 Re: "Glee" Thread
Horrible episode. Though I do think that the actors did a great job with the material - particularly Heather Morris in the bathroom, that was probably the best acting she's ever done. But the writing was atrocious and it really pissed me off that the show seemed to want to tackle this hot button issue but failed to really go for it, other than the 10-minute sequence in the middle of the episode. The revelation about who the shooter was came off as stupid and offensive.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
I don't much like Glee tackling this subject, but I thought it was mostly well done. And I don't think the Becky thing is nearly as left field as some of you do. The moment Sue confessed in the teacher's lounge I knew it was Becky.
And why are we still pushing this catfishing thing? It's Unique. It has clearly been Unique, considering the whole stupid storyline started after Ryder insulted 'her.'

I felt like Glee was temporarily taken over by Smash when everyone was praising her horrible, cheesy original songs like they were second coming (ala on Smash when everyone bowed down to Karen at all times). Glee had actually done OK original songs a couple of years ago, too.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
Breakdown of this episode:
- All Rachel/NYC scenes were good. As usual. I actually quite liked the "Don't Stop Believin'" callback - Finn in college - stupid. Also it didn't make any sense, how was he able to start college automatically? - Marley - HILARIOUS. Those songs were just on another level of awfulness. I couldn't stop laughing. - Unique is awful and Sam's dumb split personality thing was stupid. - Will is the worst.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
Last night's episode had so many inane plot developments. Cassie July magically stops acting like a psycho! Mercedes comes back and spouts some of the worst dialogue the show has ever had! The world's worst almost proposal from Blaine! Brittany got early accepted to MIT! The list goes on and on.
I feel like I have Stockholm Syndrome...I can't quit this show, no matter how absurd it gets. And there's going to be TWO more seasons. God help us all.

LOL, I'm watching it now and this is basically accurate. And Amber Riley is HORRIBLE in this episode, which is saying a lot since I usually liked her a lot. I'm blaming it on the dialogue she's having to say

I was waiting for them to reveal the whole scene with Rachels teacher suddenly not being a bitch was all a dream. It was totally bizarro.

Reading the first few pages of this thread is so sad, y'all. Remember how awesome this show was four years ago?

 Re: "Glee" Thread
It really was only the first half of the first season that was seriously GREAT but yes, I agree. Very depressing. It is too bad they couldn't keep up the quality.

I'm probably going to go through life pretending Glee got Firefly'd. It all ends with Shue and Emma kissing for the first time. That was such a GREAT moment... It is almost like it isn't even the same show.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
Definitely has a different feel to it now. Kind of forced maybe? It's like they ran out of good material a long time ago and they're getting desperate for new storylines so they just come up with anything bizarre and stick it in the show.

I think I called Unique being Ryder's catfish the first episode it happened. Good god, Glee, can't you go for unpredictability just once?

 Re: "Glee" Thread
I will say that, despite the utter ridiculousness of Brittany being a genius or whatever, her little speech was a refreshingly human moment for this show. Heather Morris has been doing nice work this show's whole run.
And I found it odd the finale didn't end with some cliffhanger regarding Rachel's Funny Girl aspiration.
Despite the hair-pulling idiocy of this show most of the time, season 4 was still an improvement over 3.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
gross, they made Brittany a genius/got into MIT? She's one of the reasons I stopped watching but that just sounds straight up awful and idiotic.
Idk, I may watch season 4 sometime down the line. Still wish they made New York a separate show, I'd watch that.

Everyone here seems to think differently, but New York was rather boring this season. But hey, so was Lima.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
How did the episode end? My DVR cut off as Emma and Will got married. I'm not sure how much was there after that.
Yeah. It was a terrible finale. The last few episodes have been terrible and have done nothing to advance the plot.
I find the whole subplot about Rachel auditioning for Funny Girl hysterical because she was so obviously campaigning for the role in the revival on Broadway and lost out to Six Feet Under star Lauren Ambrose. It's too bad that it got canned because I was really excited. Poor Lea just won't let it go. It's obnoxious.
Season 4 was definitely "better" than season 3 but the last two or three episodes of season 3 were great. The finale was FANTASTIC and should have been a return to form for the show. I'm really disappointed they blew it.
I wish Unique would get killed off. She is so fucking obnoxious. And Marley taking the blame for the whole catfish thing? Please. So dumb.
I hate this show now but I can't help but watch because there are definitely some bright spots once in awhile. I just wish it was better. It is sad when a show is only great for 12 episodes and I am still watching in season 4. Nothing was worse than season 2 though. Good god that was terrible. I don't know how I kept watching.

I didn't realize that was the finale. Sure didn't seem like one.

 Re: "Glee" Thread
Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Harry Shum Jr. are all no longer going to be series regulars in season 5. I'm kind of glad. It's fine to bring them back every once in a while but the latter three showing up at the high school every two episodes was stupid. Hopefully if anything they integrate them into the NY storyline when/if they return. Would make a whole lot more sense. Now if only they would announce the show was getting rid of the Lima plots altogether we'd be in business
