A little to Friends-lite this episode tonite (ala Rachel/Ross/Emily wedding episode) but was good. I really liked Stella. To bad to see her go.

sad episode but i'm glad he and Robin will get back together.

I saw it happening as soon as Scrubs got another season, but agreed.

I agree (that Robin is awesome), but Ted and Robin together is so been there-done that. Plus, it's established at this point that she's not the mother.

Besides, you should be rooting for Robin and Barney. Now that would be awesomeee.

Best episode of the season so far, I'm glad Chalke is gone. I don't think Robin and Ted will get together soon, probably something will come between them, but by series end I think it's at least possible for them to be together despite what he said to his kids in season 1 about her being their aunt. Maybe he was lying to them. We don't know that everything he tells his kids is the truth.

edit: scratch that, the yellow umbrella comments last year seem to rule out Robin. Still it was a cool ending.

The best episode I've seen, but I've only been watching for the past year so I'm not familiar with the full series. I didn't see Stella running off with Mr. Samantha Bee as I thought Ted was going to ask to take it slower, but the Barney/Robin interaction was pretty predictable.

What a great episode. Best of the season by far. Future Barney was just brilliant

and a big question, who do you think Robin will end up with Ted or Barney?

we learned robin doesn't end up with ted at the end of the first episode of the series.

Not really. We learned that he told his kids that. But like the similar movie Definitely Maybe, he might have lied to his kids.

On the other hand, the umbrella stuff from last season makes it look unlikely that Robin is the one.

think Barney and Robin might end up together which will agree pretty closely to the Aunt Robin...but is that a good match....

and besides the umbrella, they said that the mother was at that earlier party ... and they realized it later...so it seems that the mother should be an unknown person.

Ahhh, thank God Stella is gone. I never liked her to begin with and she was especially annoying this season. The ending was predictable, but nevertheless it hit all the right notes. Poor Ted.

Robin is not the one. Though she and Ted have great chemistry, it would be kinda like a cheap trick if it turns out Robin was the one. I mean if he's telling the story of how he met their mother, than he already did meet her in episode 1 if that's Robin - so the end of the story. If by meeting her mother he means how he fully got to know her as a person, well he does know Robin a whole lot - so again the story should have concluded. So the title alone excludes Robin as the mother. I doubt they'd drag the story until they get married.

I personally think they will never show Ted marrying the mother.

see i hear thats where the 2 creators are having differences. One wants it to end in marriage, the other wants it to end when he meets her.

I hope the other one wins the case. There is absolutely no point in showing the wedding. The show can totally get away if they come up with the sweetest meeting ever for the closing shot. It would totally be in the show's spirit. The wedding would be too much and obsolete.

His kids know Aunt Robin, they would recognize the name if it's their mom. They wouldn't do that. Besides everything else (the yellow umbrella etc. would have been a lie if it's Robin)

Watched it again.....

During Robin's speech to Ted she said some interesting things......

- She told Ted, why is he rushing into this, it is almost like you want to skip to the end of the book.

- That's not the amazing ending that you deserve!

properly based on the past you would think so but tv shows sometimes are not faithful to the past.

but we already know the future of this show and the future has shown its not robin

Not really my favorite episode tonight but it was necessary to tie up the Stella storyline.

I was disappointed we never got to see Marshall's "person I don't want to see" since we saw everyone else's. Lily and Robin actually looked convincingly young in their flashback scenes.

Lily especially.

I'm so glad Stella is out of the picture. I never liked her one bit.
