I just watched it and I must say, despite the fact that I found last season disappointing and still maintain that an hour is too long for this show, I really enjoyed the episode tonight. The weight loss thing was HILARIOUS - I loved Creed and especially Kelly. I loved the scene with Kelly where she was trying to make Ryan jealous, classic. All of the supporting characters are continuously awesome and really make this show worth watching. I also really like Amy Ryan's character as well. But the definite highlight of the episode was Jim finally proposing to Pam! :wub2: I got so excited when he bent down on one knee - the scene was perfectly executed, very well-shot and incredibly effective. I'm not ashamed to admit that I teared up a little bit. LOVED it. That whole sequence basically increased my enjoyment of this episode a great deal.

Anyways, a solid start to what is hopefully a great season.

yeah this episode didn't feel stretched at all. Maybe because it covered the whole summer, but it felt like a needed hour, not a dragged out one like the first 4 of last season

It was okay. I was kinda disappointed but the Office usually gets better the second time.

I thought it was a very decent start. Definitely agree with comments that ti didn't feel stretched out.

Kelly was hilarious and easily the best thing about the episode. I'm so glad they didn't infuse some cheap cliche drama with Pam having second thoughts about Jim after experiencing a "new life" in NY.

I liked it. Did anyone notice that Daryl seemed near death? He has gained a lot of weight and his voice lacked any force.

LOVED the episode as well. The whole diet plot was genius. I thought Oscar topped everyone last nite. Loved how Dwight left Phyllis 5 miles away from Dunder Mifflin. Plus Michael growing the beard thing just because he saw Ryan. And Ryan as secretary lol!! So did the one lady they had as secretary get fired real quick then or did she leave?

That was a totally bizarre episode. Pretty much no laughs.

I also just finished watching season 2 of 30 rock today.

There were alot of great episodes even if the season wasn't the most consistent. I don't get how anyone can't love Tina Fey.

Does anyone else think that her SNL skits of late will give 30 Rock a bump? I wonder how many viewers the Oprah episode will get. Has she ever been on a show like this?

Yeah I think 30 Rock will get a bump but it would have gotten more of a bump if it were on the air right now when she's red hot.

I thought Thursday's episode of "The Office" was one of the funniest in a long, long time.
