Ha ha! I knew it!! Thanks for rechecking! It could just be a mistake though, because you really can't stop your heart from beating... but still... he WAS breathing!

Nothing I've read for the rest of the season points to his return. The angle of that shot may have shown the breathing unintentionally. Or the producers just like making us crazy.

Hmm... interesting... Walt burned the raft. I thought at first he did, but what Locke said at the beach changed my mind.
Two things I saw this episode:
-Hurley was on the TV at the Korean household
-Jin was wearing handcuffs before Sawyer attacked him

Well I loved that episode. Then again I am most likely gonna enjoy any episode where Sun and Jin are the focus. I liked that even though the episode was clearly focused on the Koreans others showed up and had something to do with the main plot.
Not sure where they are going with the Sayid/Shannon romance-friendship but if it makes Shannon more interesting and gives her more time, all the more power to it.
Also enjoyed the raft plot, but I did have a feeling Walter was the arsonist. I would like to see them get back to the mystery of the island at some point in time though. Hurley's batteries running out at the end was a nice touch.

Awesome episode. Good focus on three of my favorite characers (Michael, Sun & Jin). And yeah, I noticed Hurley on the TV too, looks like next week's episode might finally be his too! I really do hope this is the beginning of them doing more searching on the island though, I'm all ready for that.

The guy who plays Jin is a good actor, I hope he gets more roles from this series. Sun looks incredible in a bathing suit, who knew, never would have guessed that.
At the end, when they were playing Hallelluah, I was mentally thinking of what I'd post, hmm should I point out that they had used that on Alias last year, or maybe suggest Rusty run over the hippy who sang the anthem at the end, yes that's what I'll say. But then the batteries ran out, lmao that was funny, good way to end it.
I think the handcuff on Jin is left over from one of the first episodes when Michael handcuffed Jin to some object. He got cut free later but still retained one handcuff on, if I recall right.

The West Wing used it in S3, The OC used it last year as did Alias. I don't blame them it's a fantastic song. And yeah, Daniel Dae Kim is a good actor, I liked him in minimal part it 24 last year as well. Yunjun Kim is also really good too, it's a shame she didn't get cast as Kate, for which she read.

Last night's episode of Lost was one of the best this season, I think.
For once, the backstory was shown but every single other character was given at least one scene, which hasn't happened since the first few episodes. I'm talking about people like Shannon and Hurley, who are not always given enough screen time.
The acting from Daniel Dae Kim and (especially) Yunjin Kim was also great last night. Sun seems to have a wider grasp of the English language than I thought she did before.
When Hurley was listening to the music on his walkman, I kept thinking when the batteries would run out. While I was thinking that, they actually did. That was a hillarious way to end it.

I had a strong feeling Walt did it. Really, he's one of two people who directly benefit from staying on the island. I wish I was wrong. I like to be surprised.
Hurley's news coverage was a Tivo moment indeed. Not the best "watch closely" of the season but one of the funniest. Anyone know Korean?
Jin letting Michael beat him up was a bit too much like Sawyer's torture IMO. It seemed rehashed, beat me up for redemption.
Explosions, booby traps, dilapidated bridges, it's like Indiana Jones.

As much as I love this show, I'm starting to get a bit impatient waiting for something to actually happen.
Also, I took Hurley's batteries running out less as a gag and more as an ominous signal of what's to come. At the very least, there'll be no more happy slow-mo endings to David Gray-esque ditties.

There's another thing about Hurley's headphones that I wonder about.
Since the music was being played over images of other castaways, not just Hurley walking down the beach, doesn't that almost put Hurley into the role of narrator or puppetmaster.

I felt some of that too this episode even though I liked the episode a lot, it feels like the show stumbled around the time Claire got kidnapped and they chased her. It was like it switched gears and was going off into an interesting new area and then the producers/writers abruptly changed their mind and tried to undo it.

Was anyone else waiting for Jin to break out, and start yelling in English? I know I was. Great episode. And not every person was in it, unless Kate had a small cameo at the start.

Kate didn't have much to do but she was present during the big scenes on the beach and was around here and there.
Not really sure why Jin changed his mind, one minute he's walking off saying it's too late, the next he's helping Michael with his boat. Unless I missed something I just took it for him simply rethinking it and changing his mind but they didn't really give any bridge between the walk off and the coming back to explain it.

I took it he was just talking about "it's too late" between him and his wife, not everyone else. And yeah, I was waiting for him to burst into English too. He's a good actor, his next movie is one I can't wait for and that Libs is sure to not see, The Cave.

I thought this was a great episode.
Yes, the story behind the asian couple is one of the most interesting backstories.
Yes, the raft was a great storyline.
there were other very awesome plotlines...
But why I loved this episode so much was because there was a central incident and it was the only time when everyone just was focused in on what was happening. Ya most did not have anything directly to do with the central incident but just the fact that they all came together did it for me tongiht. It was a great sketch on human nature.
I knew from the very beginning it was Walt. I watched it just now since I was at a basketball game Wednesday night and recorded it. My brother had watched it and told me I'd never guess who it was and from the very beginning I said Walt and he didn't say anything till the end and asked how'd I guess.
I actually had a hunch it was Walt as soon as it went burning but I realized it was him by his reaction to it when his father went in a rage against Jin asking her why he did or where he was. And also Walt started frantically to put the fire out. A bit of guilt maybe?
Shannon and Sayid's storyline is I guess a little interesting. I just don't see the chemistry. I know they are extremely different characters and often that's where the attraction lies, but I don't believe it yet.
I did notice but my brother noticed Hurley on TV in the korean household. And I thought the batteries stopping was a hillarious touch. I think it could have some minimal significant meaning, but I wouldn't look too much into it. Next week's episode IS about Hurley.
I hope they keep the great writing coming even though the rest of the season's momentum is going to be killed by the empty week between epsiodes as they only have around 6 more episodes to last till May!
I have a hunch the French woman is returning this week

By the way there were several non-regulars standing around the fight on the beach near the end. An asian teen, a bearded man and an adult white woman. Probably we'll never see them again but just mentioning in case we do.

Also we have Rose and that hypochrondriac guy (or is he the one that died?).
At least they put some new people up in the front. I just wonder where the other 18 are.

The show is great, but there are two problems (albeit, kind of minor) that I would like for them to stop doing.
Way too much, at the end of a show, do they have the camera panning over every important member of the cast, in a quiet reflection as some sort of soothing music plays in the backround. The first time or two was fine, but do they have to do it like 8 times or more?
Also, when they're going to a flashback, or coming back from a flashback, they have a big closeup on the characters eyes or face. Isnt there some sort of other way to go to, or come back from, a flashback?
Again, just minor complaints, but still a little annoying.
Favorite backround story so-far: The guy in the wheel chair.
Least Favorite backround story so-far: Probably Charlie's
Creepiest backround story so-far: The brother and sister (in-law) backround story.

I agree with your first two points and the thing is about them zooming in on their face when they cut to a background story is it creates a little problem: are they saying that the background story we see just then is what they are remembering? They shouldn't go that route, because then it becomes unrealistic that people are remembering neat little stories at the right time, usually in the middle of some crisis. They should just do the background stories without the implication that the person is right then remembering it.
And yeah as much as I love the show, I agree about the endings. That was one reason the episode that ended with Claire being confronted/kidnapped by Ethan was so great, it was a change from the "we're all better off here" montage.

I actually loved the part of the last scene in the last episode when Sun lets that towel go. The music went well with it.
