I think these are terrible nominations, but I admit I am a little biased.

I'm happy Scrubs finally is getting recognition. That's the one really good thing that makes me happy.

And I'm going to be the first, and no doubt only person, to say that I think Lost is overrated, and I don't think it deserved this many noms. *Prepared to be torn apart*

PEACE, Mike ;)

On LOST,

that is why I thought and then was pushing Locke for Actor,

I think Jack is over-shadowed on that show.

and

Right now, I think Locke is as much of the lead actor as Jack

I'm not going to tear any of your argument apart, even being an all out LOST fan...

But when you say it didn't deserve most of the noms it got....
It only got 3 major nominations, Drama Series and 2 Supporting Actor. And even I will admit others deserved to get Supporting Actor over Naveen Andrews as Sayid.

As for all the other nominations.... I think they were all deserved. I mean just go over the WHOLE long list like I did in the morning. It doesn't dominate any category like W&G and Desperate Housewives. It got one for special effects for the pilot, I think a couple or 1 for writing, 1 for direction.

And do you watch the show? I don't recall if you had ever mentioned or posted it.

Im a little peeved that ALIAS only picked up 4 nominations.
No love for Victor Garber, Kevin Wiesman, Lena Olin, Amy Irving or Ron Rifkin?

Im not really overjoyed about that.
And Garner's fourth nod will probobly not get awarded - they like torturing the poor girl. I remember last year when they thought she was going to win they kept the camera on her when the winner was giving the speech incase she bitched or whatever.

In my humble opinon 24 really, really didnt deserve all those nominations this year. The shows lacked punch since its second season and theres nothing interesting or gripping about it any more. It just feels like a labour to get through the hour. Ive not seen Lost yet to judge it; Desperate Housewives kind of did.

Its the same old story with the Emmy's - two media hyped blitzhits get several nominations to plug the Friends sized gaps; and the rest of the nods go to boring, pretentious shows no one likes or watches.
Im pretty sure "ALIAS" got more nominations LAST year which was its most stifled and uncreative years.

:xena: 24 deserved more. Shohreh Aghdashloo, at the very least, deserved a nomination.

But... besides! At least MY awards show has given everyone great nominations! Even if 24 only got 7 nominations there. *grumble* Oh, and vote. NOW! NOW!!!

24 is a show that I want to like. Each season I watch a few episodes and really give it a chance, because in general I love thrillers and spy stuff. But it's just so badly written and over-acted I end up giving up.

Yeah, last year both Alias and 24 got eight nominations. 24 won 4 and Alias sadly, zero.

I say they should give the Best Actress In A Drama award to Jennifer Garner. I just started watching ALIAS and have only watched the first two discs of the first season so far but I think it's great and Garner is great. I heard the third and fourth seasons go really downhill though so I'm hoping that's not true. Hopefully the next season will be great and it can manage to do well in the ratings despite its horrible time slot and not having a great lead-in (it is supposed to attract people on its own with no help from anything). Otherwise it will probably be its last season, and that would be kind of sad since I'm loving the show so far and if I keep loving it I'll want it to be around longer.

If she doesn't get it I would say give it to either Arquette or Conroy.

I know - they like discrimate against entertainment. I think the fact that Alias has been popular on the more "people" orientated awards shows inspit of getting like 10 million viewers less than most other nominated shows is a good indicator that the elitists in television are almost as bad as the ones in film for not listening to the people.

Mike - Fourth season of Alias is awesome. Some people joined to show at the start of the season then left it again after basically moaning about not really knowing wtf was going on for a while and have 0 disposition of the characters there - but for Alias fans like myself; im loving season 4.

Season 3 was easily the weakest year - but its still bloody brilliant viewing - even if it was a bit aimless.

I think giving it to Patricia Arquette would be a bitchslap to Garner - i mean Medium is similarly far fetched and shes new to the category ; they put garner off for 3 years already; maybe her SAG will change their minds.

Season 3 was great, all at once. I don't know if it was different week-to-week, but I unfortunately missed the season on TV, so I got to see it all on DVD.

Garner would be my first choice for the award, but if the other two got it I wouldn't be as disappointed as I would if it was one of the others that I don't care about at all.

Anyway, I can't wait to see more of ALIAS. But if this has to be the last season I wonder how it will end. It would suck if it ended with them not shutting down SD6, since that's been their goal and it would be nice to see them succeed.

I'm not gonna say anything other than ALIAS will have other main goals other than SD6 down the line.
It seems you are a true ALIAS virgin and that is awesome. I'd do anything to watch it all over again not knowing anything, so I hope no one else mentions anything else to you. And don't be tempted to go to any ALIAS forums or threads.

No, I won't because I don't want anything ruined for me. I'm an ALIAS virgin and somewhat of a 24 virgin, but I've seen more of 24 than ALIAS. I blind-bought the first season of 24 last fall/winter and am now up to disc 3 of season 2. I haven't started the third disc yet though. For 24 this last season I'd always mute the TV spots or turn the channel or plug my ears or something because I wasn't very far and the show is always killing off characters or making them villains so I didn't want to know anything about who was in the upcoming seasons. Now that I'm watching ALIAS I'll try to do the same for that one. Before watching both 24 and ALIAS I'd see the TV spots but didn't know a lot of the characters or anything and who was good and bad so it wouldn't bother me and by the time I started watching each of these on DVD I couldn't remember any of the spoilers from TV spots so it didn't matter. But now it would so I have to be careful.

I think what was so surprising for me when i started watching the show was that as well as just being really exciting viewing, there were moments, cliffhangers and scenes that gave me goosebumps.

Tonights episode of Season 4 in the UK nearly had me shaking. Ron Rifkin is a fantastic and very much under-rated actor as Sloane.

Mike. I only have two words for you

"Phase One"
it will change everything.

My choices:

Best Drama: 24
Best Comedy: Scrubs
Actress Drama: Jennifer Garner
Actor Comedy: Zach Braff
Actress Comedy: I don't really care.
Supporting Actor Drama: Terry O'Quinn
" " Actress Drama: Don't care
" " Actor Comedy: Jeremy Piven
" " Actress Comedy: Jessica Walter

But Everybody Loves Raymond will probably get most of the awards cause it's the last season.
