I wouldn't necessarily say that. Jack said everything was going to be OK and the bomb wouldn't go off.

Agreed. But because of that, I feel that the deaths didn't really have that much of an impact as they should have.

Yeah Magnus. All of the deaths throughout the series kinda lose their impact a bit if the side-flashes are happily ever after case scenario.

Also was I the only one bothered by the stupidity of the submarine scene? How in the hell did Sun managed to get wrapped up in pipes (it's impossible they've bent like that from an explosion in a completely different part of the submarine), without a single one of them going through her? Also how did that case managed to pin her like that? Again, the explosion wasn't strong enough to completely demolish the room where it went off, but it managed to unhinge the case and neatly pin Sun down? O Jesus. It's like the writers are on the autopilot this season. Nobody's thinking.

I'm sorry Jin and Sun went out the way they did. Sayid also. Lapidus had no purpose after all.

Though for the first time I enjoyed sideflashes.

So ... obviously backgammon plays a big role next week. In backgammon, if one of your pieces has been taken and sent to the middle of the board, you can't begin or continue to move any of your pieces on the board.

How's that fit in with what's going on here ...

In backgammon the numbers on the dice are:

2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64
vs.
4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

I know you want to get rid of all your peices first ... obviously Bad Locke's peices are the people Jacob brings, and he's obviously getting close. What are Jacob's peices?

Well, they are referring to Locke's description of good vs evil back in season 1. Not sure, though, if the rules will come up.

Devastation.

This episode was...I don't even know. One of the best episodes in the history of Lost, without a doubt. And, above all, the most heartbreaking.

Sayid went out with a bang, literally of course. But this was a fitting end to his character. He got his soul back and managed to save the others (at least temporarily) in the process.

I guess it was implied Lapidus also died, but the fact that it was kinda vague makes me think we might see him again.

But then Sun and Jin happened. That was the most haunting scene I've ever seen on this show...I'm not gonna lie, I actually started crying. The two of them deserved their happy ending SO much and then that had to happen. But about when I realized there was no way Jin was going to leave her again, the waterworks started. The shot of the underwater sub, followed by their hands drifting apart, was beautiful. Poor Ji Yeon.

And Hurley, Kate, and stoic Jack all left crying. That really did me in.

I hate FLocke. I HATE HIM. Terry O'Quinn is so amazing in this role.

This episode really felt like, for the first time, the show is about to end. And that alone makes me really sad.

Can always drop $150, buy it all on blu ray and re-watch it from the start!

I'm probably going to have to. I need to own it anyway, it has definitely cemented itself as my favorite drama series ever.

What I don't understand is why Sun never even mentioned their daughter to Jin as a way of not letting them die together. It just seems that the writers simply omitted that dialogue so there was no way Jin would leave Sun, and we'd get that dramatic ending of the two. I'm 100% sure if Sun told Jin, "Go raise your daughter", Jin wouldn't have said "No." That would've been like saying "No, I'll die with you and leave our daughter orphaned." I admit I did find the scene to be really emotional, much moreso than their reunion, but man, it just felt like lazy writing not even mentioning their daughter simply for the sake of having both of them die.

Aside from that criticism, I thought that was a damn fine episode, probably best of the season so far. FLocke performing the good ol' switcheroo was deceptively clever. Since he couldn't kill the candidates himself, he'll have one of them try to defuse the bomb, only to have that person arm the bomb for real. Clever, I tell you. Too bad Sawyer had to be the one to do it, but now he oughta feel guilty for getting 3 main characters and Lapitus killed.

I feel that Claire will get some sweet redemption sometime soon. And where the fuck are Richard, Miles and Ben?

If my fiancee, soon to be wife, was trapped in a similar situation, no way in hell I'm leaving. Kids are kids and they can live on without you, you only have one soul mate and there's nothing that would make me let her die alone (assuming of course you can control it).

Maybe I can't really relate because I haven't found 'the one' yet, but it still bothers me Sun didn't even mention that to Jin. If she cared so much about Jin surviving so much, I'm sure telling him to raise their daughter is something he would not refuse. Of course, there is that possibility that she wasn't even thinking of her daughter in that situation. Still, I'm sure Jin could've let Sun lived through his daughter, symbolically speaking.

I still think it's lazy the writers completely omitted that portion of their life during a crucial moment simply because they wanted both of them to die.

I can buy taking issue with not mentioning it because if rolls were reversed, I'd want that person to get out, and I'd say whatever I could to make them get out. Of course, I think the writers wanted to illicit a certain feeling, and I'm not sure that kind of banter brings up what they wanted.

So yeah, the action I buy 100%, the dialog, maybe not, but it doesn't bother me and everyone handles situations like that different, maybe she knew he wouldn't leave anyways, maybe she didn't want him to, not important really.

I won't argue leaving is the right thing to do ... but I honestly just don't see how you COULD! James Bond didn't leave in Casino Royal, he kept trying until he got her free. Sure, she died, but he wasn't leaving until he got her out. Point being ... I don't think this is so out there.

Lapidus no!!!!!!! Sucks they all died. Most sad about Jin. He spent years missing his wife and daughter just to be reunited for a short time and never getting the chance to meet his daughter.

Great great episode. MIB needs to die vey brutally. Next week will be awesome!

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Jack said everything was going to be OK and the bomb wouldn't go off.

He said that everything would be OK only if they left the bomb. By trying to defuse it, Sawyer made sure it would explode. If they had just left it, nothing would have happened, because Smokey can't kill the candidates directly.

Yup. Sawyer trying to disarm the bomb made him the bomb 'armer', which was Smokey's plan all along.

To think that everyone would've been fine if Kate hadn't be shot or if there was a first aid kit anywhere (why the fuck wouldn't there be one in a fucking sub, seriously?). Jack wouldn't have checked his back pack at least minutes after the C4 had gone off. That's quite a series of unfortunate events really.

I think Jin and Sun knew without the oxygen, that he would never be able to make it to the surface. So in their minds, it was better to die together, instead of Jin drowning as he got to the top of the water and the two dying separately. That sub was sinking fast.

Heh, looking at our poll at the top, Jin was widely predicted to survive the season, along with Jack, Penny, Desmond, Walt, and then Hurley as the top survivor. Man, if they killed Hurley, I can't imagine how sad it would be.

Exactly, Jack took the last oxygen, there was no way Jin would have made back to the surface, so they rather die together.

My friend has a pretty good prediction for the final scene of Lost: just Jack and Locke sitting on the beach with Locke saying, "Do you know how badly I want to kill you?"

Heh. My friend's predicting it'll be Sawyer instead of Locke saying that, but Locke makes a helluva more sense.
