Well, I'm glad everyone here is enjoying the season It's annoying that 5/8 episodes have basically been nothing but filler in the final season. I honestly just think it's the writers not really knowing what else to tell. Kinda what happened with Lost in the final season (the two shows aren't comparable at all except for the fact that the final season of each was supposed to be epic....and wasn't/isn't). Also, Sherri Shepard needs to go back to being irrelevant on the View.

I thought 7 and 8 were bad seasons, but wow. I can't watch it now, I officially stopped watching live last week, and after catching this one online, and being fooled by "best Episode in years" I might be done.

You guys are honestly pleased very easily. Watch a couple episodes on FX before the new episode, and you'll be shocked. HIMYM is becoming the new Scrubs, where you're dubbed a sitcom despite drawing any laughs.

I definitely agree with you that this season is beyond awful, but why would you stop watching in the final season? Just stick it through. I think the comparison to Scrubs may be valid, though I enjoyed that more than HIMYM toward the end. Also, season 7 was one of HIMYM's best...

I too don't think this season has been good so far. Too bad how once such an awesome show turned into this. I'm just sticking to see how it all ends.

Caught up, season 9 is kinda bland so far. Lilly and Marshal are aces though. Glad to be watching HIMYM again

Best episode of the season. This was honestly more or less the direction I expected the season to go in. It had more of a classic HIMYM feel to it, probably greatly due to the fact that useless characters like Daphne, Pam's sister, and Barney's mom were nowhere to be found. Just the core six +1. Next episode looks more or less like the previous crappy episodes. The stuff between Barney and the mother was fantastic.

Another great episode. I was really worried where it was going at first but it all came together in a great way.

I loved "Platonish." Let me count the ways:

-A change up in the season's structure with a "flashback" episode (I was so happy to see McLaren's again)
-Barney's dolphin noises, pickups without saying "e," etc.
-Robin: "I need you to take a year, a full year, and just be celibate. You know I'm right."
-"You're waiting for a movie star...is it Clooney? DiCaprio? Zabka?"
-BRYAN CRANSTON
-The Mother being adorable and wise some more
-The cosmic wonder of The Mother being the one to push Barney to nab Robin, leaving the window open for her and Ted down the road

My favorite episode since season 2, episode 9 of season 9 yo.

Meh episode, Granston was wasted, but the scene with the mother was awful and cheesy. At least it was better on the bench. I think I did laugh once or twice this time though even if it was beating the already decomposing horse of Ted still loves Robin.

I'm excited for John Lithgow next week. Please don't waste him like every other guest star this season!

Thegun seems like the top of guy who says "Fuck this show" as he hits down to watch it, thus dooming it before a frame has aired.

Not really, I honestly think Crangston's "I will live your facebook wall!" line was the funniest of the season, as well as the response to the pending request.

I just honestly miss the laughs. This show used to be so amazing struggling drama with laughs like Marshall's Father's funeral or Lilly leaving Marshall. Now they only go for emotions and the laughs are just completely tired and wasted. They aren't even hitting the marks of said earlier episodes. We already did an episode on Robin not being to have kids and it was funny and touching.

It upsets me more that they are honestly doing this to one of my few shows I still watched on TV regularly.

I love how Ted has been working on the Pineapple Incident for eight years and then just essentially said "Fuck it."

Looks like next week will be another full flashback episode but it also looks like the next episode occurring at the wedding will have Marshall reunited with the gang.

A horrendous episode followed by a great episode followed by another horrendous episode (tonight's)....this show...I might have cheered when Marshall left Daphne behind. Why are we supposed to care about Barney's parents? Giving his parents condoms and showing them porn was just creepy...even for Barney.
