The rules have changed. Starting this year, they will take the top ten nominees and everyone has to watch the submitted episodes of those ten nominees before narrowing it down to five.

That's just in the lead and show categories, right? I thought I read that somewhere.

I can't remember, but I thought it was for most of the categories. Because I do remember there was discussion about the break up people who vote for the Emmys, like directors, actors, etc, and which groups will vote on which categories.

On some of the shows there is going to be a problem figuring who to nominated for lead and who for supporting. Lost, DH, The Office are three examples what I mean. On each of those several characters could be called the lead. The problem probably also exists for other shows that I don't watch.

Well...

On Lost, I personally would consider every actor as a supporting player, but I know Matthew Fox is usually considered in the lead category.

Desperate Housewives, the leads are the four main women. No question about it, methinks.

I just don't see how a show can have 4 leads. It kind of dilutes the meaning of lead to nothing.
As to Lost, I'd say Jack and Locke about equally but Jack if we had to pick one.

Of course it can have 4 leads, they all have equal screen time.

It's just like how every character on Friends was a lead. To me, at least.

I had the same issue last year with voting. Some people voted certain people for lead actor, when they're considered supporting by everyone else, so I placed the votes where they should go.

The nomination ballots can start being sent in roughly a week and a half. On Monday, I'll post a new thread for FYC campaigns.

Potential Schedule
May 29th-June 11th: Nomination Ballots will be sent to me.
June 12th-June 25th: Nominations Announced, Voting Begins.
June 30th, July 1st, or July 2nd: Awards Ceremony will likely be held on a weekend night, so more will be able to "attend".

That works. The only issue I saw was unintentional vote splitting, your solution is as good as any.

Well, I figured it would have to be that way. That's why I ask people to please send five nominations for each category, but the minimum is 3 each. That way, if one of your five nominees is in the wrong category, you still have four in the right category, which is one more than the minimal requirement.

well we all know the most watched shows win.

So I predict Greys Anatomy, 24 and Lost will sweep.

You said that already, and I'm not sure why. Last time, I got votes from people who post very little (or never!) in the TV section. Sure, the aforementioned shows will likely win an award or two, but don't count out shows that less people talk about.

And, if your post isn't the best advertisement for the forthcoming "KJ Television Awards: FYC" thread, then I don't know what is.

1. I don't really have time
2. It's pointless
3. I dont care who wins.

My obsession with making people watch Alias stood one purpose . To keep it on the air. That is a hope that is no longer and so I have no need to promote the show any further. Seeing it honoured by a majority whos opinions i continously conflict with seems pointless.

Im such a debbie downer.

So, this is the last week of new episodes for most shows that haven't aired finales yet.

When will we send in our ballots?

I say we have voting start Thursday. All the major network shows will be over by Wednesday.

Well, it's probably best to start Thursday. I thought The Sopranos and Big Love were ending this Sunday, but it's not until June 4th. I'm not waiting till the 5th. Later tonight, I'll open a FYC thread for those looking to do some campaigning.
