I liked it. More than I thought I would, atleast.

I'm still a bit lost, but I think next week's recap episode will catch me up. I'll watch the rest of the season.

Good. You have to watch Lost, too.

That's also gonna be having a catch-up episode.

I haven't watched that since around the 3rd or 4th episode. Did they ever show what the heck that thing on the island is?

Tonight's episode was solid. I'm glad Andrew was in it a lot. He looked hot too, as usual. It's too bad his mom wasn't more supportive. She's going to regret it. It's obvious he wouldn't be planning "something" if she would have been.

It sucks that they have that stupid clip show type thing next weekend. Now I'll have to wait like two weeks for another episode.

Bree had been my favorite for a while but I didn't like her at all tonight. She was a bitch, and quite ridiculous. She is entertaining, but I definitely wouldn't want her in my life because she would be one annoying person - she'd drive me crazy. It's just fun to watch the character on TV, except tonight.

I don't buy Andrew's child-from-hell routine. What kind of a pathetic, low-life would screw their life up just to get back at their mom? Well...I'm sure some would, but the plot isn't really that convincing (or interesting).

I myself wish they'd kind of drop that since I don't want to see him go even more bad and make people like him even less. I can see where he's coming from and why he'd want to get back at his mom, I don't blame him for being upset, but I'd rather see them focusing on their relationship and Bree eventually coming around.

I thought this was one of the weaker episodes post christmas, and perhaps even series wide. It just didn't interest me. This episode didn't have me caring about any of the particular storylines and revealed very little new information. I liked that we learned something more inolving the mystery of the toy chest and now its being tied to Mike it should be interesting, what's not interesting? Susan and her Mom. It's only been two episodes and I already want Mom off the show, and Susan has to get more engaging plots. Here sitting around pining after Mike has gotten so boring.

The recent upturn with Lynette has me questioning my burning hatred of her. That's troubling, I need constants in my TV universe.

The same pathetic lowlife that would show no remorse over running down a woman and leaving her to die simply because she's old. I don't find that story line particularly intriguing but with Andrew I can buy it.

I agree, but what I meant to say is that I don't find the character all that convincing. I mean, where the hell did this child inherit all of this moral apathy? Sure Bree's a little up-tight, but she's not the kind that would raise this excuse of a human being.

Or maybe it's just the actor that's not doing a good job, because whenever I see Andrew, it makes me wanna flip over to Kelsey Grammar's sketch show on Fox...*shudder*.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty decent.
It wasn't too solid of an episode, most probably becuase alot of things were irrelevant to the ongoing plot of the series.
However, the different stories, though not particularly astounding, were well done.

I still don't understand hatred told Lyenette, I really don't don't. But glad to hear some people coming around a bit. Her story with Mrs. McClasky was pretty good. It's really neat how they introduce characters and then draw upon them again when they need some filler... it's a nice strategy, haven't really seen anything like it before in any of the shows I've watched.

I agree Susan's moping around is getting really boring and also agree her mother HAS TO GO.
But one thing is clear for sure. Sicne they dragged this Mike thing so long with Susan (and by that I mean her misery over the break-up) it is obvious the "Mike and Susan" storyline is going to persist for a VERY long time.

I know alot of people have hated Gabrielle from the start but I always liked her. IT is finally in this episode where I start disliking her character (mind you that has nothing to do with the writing, the acting, or the actress herself). I always thought she had something extra to her but I am finding that she is just a selfish snob. I hope the writing keeps up with her character and I hope she undergoes some major changes with her baby (which I thought they'd announce this week).

And now Bree. Still my favorite character. Still the best lines (your father is into S&M hemakes me spank him and he likes it). After finding out she stands for alot of principles I don't agree with and she should be the one character on the show I hate the most, I still love her because the writing and the acting is SOOO good.
For once, I am really starting to like Rex. I don't think, though, that because Andrew's homosexuality is on the forefront they expect the viewers to assume their marriage is fine. This, if anything, should cause more marital problems and I hope they still continue that storyline. It's not all about laughing, I sthink this show has some great core insights and I hope they keep exploring them.
As for Andrew, I lost interest in his character as soon as I gained it. I didn't quite for the character before; but when we found out he was gay it finally gave us some sort of second dimension to his character. Now it seems they're just back at square 1. Then again, I always speak too soon for this show. We'll have to see what happens.

