The thought is kinda fucked up when you think about it. Like Lea Michele having to act out what would really be personal grief over her real-life fiancee's death for national TV. I don't think I'd even want to continue the show if I were in her shoes.

I have no clue how they'll handle this on the show.
Also, hou canezpect Glee's rating to skyrocket, that's how things are.

I just saw this news and I'm legitimately shocked.

And this is such a weird case because of Lea Michele's own personal relationship with him. I have no idea what they're going to do.

Re: "Glee" Thread
I've seen some people saying they should outright cancel "Glee" now because of this.
I'm not sure at all what they're going to do as season 5 hasn't even started production yet.

They will move on and probably do a tribute episode involving Finn's death. Remember they were getting rid of the older people anyway and bringing in newer ones.

Re: "Glee" Thread
That's true but Rachel is still a BIG character and Lea Michele is essentially the face of the show. I don't think they are going to cancel it but I wouldn't be surprised if the first few episodes back don't feature her because of this situation.

I feel horrible for her. Such a sad, and far too common, situation.

Yeah, I feel terrible for Lea as she has said in many interviews how happy she was with him and stood by him through the whole rehab stint.

I'm guessing his death will be written into the show a la John Ritter and 8 Simple Rules, and Lea won't appear in the first several episodes of the new season. Unless she would somehow find acting her grief out therapeutic or something.

Yeah, I highly doubt that Lea will be in the first batch of episodes.

For all the incredible ups and downs this silly show has had, he really was a talented performer. Such a shame.

Lea is apparently an awful awful person. Not saying this is supposed to happen to anyone, but I hope, for her sake, that this can be 'cleansing' and emotional stabilizing. I think she is very talented.
Also, Libs, lol: "Huchita, tu eres mi primer amor" -- is that Finn in Spanish?

No.

Also, this, from the Glee pilot. Still one of my favorite moments on TV ever probably.

What celebrity doesn't come off as a terrible person, when compared to a normal person. And the more popular you are with the younger fans, must make it harder, as how would you like to be asked for your picture or autograph like a million times a day.

When someone gets paid such a completely ridiculous amount of money to play pretend as a career (and I refer to ALL actors, not just her) then that's just the price you pay. If it's so hard schmoozing fans maybe they could get a real job that would never, ever (ever ever ever) pay them anything close to what they make to sing and dance on the TV.
End rant

Re: "Glee" Thread
Most of the main cast members have been radio silent about the death but Mark Salling and Harry Shum Jr. have made statements via Twitter.
Mark Salling - "going through a million memories and emotions today. ill love you always Brother Cory."
Harry Shum Jr. - "At this time, please send nothing but love and light. This tragic news still doesn't seem real to me. I love you Cory."
Pretty much the entire cast is VERY active on the social media front (Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, etc. all tweet several times a day usually) so I'm sure we'll hear from others soon.

Yeah or NewsRadio, honestly I think this could kill the show. Both 8 Simple Rules and Newsradio limped one more season and were cancelled. I can't think of a sow where a major character died and it went on longer than that.

I think the old characters, for the most part, were on there way out anyway.

Re: "Glee" Thread
Matthew Morrison sang a tribute to Monteith at a concert he was doing in New York last night, and Darren Criss is scheduled to speak about it on The Today Show tomorrow (though I believe he was already booked to promote the release of Girl Most Likely).
I also heard that the writers are meeting today to discuss a plan for the series as Finn was supposed to be a major part of the first two episodes of the fifth season.
Lea's publicists released a statement asking for privacy at this time, and still no word from Ryan Murphy or any of the other cast members.
