The premiere is on Thursday, right? Because the tv insert in the Miami Herald said there's a 2 hour premiere of some reality show.

I guess I must have been looking at Wednesday. Either that or they made a mistake in the insert. They did make a mistake in the fall schedule, so it's very possible.

It premieres TONIGHT! Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to watch it until tomorrow.
But here's a funny YouTube-only promo:

Whatever happened to that competition to make your own Office promo?

"Or Tim Anderson here, came all the way from Australia just to do a 'Heroes' promo."
"Actually, I've lived here eight years..."
"Hey, sorry about the Crocodile Hunter. You still have Colin Farrell, though."
"Yeah... he's Iri-"
"'Heroes', Mondays at 9."
Awesome promo.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed. There were some good lines but it all seemed off kilter. It didn't seem realistic and natural like it did last season.

I posted this in the "Grade the season premiere's" thread, but I'll post it here.
The Office (A-) - Don't get me wrong, tonight's episode was very good, but I thought the Pam/Jim/Roy triangle was an absolute copout. I thought it would've been interesting for the two to interact in the office after that kiss, but they went the other and ultimately more boring route. That saying, I like that they brought Ed Helms. I hope somewhere down the line this season that both Jim and Helms' character (I forget his name) are transferred back to the Scranton office.
That saying though, it was still a very high quality episode. If they keep these up, they'll be in good shape, but I do think they ned to fix the Pam/Jim/Roy triangle and pretty soon. I think they could go half a year like this, but no longer.

I wonder when The Office UK crossover is taking place. November sweeps is the obvious choice.

Yep. Total lack of creativity on that issue.

I was just so happy to get these characters back. It was just as funny as ever, and I don't mind the unbelievability of it. Greg Daniels said something on his MySpace that makes sense. Quote: I don't think all the branches have been filmed all along. I think the docu crew is chasing the story. they probably had to apply to their bosses for extra funding to send the crew to Stamford and follow Jim. But they know that Jim is really important to the show and they will follow him now wherever he goes.
And the Jim/Pam/Roy thing might have been a cop out, but they're giving Roy much more depth now, and making him real competition for Jim. (Yes, I know, I'm saying that after his 5 second scene, but that line about Pam was great.)

Thing is, I don't want the small characters like Oscar and Roy to become bigger and more important. The show is only 21 minutes long, they need to focus on the core.
I thought the British version of Roy was better, he was a lot less nice, and it added something.

I think I'm going to be with the consensus here in that I thought it was a good episode, but I was underwhelmed with the Jim/Pam thing.
I actually like that Pam called off the wedding (in light of the kiss) and that the show isn't still working its way up to that. But I wanted something bigger. Maybe I just don't like Pam & Jim not to be together. Hope this doesn't turn into a Rory/Lorelai-type thing.
Still the best premiere I've seen so far this season. (Haven't watched Grey's yet, though.)

Don't get your hopes up about Grey's.
The thing is, I love the little characters. I love that this really is an ensemble show. The other office folk are just as funny and wonderful as Michael, Jim, Pam and Dwight. Those four are obviously still the core, but the rest amuse me so much. And they can't rush Jim and Pam, and they obviously aren't going to keep Jim away completely or at least not for too long, so I'm very happy with this.

Great episode.
I actually quite like the way they're treating the Jim/Pam thing. I didn't think they'd go ahead with Jim leaving, but apparently they did. And it works quite well.
Also, the gaydar? Absolute genius.

I figured you'd like it since it was closer to the British tone of the series. I guess if people liked the first 6 season 1 episodes then they'd like this but I didn't like those episodes all that much.
From my angle they seem to be making the same mistakes Lost made in it's second season. Maybe Michael will show up and shoot some of them later.

Well, in my defense, I wasn't really a fan of the British Office. In fact, I strongly disliked it. And I hated the first ep' of the American series - mainly because it was a remake of an old British episode.
I think it's a little early to say they're dropping the ball or falling in the Lost trap. As far as I can see it's not all that different from what's gone before. Everything that happened in the first ep seemed like a natural progression.

By the way, deleted scenes for this episode can be seen here (after a short commercial).

Good to see Jim coming back next week. I thought they were going to go at least half a year with him being seperated from everyone else. Then I realized he was seperated from them, because John Krasinski was filming that movie with Robin Williams.
So does that mean that article was fake where one of the writers (Or creator, I forget) said that Jim and Pam would be texting each other all year?

I'm not sure what you are talking about, are you saying you saw an ad for next week where he's coming back? I figured they'd play out the stamford stuff for at least 8 or 9 episodes.
