I agree, last night's episode was pretty solid.
I really like the struggle within Tommy to drink. It may be just repetitive with any other issue, but I believe it and the writing and acting have alot to do with it.
I also want to know what all the Jesus visions signify.
The most interesting storyline continues to be the lost baby. I think the best scene was the first with Sheila and the bacon/eggs. But the episode ended too abruptly. I couldn't believe it was over!

Yeah, the Jesus thing is a little weird. I don't know what to think of it. It's going to be weird of Tommy's daughter is going to be with him now, which may be the case. Something new for the show.

Well, the Jesus deal just got weirder, but I don't know if we'll be seeing alot of him anymore!
I didn't like this episode that much. Not too much happened, each storyline got furthered just a tad and it wasn't as engaging as the season has been to date. And even moreso than the last episode, this one ended too abruptly; it felt like a half-hour show.
Next week looks great!

*These thoughts are not of Season 2, but are of Season 1. I haven't gotten a chance to watch a new episode yet, mostly because I have wanted to see all of the episodes from the first season first, and I never know when the show is on. I just set my TV to record all of the shows from now on, so I think I'm set.*
I still have a lot of catching up to do compared to you guys, but I just finished Season 1 tonight, and I have to say that this is one of my favorite shows now. I thought Leary's The Job was good, but this tops it. It still has plenty of laughs like The Job had, but it's also very serious too, and the show does a great job at handling both of those.
The last episode of the first season was the best epsiode yet. It had everything you could ask for, from former Boston Bruins players (Cam Neely and Lyndon Byers), to comedy with the dead fat lady being brought out through the windown on the crane, to having Tommy's family leaving him. I can't wait to get caught up with Season 2.

That certainly was the best episode until that time.
I think the Season 2 premiere may have topped it or maybe just fell a little short, but the rest of season 2 to date has been great, but not on par with the finale/premiere combo.

Nobody else seems to be watching this awesome show... no wonder it didn't get too many emmy nods
FX seems to be on a roll and if "Over There" lives up to its hype, then with 3 amazing shows, it will be my favorite station above the networks.
Anyway..... not the best. but great overall episode. Fantastic... it didn't involve all the characters, but at least we got some real good plots from the ones that it did.
the chief and his problem with his son was great; very well written and really interesting. I'm just wondering how much longer they'll keep that in.
The guy with the bone marrow just seemed to be a filler storyline.... that guy is my least favorite and most annoying character, what's his name.. Lou?
Concerning Tommy finding out about the miscarriage..... Being a huge (I don't want to say fan cuz it will make sound weird and a little creepy, so I'll say...) sucker for storylines in movies/tv about parents losing their children (to me it is the most emotional thing you can try to capture on camera) I can't say it was all I expected, but I can say I was satisfied because it does seem like a real way they would have dealt with that situation. But one thi8ng I didn;t get was why Gavin was sort of blaming Cheila for the miscarriage.
though I saw it coming, I hoped for the girl's sake, Franci's storyline wouldn't come to what it did, but now it got me hooked to what's going to happen to Kaila.
So what's going to happen to tommy with the kids now???? Can't wait till next week!

raffiki... i love this show, ive been watching it since the premiere last year. its phenomenal.
i think tommy was blaming sheila for the miscarriage because of the fact she didnt tell him and she started to drink and everything else. maybe it was just rage that got to him tho. especially with that event with jimmy earlier.

I thought it was a great episode! Glad to see Jimmy back in some sort of way. I like the interaction between Tommy and Jimmy more than the interaction between Tommy and Jesus. I love how they always put up a storyline that could take a predictable route (Tommy questioning whether to go one block over and two blocks down, making you think he'll lose the kids again) and it doesn't.

Decent episode this week. Not much progressed the stories, but it was an overall good episode, just like the rest of the show.
Franco is my least favorite character (and, I find, the least believable of the bunch), but he's progressing nicely, even if we already have someone kicking an addiction (Tommy with alcohol).

I agree. The season has been great so far with one brilliant opener. This episode was no exception; great, decent, well acted.
I also agree completely with your thoughts on Franco. He is my least favorite character (except maybe for Lou) but the past couple of episodes have seen his character develop quite nicely. Now if you're talking about least believable character.... you gotta go with Lou (wow, how embarrassed I'll be if that's not his name, cuz I can't quite remember). His progression from season 1 to season 2 is the least believable; they're like two different characters and there wasn't a transition either: an incident... yes, which is supposed to explain it, but I don't buy it and I don't like him!
I'm actually quite disappointed that they haven't been showing much of the new guy at all. I forgot his name, but I he's the one that was in love with the overweight chick. I liked his character ALOT and they haven't really gone anywhere with it after the first 2 episodes.
I'm really getting interested in the chief's story with his gay son. It by far seems to be the most grounded plotline, as in relating to real life.
the show continues to be above average. If only every episode was as good as the prmeier and season 1 closer, I'd say it's one of the best shows I have ever seen of all time.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to the new guy (Probie, which I think is the nickname they gave him or something). He really hasn't had much to do since the overweight girl.
I didn't mind Lou too much in Season 1. This year... ehh, it could be better. He acts like he doesn't care, and it would help the show a lot if they showed him alone and he broke down completely and cried, or something. I don't know. And, I think his name is Lou, or it might be a nickname, too. I know people have called him Lou.

