Best premiere so far. Do you get Desperate Housewives simultaneously as the US? or do you have American channels?

we r a bit faster than that. Depends on the show. Fringe, heroes, 90210, house and a few more have started screening in sync with America.

I love the fact that they will actually include Edie again this season.

I enjoyed the premiere. I didn't find it amazing or anything, but it was enjoyable. There were a few laugh-out-loud moments.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
I thought it was a decent premiere. Not as bad as the taste I was left with at the end of last season.
I hope they quickly give Bree something to do because I don't think I'll be able to take her bitchiness for an entire season. It's not classic bitchy Bree.
I'm also very underwhelmed with Lynette's storyline. It is very much more of the same. And I agree that the twins are just as annoying as before.
Gaby's story has the most potential and I really hope they give it alot of meat because I'm afraid it's going to go the way of classic Gaby one-liners and mostly comic-relief.
Susan... eh. I was really hoping for something darker. I don't buy that Mike left her because she became obsessed with having killed the mother/child. But they will get back together. I just hope it's at the very end of the show and there is no one-two step between them in all the time from now till then.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
This could have been a disaster, but I think last night's episode pretty much proved that the 5 year flash-forward was a great idea. Already it's shaping up to be the best season since the first, and with introductions out of the way, it has the potential to get even better.
I even really felt for Mike/Susan. heh.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
The premiere almost felt like a different show. Which wasn't a bad thing.
DH always had great openings for the episodes. This one was probably the best one yet and it really set the mood where nothing is the same anymore as far as the setting goes, but all of the characters still act the same. Last season many called the 5 year jump jumping the shark, but it seems it might be the best thing that could've happened.
I like Gaby's story a lot. She might be fat now and might have two kids, but that doesn't stop her from crazy ideas like making her daughter run after her car to make her workout, and her daughter then shows her mother's spirit and gets on a bus. LOL. Like mother like daughter.
While Bree might be my favorite character I really don't get where her story leads. Also Katherine seems like she's been pushed back to supporting more than a lead. She wasn't given her own story, her's was more in support of Bree's newfound bitchyness than something revolving around her.
They went easy with Lynette this time, giving her the problematic twins for the first episode at least. I have no doubt she'll get another juicy and awards baity story. I'm not bothered by the new twins. But I wasn't bothered with the old ones too.
Susan has an interesting storyline and the little twist at the end (about the accident) was nice. I like that Mike isn't dead.
Edie and her new husband... Looks interesting, but I was left a bit underwhelmed about the "revelation" of her husband at the end. I just hope he won't turn out to be the husband of the woman Susan had a car crash with and wants some revenge. He's definitely here for one of the housewives and I hope Susan's story was just a big deceit for his real intentions.
DH is consistently one of the stronger shows on TV for years now. Looks like it won't cool off anytime soon.

I think that is where it is going to end up. It wouldn't be a bad storyline though.

It wouldn't be bad, but Housewives always had interesting and less predictable main mysteries. It's a part of the charm.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
So thoughts..
It's a fresh start. It felt new, and original minus a few things, it felt like the first season again and a different show like many said, which is not a bad thing.
Susan's new lover seems fun and fresh but I sincerely doubt he will last that long. I love that Mike may be out of the picture though, she really needed to get him the fuck out of her life.
Bree. Hm, not loving the storyline so far but I love how everything is taken away from her pretty much at this point.
Lynette is the same old Lynette just 5 years into the future. These twins are equally as annoying as the other ones, but just in different ways. PS, were did the other 15 kids she had go?
Edie's new husband is a character. Now either he is the husband of the woman who died in the car crash in the opening scene or he's just going to kill someone on the block, or try to.
Overall a well done premiere, it felt fresh and stuck with me. Gabrielle & Carlos still remain my favorite couple on the show, they work so.well.together, it's incredibly. Gabby's storyline was a little contreversial for me, I feel sorry for that young actress playing her daughter but it felt true to Gabby.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
Loved tonight's episode. The last scene between Bree and Orson was quite effective, and I loved the whole thing with Lynette and Porter - the last moment of that storyline was actually quite sad and touching, and I hope they resolve it on the show soon. Gaby was hilariously awesome as always, and Eva Longoria continues to be one of the best comediennes on television. I'm liking the direction the storyline with Edie's husband as well - it's very intriguing and creepy.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
I am really liking Susan's storylines so far this season. I feel like they're actually giving her things to do other than pratfalls.
Lynette's bit with chatting with one of the twins was a little odd. I don't know how I felt about it.
Still loving Gablos.
The weird scene at the end with Bree and Orson felt really off to me. It seemed weirdly out of character for both of them (him to be that aggressive, her to start crying and all).
I wish they would give Katherine more to do, she went from being front and center to doing nothing.
I'm glad Mrs. McCluskey is apparently going to be involved in the mystery with Edie's creepy husband. Yay!

