So, if the rumors are true, then May is going to be a month where SNL welcomes back past hosts, musical guests and cast members!
May 5th: Tom Hanks returns to host for his 8th time, to promote "The DaVinci Code". Red Hot Chili Peppers also return as musical guests.
May 12th: Julia Lous-Dreyfus returns to SNL, as the first former female cast member (she starred on the show for 3 seasons in the mid-80s) to host the show. She's likely promoting "Old Christine". She's joined by one of the most frequent musical guests of SNL history, Paul Simon.
May 19th: Kevin Spacey, whom I was sure hosted a few times, will return for his second appearance as host of SNL, promoting "Superman Returns". He's joined by newcomer-to-SNL, Daniel Powter, likely singing "Bad Day".
I expect Darrell Hammond, Maya Rudolph, and Chris Parnell to leave. Maybe more. Hopefully Horatio Sanz.

Tina Fey and Amy Poheler have other projects in the works for next season, so I wouldn't be suprised to see them go either.

Tom Hanks hosts tonight. Thank you, God. This season has had some great returning hosts (Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Jack Black), along with a few great debut performances (Eva Longoria, Steve Carell, Dane Cook). There are about 8 solid cast members on the show. If they keep bringing back a few great favorite hosts next season along with other talented actors (NOT sports people), cut about half the cast, add maybe one other person to the cast, and hire new writers, the show will be saved.
It's time for a MAJOR change.

Oh, and here's the supposed revised schedule for the rest of the month for SNL:
May 6th: Tom Hanks with musical guest Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 13th: Julia Louis-Dreyfus with musical guest Paul Simon
May 20th: Kevin Spacey with musical guest Nelly Furtado *SEASON FINALE*
The only change from my previous list is Nelly Furtado in place of Daniel Powter.

That Gore opening was the funniest thing I've seen on SNL in a while, outside of prerecorded bits like funhouse and the videos.

This has been by far the funniest episode of the season.
I've laughed pretty heartily at every single sketch tonight (the homeless man being all creepy to the women, the most awkward morning news program ever, "MySpace for Dummies" with creepy perverts).
And the AL Gore thing was great.

OMG is this the longest Weekend Update ever?
Was that Andy Samberg as David Blaine? He looked really creepy/odd and very unrecognizable.

Umm... wow. Who the hell wrote that episode? Can they PLEASE come back? Because it's obviously not the same writers who have been behind the show for the past three or four seasons.
By far, this was the funniest episode of SNL in a long, long time. Possibly in the past five years. Almost every sketch was great, with quite a few laughs throughout. I was scared that Julia Louis-Dreyfus would be horrible after reading the cue cards for her entire monologue, but she actually did a nice job. I think she played the same character for every sketch, but that's okay. She was still great. Fit in nicely. The Jason Alexander/Jerry Seinfeld cameos were great.
I hope it's a sign of things to come that Kristin Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg and Bill Hader were featured prominently in the episode.

Was that Superman Returns TV spot a new fourth one, or the first one? Anyways, it was a very good one. I didn't notice (If it has) or liked a lot (If it hasn't) the airplane breaking in half before. I also liked the shot of Superman flying down at the end.
As for the show, good opener, good monologue, and I'm glad the 2 A-Holes are back.

Did Tina Fey announce this was her last episode?
I left the room for a sec, and when I came back Mya Rudolph was singing "I Will Always Love You", Ratchel Dratch was drooling and yelling like a baby, Sanz was humping air, and some guy was jumping around while dressed as Taylor Hicks.
I figured I must have missed something important.

Oh no. It was her 180th episode and they were doing a tribute.

Phew, thank goodness!
I don't even want to think about a Tina Fey-less SNL right now.

I'd never seen that one before (I don't normally watch SNL), so that one really caught me by surprise. *shudders*
I'm hoping someone puts that Neil Young sketch up on YouTube, 'cause I wanna share it with all my fellow Sassies (members of the Dean Stockwell Yahoogroup I'm on; on there, you can't talk about Dean without talking about Neil). They'll get a real kick out of it.
I'm glad I tuned in for the later half of the show. Some really funny stuff.

Wow, two great episodes in a row? What the hell? It took them four years, but they did it.
Kevin Spacey was great. A cue-card reader, but who isn't nowadays? Even the cast reads the cue cards constantly. I only really notice Seth Meyers as someone who rarely reads off cue cards.
Even though I hate the name (Two A-Holes...), Kristin Wiig and Jason Sudeikis are really funny in that sketch. It's so very little material, yet really funny. I prefer the simple stuff over sketches that focus on being parodies or the political humor (which isn't so funny anymore).
I can only hope to God that the return of Carol! means Horatio Sanz is leaving the cast. But, if God hates me, he'll still be there in ten years.
Kevin Spacey and Andy Samberg's backstage skit was easily one of the funniest skits of the past five seasons. I loved it. The season as a whole still sucked, but there have been quite a few standout sketches this season which gives me hope that next season, the show will ditch the bad writers and stale cast members and focus on comedy again.
Weekend Update is still very hit-and-miss. Taylor Hicks now has a recurring character on SNL! And, I'm more than certain that this was Tina Fey's last show, considering she has a sitcom debuting this fall on NBC.
The Falconer was the best one to date. Might as well end it there.
The Neil Young thing was great.
The rest was either okay or forgettable, because I can't remember much else. Of this season's hosts, I'd love to see Eva Longoria, Dane Cook, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus all come back again real soon. They were standouts for me.

Tina Fey is clearly going.
If the big sing-song wasn't enough of a clue, then the heartfelt hug she shared with Amy Poehler should've convinced ya. And if not that, then the t-shirt with "Thank You" she had on during the end credits.
I'll miss her. Of the current cast members she's clearly the most talented. The best thing SNL could do right now is start completely from scratch.
