Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
I figure some of you must read the various Lost boards. Is there any information anywhere as to whether they have any episodes in the can already? How many scripts written, and whether they will shoot them would be nice to know too. Basically I'm wondering if this season is going to happen at all, even a partial season, if the strike goes on.
Edit: I went looking around the web and saw a post where they supposedly have 14 out of 16 scripts written.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Man they sure got them written fast. I think with Lost and 24 it depends on how long the strike is. If it got settled by the end of the year they could be okay because they would have enough scripts to last until the writers come back.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Quote: Question: What does the strike mean for Lost? Any idea how many episodes they finished pre-strike? Is it still scheduled to air some time in February?  Mike
Ausiello: Why do I suddenly feel as if I'm talking to myself, Mike? Why do I also suddenly feel like I'm not going to like what I have to say? At least I know the answer to that second part  it's because I don't like what I have to say. If the strike extends into the new year and beyond, there is a chance ABC may opt to delay the new season until the fall. Or worse yet, February 2009. Another scenario has the network simply airing the eight episodes already in the can this February as originally planned  something Team Darlton would not be in favor of. Says Lost cocreator Carlton Cuse, "Damon [Lindelof] and my concern about running the [eight] episodes we will have made is that it will feel a little like reading half a Harry Potter novel, then having to put it down. There is a mini-cliff-hanger at the end of Episode 8, but it's like the end of an exciting book chapter; it's not the end of the novel. Damon and I didn't write [the ending of Episode 8] differently [with the looming strike in mind]. We wrote it to be the ending of Episode 8." In any case, he concedes that the decision to hold or air the episodes isn't ultimately theirs. "It's really [ABC honcho Steve MacPherson's] call," Cuse notes, adding, "No one was happy with the six-episode run last season." If THIS doesn't get the producers back to re-negotiate, NOTHING will. Now if you excuse me I'm gonna go cry in a corner with Squee.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
funny how you seem to blame the WGA
I'm kind of hoping the strike leads to this. It will give people a sense of the gravity of the issue. It's not something to be taken lightly.

Whoever the main cause of the whole thing is...I don't know. And frankly, from a perspective of a viewer, I don't care either because if it's the WGA forbidding writing the scripts, I hate them for that. And speaking of being overpaid...actors are likely to strike next year as well, no?

A part of me does actually feels this way, especially after the studios apparently double-crossed the writers in the negotiations. The rest of me wants my goddamn Lost back NOW.

Personally I'm fine with everyone having to wait for Lost until fall 2008 or later as I soon won't have access to a TV until June.

Quote: E! Online's "Watch with Kristin" reports that ABC has secured a deal to air promos (with new footage) for the upcoming fourth season of "Lost" before all movies rated PG and above in Screenvision and NCM chains in December. I have never heard of those movie theaters. Are they some random chains or are they companies that own some of the well known chains?

Well Screenvision is a company that runs adverts, NCM is along the same lines. So I guess theatre chains that use those two companies? I know AMC's use NCM while Mann's (Regal) use Screenvision.

Re: The 'Lost' Thread (Season 4)
Well, rumor has it that apparently ABC is hoping to start right back up where they left off on Lost and finish the season, even if it means airing during the summer.
I'll take what I can get.

I'll take what I can get. It's sound logic to me. If someone's going to watch Lost at this point, they'll have been keeping up with seasons 1-3. That level of dedication means they'll watch it whenever they show it.
