Yeah me too, it is possible she won't reveal that because she knows they could kill her once the last one is known. It is her final bargaining chip.

Post Re: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FINAL SEASON: JAN 16TH 2009
BUMP.. Today's Jan 3rd, 2009 and the Sci-Fi Channel has been reving up the marketing promos for the Final Season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA for Jan 16th, a show that in my opinion has been handled all wrong thanks largely in part to the shows creator Ronald D. Moore.. Problem isn't so much with the shows storyline, but taking too long of a break in between seasons and splitting everything up to the point where the fan, the viewer forgets what's going on.. I suppose that's why they have all of those Mini movies in between seasons to tie things together and whatnot..

Lately, the TV Spots have been showing Kara Thrace looking at some ruins on what's supposed to be Earth from the last episode last season and were supposed to find out who the Final 5 are, at least the final Cylon.. My $$$ says it's Rosalyn or Adama.. Having Starbuck has the final Cylon is almost too obvious.. Any thoughts??

I say its Tom Zerek, I don't think it could be Adama because he had two kids.

I like that choice.. I just hope there's some sort of element of surprise to all of this in the end, something we've totally glossed over.. :-k

It's Earth. The producers have already clarified it for those that don't think it is.

So I guess from the loks of things, Earth has been wiped out, looks desolate from the last episode from last season.. That's the surprise??? If it is, then they better amp up the surprise element a bit more cause that seems like sort of a letdown, almost TOO obvious you know??

Post Re: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FINAL SEASON: JAN 16TH 2009
Yes, it's about 300-400 years in the future and Earth has been obliterated by nuclear warfare/accident/whatever.

What do you mean too obvious? There were 1000 suggestions before the end of the season and of that 1000 I saw maybe 2 people maybe guess that Earth had been destroyed, but they thought Earth would be destroyed and would be 6000 years later it would be semi-repaired naturally.

There is very little surprise element of the show left, but the show is not really, really about "surprise" and plot twists like Lost is. It's a different show.

The intriguing thing about the final 10 episodes is that now we are in a situation where they have been led to this place and their promised land isn't the place that any of them expected it would be... it's not even close. How do they deal with this? How do they rebuild when they have no place to go?

Any "surprises" left is are all about character... What is Starbuck and how will she deal with what she is? Who is the final Cylon? Where are Brother Cavil/Boomer and their Cylon brigade and what happens when they find Earth/Colonials/Rebels? Will the despair push the Humans and Cylon Rebels into war? What part does Hera/Nicolas play in all of this?

BTW, it's pretty clear to me that Starbuck was the dying leader. She essentially has already died.

Spoiler: show
In one of the episodes to come she finds the source of the signal that her "new" viper picked up on Galactica in "Revelations". It's a ship that crashed landed on Earth, and she finds her own remains in the cockpit.

Post Re: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FINAL SEASON: JAN 16TH 2009
WOW!! What a great start to a returning series in an effort to wind things up.. Many surprises on last night's episode of GALACTICA so this is a major SPOILER:
Spoiler: show
The Crew of the GALACTICA lands on what appears to be Post Apocalyptic Earth that apparently was wiped out by a race of Cylons that look like the Cylons from the 70's GALACTICA series based on the helmet they dug out of the dirt on the beach.. It appears that the Chief Tyrol and Col Tigh were alive 2000 years ago on Earth and died back then from the Holocaust, but wer made Hybrid type of Cylons which explains how their alive now.. Kara Thrace(Starbuck) found the cockpit of her ship that contained her burned up body based on the tags she pulled from around the charred remains of the pilot, which was her from when her ship blew up last season.. It's sort of confusing cause the 5th Cylon was revealed to be Col Tighs wife Ellen Tigh who died on New Caprica I believe in Season 3 and is shown in the resurrection hub in next weeks episode.. The question remains: How did Starbuck become revived or what exactly is she if she isn't the 5th Cylon.. Meanwhile, the crew of the GALACTICA is now falling apart in the morale of the ship cause of the grim news that there are no survivors left on Earth.. Deanna went on a brief date with young Adama and after the date, they kissed one another goodnight, she proceeded into her Quarters and spoke briefly with Mr. Giata, who lost part of his leg back in Season 3.. She pulled out a gun, put it to her head and blew her brains out.. As a result, Commander Adama got extremely boozed up and had a word with Col Tigh about him being a Cylon, about their friendship being betrayed and how he couldn't comprehend how this could possibly happen..