Another excellent episode. The consistency in great writing and character devlopment is the most important facet of Season 2.
It has surpassed all expectations and overall quality of Season 1.
I'm loving how the homosexual issue was at the forefront, that these writers are man enough to write about such a sensitive topic with viewers of such a show. I think it's all quite believable, from the actions to the emotions being expressed.
I think Franco's character has made some big strides this season and will be interesting to see where they go with it.
Lou will obviously be falling for the hooker... a nice side-story for my least favorite character; at least it's a bit interesting now.
They still lack some serious plot-work and storylines for the Probie and the monkey-looking dude; it's obvious any meat they get in writing and screen-time is forced so that they can spend their time on the main plotlines. I ahve no problem with that actually but need to know they will be further devloped later on or in coming seasons.
Overall, I like the direction with Tommy and and all his related family... it's keeping it tight, focused, and interesting.
I think there is only 5-6 more episodes left, so I'm wondering if it's going to start building up to anything like Season 1 or not and maybe have a cliffhanger (which season 1 also had).
I love this show. Keep bringing it on!

There's only five episodes left, and I'm really dreading seeing these episodes. I watched the latest episode, and it flew right by, so I know the rest will fly right by, and I'll have to wait another 10 months for new episodes. Great episode, too.

The only reason why I would be remotely happy for this season to end is the season premiere of Nip/Tuck.
It's going to follow in the same timeslot the week after Rescue Me's finale airs.
I can't believe they put Nip/Tuck on Such a long hold. It was about 11+ month wait. It ended like October 4 or 11 last year and this year the season is going to start September 21. It's almost an entire year-wait. That's insane!!!!!!!
I really hope they keep up the writing and acting for Nip/Tuck. Something in my gut tells me we've seen its best days and I hope that I couldn't be more off.

Out of the five episodes I have seen this season, this one is hands down the best, and possibly my favorite of the entire series. The show tonight was great with Tommy acting creepishly nice. The hockey scene was the best, and the Boston Bruins fan in me was glad to see Cam Neely back on the show, but not only that, but curse. That was a lot of fun.
The only thing I didn't like about the show tonight actually had nothing to do with the show. It was what FX did with the preview for next week's episode. They revealed too much. For instance, the kids who stalks Tommy in this episode didn't need any explanation, and they actually didn't explain why he was there during the episode. But during the preview for next week, we realize that he might have been sexually assaulted by Tommy's half-brother (The preist) and apparently tries to kill him.
That would've been a good surprise for next week, but I am hoping there is another twist in there we don't know about, and I would be serious money that, that is the case.

Yes. Excellent episode!
It did not have the dramatic factor that most of season 2 has had (and that is why I am attracted to the show) but tghe comedy in this episode outweighed it all this time. the funniest episode of Rescue ME to date. The bit with tits v. emotion was probably the funniest scene in the series.
This is such an extraordinary show. If Season 2 doesn't get an emmy nod... WOW. Emmy voters are smoking some serious weed!

Great episode, with nice comic relief. I really like Garrity for the comedy now.

Is Garrity the kind-of stupid one? The one that looks like a monkey?
If so, then ya, he was great comedically this episode as he always is playing dumb!
I'm back to hating Franco, while on the flipside my all time most-annoyed-by character Lou is actually starting to get a little interesting.
4 episodes left and then.....
NIP/TUCK SEASON 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw the first ever commercila for it last night (well, with footage at least) and it looks weird but I am SOO impatient. I need my N/T fix!!!!

Yep, Garrity the Monkey.
On Nip/Tuck... I actually have to see the first two seasons. I watched part of the seasons, but I would like to see all the episodes. I've been catching up on Deadwood (awesome series), so Nip/Tuck would be good to start on next.
I'm sad there's only four episodes left of Rescue Me.

I'm also sad about the limited number of episodes. It seems as though it went by so fast. I'm looking back and thinking where this summer went. I really haven't done anything! July flew by.
Nip/Tuck is a really good, excellent show.
Season 1 will blow you away. Season 2 is maybe slightly under the first season's quality, but the bar was set so high with S1, it's still amazing television.
Season 1 is 13 episodes and is available on DVD.
Season 2, I believe, is 17 episodes and is coming to DVD Tuesday, August 30. I will buy both at the same time!!

Hmm, I'll try to get Nip/Tuck Season 2, and rent Season 1 (not sure if I'll be able to buy Season 1, but I'd rather buy the first season before the second if I can).

I can't take it anymore.
This show is too fucking good.
Tonight's episode felt a little chopped up and rushed where things could have been devloped and explored in legth and made much better, but that's beyond the point. This show continues to amaze me. I'll tell you the truth, I never thought Denis Leary had it in him. I did not know the writing from these men could cut so deep.

Excellent episode. You can almost feel the show building to the season finale, which I hope doesn't disappoint.