It is an interesting overarching "mystery." I just wonder where they are going with Lynette. They need to start getting the women to do more together, that is when the show is at its best.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
I actually feel kinda opposite of Libs on some of the storylines.
I actually liked this episode more than the premiere. The premiere felt more underwhelming the more I thought about it.
My least favorite housewife's flash-forward story was Lynette's but I thought tonight's Lynette story was really good. Yeah, it really made me cringe but the ending was really great/sad and it's always a stronger story when Lynette does something morally suspect.
For someone who hasn't felt that Susan has been a bore the past couple seasons, I just got tired of her story this season really quick. Unless there is much more (and darker) under the "break-up/divorce" than we know, I'm just not that interested.
I felt the last scene with Bree and Orson was back to form for Housewives. It was definitely a bit chilling but I did not feel it was out of place AT ALL. I understood exactly where the emotions were coming from. Definitely a step-up from season premiere Bree.
Gaby was pretty solid, as always. They need to give her an arc though.
And I still hold some reservations about Edie's husband but I can't say I wasn't intrigued after tonight's episode (and especially loved McClusky going to Katherine at the end).
Definitely a step up from the premiere story-wise.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
While I personally liked the premiere more, the second episode was good too. I agree with Raffiki on Bree. The scene was not out of place. It was great.
And Gaby doesn't need an arc. She was always an episodic slapstick part of the show. That's where she does the best.
I said after the premiere I didn't like Katherine's story as it seemed like they pushed her back, but with McKlusky going for help to her, it might give both of them a more prominent role.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
OK, very fun episode. I'm really liking this season so far. I would go as far as saying the show hasn't been this funny and entertaining since maybe the first season.
Susan and Gaby's catfight was hilarious. Susan especially brought the funny. "She's fat for your age, Gaby." Considering Susan and Gaby are usually the ones who have the frustrating or annoying storylines, it's really nice to see all of the good material they're getting.
Lynette truly sunk to a new low when she framed her daughter for breaking Tom's guitar. Eesh. I wish they would make her less annoying with things like this, the character bothers me when she's always so petty.
I feel bad that Bree and Orson are being deprived of seeing their grandchild/sort of former child. Danielle doesn't seem like a lunatic like she did when she was a teenager, though. I did love when Bree mentioned that Benjamin would soon surpass Danielle's reading level in 6 months or whatever after she said he was reading at a 3rd-grade level.
Creepy Dave is still creepy.

Excellent episode tonight! It was often laugh-out-loud hilarious, I loved the fight between Gaby and Susan - and the storylines this season seem to be great. The Orson and Bree relationship is really interesting to watch this season, and Dave continues to be an incredibly creepy and intriguing character. I can't wait to see where his character goes, the last scene where he began his plot against Mrs. McCluskey was quite chilling.

Re: Desperate Housewives (Season 5) - Promo out.
Good episode overall. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's back to top form but some of the elements are there. So far, Bree and Orson is turning out to be the best or most interesting development for me. The chill was much more subtle in this episode than last week's but I feel it growing. I have to admit they are doing a great job with the intrigue on Dave and what must be building up to be the mystery this season. It's building up quite slowly but effectively. Lynette is hit and miss so far this season. She desperately needs an arc, moreso than Gaby as I had mentioned last week. I guess Gaby does do well with one-episode stories but Lynette seems something more. Gaby and Susan were fine. Is it just me or are there like way too many kids on this show now? And we thought we were getting rid of alot of them with the twins and the satan girl gone.

Definitely the best episode of the season so far. DH is consistently one of the high quality shows every season.
The only weak link is Lynette. Everyone profited from the five year jump. She still has same-old stories. But the ending conclusion was almost frightening.
