loyalfromlondon wrote: Jedi Master Carr wrote: I kind of wish they had held off and made it a shocker but I guess they figure it would leak out anyway. I read this from the LA Times
“There was no such clock when Tony died in Jack's arms and this was deliberate, executive producer Howard Gordon wrote in an e-mail to The Times this afternoon.
"We didn't give him the silent clock because we always wanted to keep alive the possibility for some kind of (admittedly) miraculous resurrection ... which we will explain," Gordon wrote. "He's definitely NOT the Almeida we once knew."
I am not sure what that last line means. I think it is very ambigious. Some 24 fans are thinking it might mean Tony is going to become a bad guy. I don't think it necessary means that. It could mean he is down and out drunk who wants nothing to do with Jack anymore. Another possibility is he is testifying against Jack at his trial. I think the later actually make some sense. I could see Tony having some bitterness against Jack at least for a while. Tony was drunk and down before, that wouldnt be new. I'm not happy about the definitely NOT the Almeida we once knew bit. Well that is why I am thinking it might be about the trial part. It is possible that he testifies against Jack and that is how Jack finds out he is still alive. He could be bitter against Jack. I could see that working and maybe he comes around later in the season to help Jack.

So it seems that the main premise, or at least the main catalyst in the beginning of Day Seven is all about Tony Almeida.

And what's all this about a silent clock? So he didn't get one when he died... he was still bloody dead! I imagine the 24 fans who are using the silent clock argument to justify completely ridiculous character reappearances would be just as gullible had Tony been blown to pieces by a bomb.
"Sure his body was completely torn apart and his brains were on Kiefer's face... but I didn't see no silent clock, did you? He'll be back next season." I don't think Tony's death was that clear. I mean he had got injected with some unknown chemical. his death was also very lame and dumb. I think they realized they screwed that us and that is why they are bringing him back. I dont remember it exactly as I only saw it on TV, but I thought he was injected with air by the heart, which would cause an explosion internally.

Maybe they could move the focus over to Tony for a few episodes while Jack is being held hostage or taking a nap? Either way, this would be a really bad time for LA to smarten up and give a celebrity their comeuppance.

And the other 30 days must be served by July 2008. I figure he serves that either after the season is over or during the possible Writer's strike.

BILL! As much as season 6 blew (Something I actually admitted halfway thought the season), I still look forward to this, resurrected Tony and all. BTW, season 7 trailer premieres Thursday.

It'll probably be revealed 5 episodes in that he's a good guy, just undercover... or somethin
I don't know, I don't watch this show

Come on!
First they resurrect him, then make him a villain?
Yeah though, ofcourse, have no doubt he'll turned out to be good at the end.

Another RoboCop actor! This is giving me a Live Free or Die Hard vibe. Not sure if that's good or not. loyal, is that Bill in the first shot you posted? Looks like it....

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
I can actually see why Tony would become bad
he has pretty much been put through the same b.s as Bauer has. He's was screwed over by the government, lost his job, briefly sent to prison, had his wife killed. He is what Bauer would be if Bauer turned to 'the dark side'.

Tony being bad is giving me an Alec Trevelyan vibe. Again, not sure if that's good or not.
At least they're changing things up dramatically this season...

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
The trailer looks promising to me. I kind of wanted Kurtwood Smith to join in Season 5 (you know, the one with gazillion Robocop actors in it), but I guess it's better late than never. If only That 70's Show ended earlier.

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
The trailer looks extremely promising to me. That's the 24 that I'm looking for. No CTU. Hopefully an interesting presidential storyline. And maybe Jack will kick some ass this year. Last year, he kind of lost it after Hour 4.
I hope Bill and Chloe are brought back in a good way, and not a "we've brought 'em back cause fans love 'em" way.
Still wish Tony had been brought back at the end of Season 6 though. Just feels... anticlimatic that he's being advertised in the trailer.

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
Tony will probably end up either being a Vigilante like The Punisher or undercover. I heard one spoiler that mentioned something about this evil African warlord who is visiting with the president about some treaty. It is possible that Tony is after him and that is why he is taking over Airlines to take over control the plane the man is on.

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
I'm very excited for this season. That trailer was awesome and Tony was always the most bad ass besides Jack. my only concern is the plot looks identical to Live Free or Die Hard.

I wouldnt be surprised if Tony is still dead, but someone stole his identity. That would be a great mind fuck. He looked heavier and did have a suspicious scar over his eye.

Re: The 24 Season 7 Spoiler Thread
So with only 8 episodes filmed and the strike well underway. Do you think they'll postpone season 7 until January 09?