Overall, a FANTASTIC, but sort of confusing episode that is a great welcome back and hopefully, Ronald D. Moore can wind this up without any loose ends..

The moment with Dee was absolutely heartbreaking and probably the most shocking moment in the series' history.

On the flip side, the slight moment at the end of the show when Tigh realizes that he might get to hold Ellen again in the future was extremely happy.

It was always my wish that one of the two high profile marriages on the show survive (Kara's or Lee's) but between this and the rumor about Tyrol...

Everyone keeps viewing the "Harbringer of Death" thing like it's a negative. What if Kara Thrace (in a very Hindu sense) is responsible for getting the humans and the Cylons off this whole wheel of time that keeps them repeating their struggling. What if Kara Thrace can give them "Nirvana". Isn't the goal of Hinduism to reach enlightenment by getting off the wheel of endless rebirth?

Talk about bleak! That was one of the most depressing hours of telly I've ever seen! Nonetheless it was spectacular stuff. I'm not sure I like the idea of Ellen being the final cylon. Plus weren't the final five's line boxed, meaning the final five themselves - if they died - wouldn't be able to respawn? If so, that's a bit of a blow to Tigh.

Dee's death was unexpected and very upsetting. I cried a bit I did. :(

I'd say Dee's suicide was probably more hard hitting than Chief Tyrol's wife Cally being blown out of the airlock in last season by the Cylon chick with the dark hair.. I'm anxious to see next weeks episode and really how they wind this whole thing up.. I'm just confused as to how Kara Thrace came back the way she did along with a brand spanking new Viper that looked like it was off the showroom floor.. :-k

We don't know anything about the final five other than...

1. Their identities
2. That one is dead
3. That the four don't have direct knowledge of the fact, although they are starting to remember random bits here and there
4. That they are "different" than the other 7 Cylons (via: the producers)
5. That the other 7 Cylons knew of them as far as the idea that there were 12 total, but not much more.

I think the assumptions were that they were boxed...

What's missing here is that there was a connection between Earth and the Colonies, Pythia had to be transcribed somehow.

I think the remaining 12 Cylons (there may have been more) found out how the Colonials were treating the other Cylons and 7 of the models decided that they would attack and 5 disagreed.

There are ways to explain the memory loss too. (Since in order to pass on memories Cylons have to access data banks, obviously these could have been tampered with or deleted, so when a Cylon ressurects they don't have direct knowledge to pull from).

In watching the episode again, I really think Leoben thought Starbuck was the final cylon.

BUMP for what's probably gonna be yet another kick ass episode of GALACTICA that will more than likely be as good as last week's episode at best.. I think tonight, we get to see Ellen Tigh ressurected and more of Tom Zarek.. I'm still reeling about the death of Dee.. :(

Well then obviously, you didn't see last weeks opener to season 4.1.. It doesn't get any better than that, even as grim as that was..

Best line for last night's episode of GALACTICA with Gaeta talking to Kara Thrace: "So does that mean I don't get a pity frak?" :hahaha: Ronald D. Moore did a great job on the episode that showed Tom Zarek being totally against a Cylon Alliance and also showed Adama shacking up with President Rosalyn who's lost her hair due to her disease.. If I were you Nite Owl, I'd watch the episode from last week on Podcast, then come back and tell us if you didn't think that wasn't kickass..
