Last night's episode was very disappointing. Too repetitive and predictable to really be funny.

I got the first season for Christmas, just finished it and loved it. The pilot was alright, very wannabe Friends, but it really picked up from there. I love, love, loved the Laser Tag episode and The Game episode. Victoria was a really nice girlfriend for Ted, if the writers strike didn't happen I could see her comming back. Plus Ted should be 30 this season I want to see what happaned with the Goat in the washroom. I just started the second season, I'd give the first season a B+ overall. SUIT UP!

Alicia Silverstone (yay!) has joined the cast for a multi-episode arc when new episodes come back in the spring, per Michael Ausiello.

Ausiello speculates she could be playing The Mother, considering that CBS has yet to renew the show for a fourth season (the prospect of it not coming back next season makes me want to cry).

No it has to come back. I just got addicted! I like the Silverstone arc though.

TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is prepping for a small spot this season. Um, two things: Boost for the show, yay. Britney getting work, woot.

And now the bad news:

Alicia Silverstone has dropped out of her multi-episode guest arc now that Britney is guest starring (in a role that was to be playing the assistant to Alicia's dermatologist). Alicia's reps apparently were concerned she would be overshadowed by Britney.

Sarah Chalke (of Scrubs) is replacing Alicia, but the role has apparently been written down to one episode. So, almost assuredly not The Mother character.

Michael Ausiellio claims that the HIMYM people love Alicia, though, and are planning on writing a new character for her.

It's a wonder they don't cancel the Britney thing and get Alicia back as was planned before. Do they think Britney will bring that much of a ratings boost?

It'll be her first proper professional appearance in anything since she kidnapped her kids, got strapped to a gurney and was put on suicide watch in a hospital. Of course she'll be a higher ratings draw than Alicia Silverstone.

In fact, it could give the show its best ratings in... well, ever. What is the highest rated ep of HIMYM anyway?

Probably around when it started, when I think it was doing 11-12 million for a few weeks.

So excited for the first post-strike episode tonight

I've missed the show.

I've missed it far more than I was expecting. I'm not sure whether it's because there's been bugger all else on to fill in the void, or if it's because I've developed and unhealthy obsession with the show and its cast.

I just hope Josh Radnor wears the sweater I knitted for him on tonight's episode.

Theres a new ep tonight? Cannot wait. Is it the one with Britney?

I can guarantee that won't happen. The writers don't hate the fans enough to do that.

I mean, I have to admit, I'm looking forward to Britney's guest spot next week, but there is absolutely no way on earth they would make her character the mother. Just no way.

No, I didn't mean like that. They wouldn't make her The Mother because (depending on if CBS chooses to renew the show, *sob*) there's no way they would give that role to someone as high-profile as Britney. I mean, I don't exactly know how the whole introduction of The Mother will play out, but I would presume she would appear at least a couple of times. Britney is, as I said, too high-profile for something like that.

Alright episode. Not my favourite, the slanted camera made me nautious. Vanessa Minillo wtf? Heh she got a job.