I had one question or just a mere inquiry. They say he had a relationsip with Diedra. But now we found out she's been dead for 15 years. So it's been that long since they were together.
And could Zach be Mike's son?

Ehhh, other than a few a brilliant scenes (the first one with bree and andrew, the dinner scene and roast in the freezer scenes), I didnt think this was one of the best episodes this season. It seemed to insignificant and just out of pace for the show.

But come on, give Marcia Cross her Emmy already!

I wonder what you guys think at my assumption (lat line in my post above Rod's).

I saw my friend today (who in November predicted exactly who was in the toy box and about Zach being Dana) and she came to the same conclusion.

This episode got around 24.6 million viewers from the overnights (they can fluctuate just a bit with real ratings) and probably took the #3 position for the week.

I wonder how many people will tune in to the recap episode. I think alot will find it rather irrelevant and thus it could dip under 20 million viewers. But then again, if there is nothing better to watch...

It'd be nice if Marcia Cross won an Emmy, but if she and Teri Hatcher are nominated together for a Comedy Series, Marcia has little chance of winning, since her role is not really of a comedic nature, despite a few hilarious lines that she has said.

Even though ehr role is not necessarily comedic, she does have the best and funniest lines. Not to mention, Teri Hatcher is barely being shown anymore and Marcia has sort of taken the front seat. Also, the icing on the cake, Marcia IS the best actress on the show.

When are Emmy nominations out?
I wonderif they'll go the way of the Globes and full out nominate like 3 women. I think Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross defintely will get nominated. Fellicity is kinda iffy since she has no real ongoing plotline and is sortof irrelevant. Gabrielle was shunned from the Globes and the Television Academy might overlook her as well.

Hopefully Sheridan will get a Supporting Actress nod.

There are not many great comedic women out there right now. Sex & the City is not elligible, right?

That leaves Patricia Heaton as a lock.

The only other contenders I can think of are Debra Messing (thw show has reallly gone downhill though, they will have to stop with the nominations eVENTUALLY), Sara Rue (deserving but unlikely), and Katey Segal (sp?) who does deserve it, but I'm not sure. Maybe REba, but overall it's a pretty weak category so all 4 women getting nominated wouldn't be imnpossible, or undeserving.

I'd be satisfied if she got 2 lines, at this point.

I agree. She is a valuable and wasted asset on the show.
Although I can maybe see, given the writer of the show why it would be hard to keep coming up with stories and plotlines about Edie they can just make her interested in Huber's death and maybe be the one to uncover alot of dirt and thus hang with the other 4 women more often. That way at least she gets more air-time.

It's funny how she's appeared in maybe only half the episodes (or maybe a bit more) but she's still arguably a bigger and more famous celebrity than Felicity Huffman and maybe MArcia Cross too! (Of course that little FCC incident didn't hurt!)

So far the funniest line to me on this show has been when Susan asked her friends if she should read Mike's letter and if it was likely lies. And Bree said of course it's lies, you've seen how good men are at making up b.s. on the spot, imagine if you gave them time and a pen.

What other lines stuck out for you all this season?

"Rex cries when he ejaculates."

Nothing all season has topped that, and I doubt anything will.

Marcia Cross should get her Emmy nomination based strictly on that scene, as well as the scene where she's "sweetly" menacing to Rex when he's in the hospital.

All Bree:
"Andrew, Danielle! Daddy's going to fornicate for us!"
"My husband likes to have metal clamps tied to his nipples, Hooray!"
"My daughter is planning to offer you her virginity. I'd consider it a personal favor if you wouldn't take it."
and the winner:
"Rex cries after he ejaculates"

You forgot:

"How about Palestine?"
and this week's: At the dinner table and in front of the priest... "Your father is into S&M and likes it when I spank him" (or something of that sort)
