 Re: Community - Season 3
I just don't get NBC's motive. Harmon said on his blog they didn't even call him. It's not like it was a hiring a guy for half price decision. It has to come down to one of two things. Either NBC really wanted to cancel Community and just were afraid of the internetz + are insane enough to think that they're better off rolling out a sh**ty 13 episodes before doing it... or my best guess, Dan Harmon personality wise is Kathy Bates in "The Late Shift" and someone made the executive decision of "FUCK THIS ASSHOLE. SERIOUSLY, FUCK HIM. GET HIM THE FUCK OUT OF NBC. THIS IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. I DON'T CARE WHO RUNS THE SHOW, AS LONG AS IT'S NOT THAT ASSHOLE. EVERYTHING I SEE HIS FACE MY BLOOD BOILS TO 100. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST."

 Re: Community - Season 3
Anyways, I'm just going to pretend that was the series finale. At the top of my list for favorite shows ever. Really just classic stuff. Whatever happens in S4 I'm treating as a spin-off. Even if it's good, I can't take it seriously without knowing it comes from the same place/guy creatively as the first 3 seasons. With that said I'm pretty sure the episodes are going to suck.

Yeah it will suck not having Harmon around anymore but at least there are decent people coming in his place, not say Chuck Lorre or the creators of Whitney.

STFU. 24 has been at least fun all the way through. And so is Dexter.

 Re: Community - Season 3
Well, just finished the final three episodes of the season and certainly enjoyed them (Digital Estate Planning was probably the least funny but was a treat to watch).
I don't know if Dan Harmon getting the boot is going to be a complete death knell like everyone else, although I think the show will certainly miss his voice. I'm sure next season will be the last, but that makes sense from a storytelling perspective anyway.

 Re: Community - Season 3
So...
After much tumultuous behind the scenes drama and a lengthy season premiere delay, season 4 of Community FINALLY premieres tonight in its usual time slot of Thursday, 8 PM against the death star known as The Big Bang Theory.
I have no idea what the show will be like now without Dan Harmon, but I guess we'll see.

 Re: Community - Season 3
Wow I'm actually shocked at how bad that was. I was expecting mildly disappointment but that was utterly unwatchable. Zero funny moments for me. The second half of the episode I just kept it running in the background while surfing the net. I'm not watching any more episodes and pretending none of this is real. RIP Community 2009-2012. It was a good run

 Re: Community - Season 3
ummmm
I thought the episode was fine? Didn't feel that different from last season but then again I wasn't a big fan of S2 or 3.

Oh come on. The episode was fine, actually pretty funny, and didn't feel different at all.

 Re: Community - Season 3
It felt completely different to me, the only thing I found funny was the dean commenting on his stapler being moved. The rest just felt like a mostly incoherent, unfunny mess redeemed only ever so slightly by the talented cast.

It definitely felt different without the Harmon touch but it was still enjoyable.

Probably because I'm not as cynical as you people.

 Re: Community - Season 3
It was okay, but I'm more inclined to agree with The Lesser Evil. Harmon's presence was definitely missed and the show felt completely disjointed. You could maybe make a weak argument that that's what they were going for since it's supposed to be the first day of the "last" year, but I think that would be giving the show way too much credit.
Still, it was funny enough mostly thanks to Jim Rash to where I still liked the episode. I hope the remaining 12 are much better though.

 Re: Community - Season 3
Another fucking terrible episode. Trying to think of the ways I can appreciate it for being bad, as if a meta-satire of television

Funny episode, and better than last season's halloween. I loved the secret swing room.

 Re: Community - Season 3
Although I wasn't fond of the first episode this season, I really enjoyed the second one. It felt a lot more like the Community I love, and I laughed out loud several times, while last week only got a chuckle out of me once somewhere near the end.
The secret swing room scene was my favourite part. Yvette Nicole Brown doesn't get enough credit for her work as Shirley, and I think she really made that scene even better.
