 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
The premire definitely is imo the weakest episode of the first 4.

Just finished the second episode. It's nice to have the show back but nothing amazing yet.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
The premiere was solid but nothing special.
I still question why the only flash back they've ever done was this particular scene. I don't think it was really required even if is going to be Cersei's season.
To think of all the other flash backs we could have had in the series its perplexing that we got this one. Must be down to budgets I guess.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
oh yeah, Cersei definitely is the MVP so far, watching her story from Feast ofCrows on tv is AMAZING.

Considering catching up on the show (watched the first two seasons as they aired) now that it is deviating from the books.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Jaime and Bronn in Dorne sounds like a lot of fun. That's where the book deviations are going to pay off. Unfortunately Dany is still a terrible queen, although seeing teenage Drogon was nice. #FreeVisceron #FreeRhaegal And we almost made it an entire episode without an execution!
At least some positive things happened to Jon and Arya. Lord Snow is the season MVP so far.

Cersei is an evil bitch and can't wait to see her get what she deserves. I loved it when Kevan told her off. I agree Jon has been the MVP so far his story is paying off.

Kevan's look is somewhat off. He looked like some sort of Conquistador walking onto the set of Monty Python

And his name is Kevan. The most un-GoT sounding name ever.

Loved the scenes with the house of black and white. Great to see Jon's arc as well.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I haven't got a clue what Littlefinger is up to this point. What does he get by marrying Sansa to Ramsey? However, I see them going with the subplot of Theon saving Sansa and we could still have Jon sending some wildling either Tormen or someone else. I loved Jon's scenes, and Janos deserved it.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Sansa marries Ramsay, Littlefinger kills Roose and Ramsay, Littlefinger marries Sansa and now he's Lord of the Vale and The North. It worked with Jon Arryn and Lysa. Theon and Stannis will likely muck it up this time though.

They should have included the part about the Night Brother asking for Janos' boots just before he got beheaded like in the books.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I like that so many separate characters and storylines are coming together. Dany's story has been so singular and away from the rest of the action for so long, it's weird and totally fun thinking about her interacting with Tyrion and Varys.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Best episode of GOT in a long time. I love the fact they are freeing themselves from the shackles of the book and driving the plot forward.
Love the Sansa/Ramsay plotline. Love the Jon/Stannis/Slynt scenes. Volantis was great. Even Brienne's scenes.
And Arya's Braavos scense are great too. Never warmed to them in the books but here they are doing them justice.

And it looks like they are going with the Tormund = Mance

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
The only thing I hope is Brienne doesn't kill Stannis like they are trying to foreshadow. If they give into that nonsense I might quit the show. If they want to go that route, she should show up but fail miserably like she has at everything the entire series.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I think one of my main complaints is that they really shafter Stannis and Davos. The tv show Davos is more of a kiss up while book version of Davos was more of an underdog in everything and tries to do what is right and does not always agree with Stannis

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
RIP Barrister Selmy. I think Grey Worm is still alive. I don't think he was that badly injured. I thought it was a good episode. I still don't get Littlefinger's plan. I really doubt Stannis would be kind to him. He would end up burned alive. Also, Stannis's scenes were great, they finally gave him a really good scene with his daughter.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
WTF I can't believe that just happened. One of my favorite characters and I thought he had so much more to give. I guess this means his coup in Mereen doesn't go so well in the books? Or maybe the flux gets him?

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
They followed one of the best episodes in the series with one of the worst. Very disjointed and all over the place. The Sand Snakes scenes are a snooze to be honest. Hopefully the Dorne plot line gets more interesting.
The KL, Wall and Winterfell scenes were the bright spots.
But Barristan Selmy WTF. No way! His coup chapter in Dance is one of my absolute favourites and I was so looking forward to those scenes in the show. I guess they'll just swap him over with Jorah but not happy.
