress in a Drama
Angela Lansbury, Law & Order: SVU/TBJ

Best Guest Actress in a Comedy
Kathryn Joosten, Desperate Housewives

I forget the character she played on SVU, but I remember watching it and really liking her performance so, C'mon Jessica Fletcher! Go Mrs. McCluskey!

The Amazing Race better win Reality show again, but Project Runway may be stiff competition.

Hehe... ABC and Fox both had increases in their number of nominations. ABC jumped from 33 to 51 and Fox from 31 to 49. ABC had the strength of Desperate Housewives and Lost. On the other hand, Alias only got 4 nominations. Fox benefited from strong showings of Arrested Development (11), 24 (11), The Simpsons (3), MADTv (5), and American Idol (gasp! 6 - is that the most for a reality competition program?)

24 got its highest number of nominations this year with 11. Will it top last year's four wins?

I really thought Desperate Housewives would get more nominations. Meanwhile, Lost (yay) has 12, the most for a drama this year.
