Yeah, it was a great episode.

Slave was hot, MATM was epic, Stronger was my favorite, Toxic was wonderful, even the Paramore song was good, but holy shit, BOMT was complete shit, please shoot that gir.

I wasn't crazy about Stronger. Artie annoys me :P. If I bought the Glee soundtrack for this episode (if they eventually release one like they did with the Madonna episode) I would skip that song.

fun episode but the reshoots of britney videos did little for the plot of the show. I liked the last song so much. never heard it so didn't know it wasn't a britney song.

I thought it was a bit of a misfire. No plot development whatsoever. Except Rachel and Finn but they always get more time. Brittany is still old dumb blonde, no depth added whatsoever and this was supposedly her episode. Britney was fun - but what was the point?

This certainly didn't turn out like Madonna centric episode. Oh and it was fun that Sue was all pro-Madonna and against Britney. Possibly the only good spin of this whole (very disappointing) episode.

All songs were pretty much subpar even for Glee standards (too much autotune and BOMT was a disaster). I did like Toxic very much though.

The first tribute episode turned just as I feared - everything suffered just so Britney songs could've been used. I think this could've turned out much, much, much better.

What song was that? Are you talking about the one Rachel was singing? If so that's not a Britney song.

A lot of GLEE fans seem to have hated this episode. Not sure why. If you like it most of the time I have no clue why you'd dislike this one. The only thing I had a difficult time swallowing is the fact that all of the kids in glee club loved Britney Spears. Seriously? Most teens these days trash her. Some of the guys didn't even want to do Lady Gaga last season during the Gaga episode, but they were more than happy to do Britney Spears music? It didn't make any sense. And why would Rachel be a Britney fan?

I do agree that this episode didn't serve any purpose as far as moving the plot forward. It was just fun to watch. However, I am kind of sick of "theme" episodes. They need to stop doing them so often.

As a teen in high school, I can say that most teens, at least around here, in fact do like her to some degree, especially the girls. "...Baby One More Time", when played at a social event, gets sang along by most people, even straight guys.

I thought tonight's episode was horrible. :P

Rachel needs to be punched in the face. End of discussion. She is now the show's downfall and despite me loving Lea Michele, every time she appears on screen I just want her to go away. I wish Finn would break up with her already, he is way too good for her and he belongs with Quinn, who remains my favorite character by far.

Kurt's storyline was dragged down due to the fact that he was a whinny bitch, even more than usual. He was absolutely horrible to his Glee-mates and if I were them I just would have left him alone because he was acting just wrong. He did have a couple good moments however; the first scene with him in the hospital when he was telling his father to squeeze his hand was heartfelt, but cut short due to a random commercial break, and his number was very good.

Besides "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," the musical numbers were awful. Very corny. Rachel's number was horrendous and made me want to pull her by the hair and drown her. ;) And the last number... UGH.

Next week's episode doesn't look too bad but I'm loosing so much interest in this show and all my hope for it has pretty much gone down the tubes. The premiere was solid but the Britney episode was mediocre and this was just bad. This used to be a great show, something I looked forward to week after week, now I just feel obligated to watch it.

What was so hard about people respecting Kurt's wishes to not visit their gods on him and his father? He only had to say it about a million times, and they still didn't listen. I just don't understand. He didn't want it, but everyone decided not to respect his wishes because they knew better on the subject because they believed? Huh?

Also, there are such things as atheists/agnostics who got to that point through pure thought process/reading/personal choice. It isn't as if the only route to a godless existence is some reactionary "well, something bad happened and I got no response to my prayers so there must be no god!!"

As for the show itself, this was the fourth Glee episode I've seen (after the Pilot, the Joss Whedon/NPH ep, and last week's Britney one--that one wasn't by choice:) and I'm still a bit puzzled by what's so awesome. I mean, I guess it is unique enough to fill a niche but in and of itself this isn't exactly high quality. That football player, Finn, seems kind of mentally deficient (even without praying to a grilled cheese sandwich).

Jane Lynch made me laugh out loud a few times, of course, but she's pretty fuckin' funny all by herself so it isn't as if this show is the reason.

"Grilled Cheesus"=one of my favorite episodes of Glee. I really think, for an episode about religion, it avoided being overly preachy or obnoxious. Like, I appreciated that the episode ended with Kurt still not believing in God and Finn having doubts. Speaking of Finn, the grilled cheese concept itself was a tad silly but I liked "Losing My Religion" quite a bit. Even though that song isn't about religion...which I feel like no one on this show understood.

Chris Colfer was definitely the MVP of the episode. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was absolutely beautiful. And oh my, the flashback footage. Lovely. Done and done.

I also may or may not have teared up during Sue's scene with her sister. It is a testament to Jane Lynch that she can play someone as over-the-top as Sue (lol at Mary Lou Retton being her greatest enemy) and still provoke an emotional response from a viewer.

I found Mercedes a bit too self-righteous (which is kind of par for the course for her character) but unlike others, did not think she was acting that way in the church scene...she wasn't trying to call Kurt out but instead "welcome" him. Amber Riley's renditions of "I Look to You" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" were heartfelt and well-done.

"Only the Good Die Young" was a lot of fun and I love Puck, of course. Glad it was the first song because it would've been jarring otherwise.

Also, "One of Us" was awesome and I wish the actual episode hadn't cut it down so much. They didn't even leave Kurt's solo in, which would've helped round things out more.

I really liked all of Emma's scenes tonight. Jayma Mays consistently gives a nicely understated performance that seems to go unnoticed by a lot of people.

I thought the episode's only big misstep was having Rachel sing "Papa Can You Hear Me" by Burt's bed, which came across as borderline creepy. Had she even met him before?

Still...I adored this episode.

Yeah, this episode was great. The only complain I have was that first number by Mark. yuck. But I loved how it represented both the religious and the atheist point of view equally. What show has the guts to do that these days?! go glee!

And Duets next weeks! can't freaking wait!!

Good episode. The only lame part was Rachel's "Papa" song. WTF was that? And why was she singing it in the hospital like it was one of her's dads that got sick? It's not like she ever showed much interest towards Kurt. That moment felt forced to give Lea Michele a big song without no apparent reason.

Glee is on a roll because last night's episode was great (and Sue wasn't even in it)! Hope they can keep it up.

Loved pretty much all of the musical numbers. Finn and Rachel's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" was cute, but I was absolutely dying at their "With You I'm Born Again" performance. So funny. And then Rachel and Kurt's "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy" was sublime.

And I also loved Le Jazz Hot. Chris Colfer is really really good this season.

Mercedes and Santana's "River Deep Mountain High" was made of fierce. Also, Brittany continues to be one of the best characters ever (and am I weird for simultaneously laughing and saying "aww" when she was eating the spaghetti by herself at the end?).

I'm really glad they addressed the whole Kurt/Finn issue from last season, because Kurt was really acting kind of creepy in that whole situation and the show seemed to acknowledge that finally.

Mike Chang sings! Sort of. That was creative.

I'm also really digging Quinn and Sam. I love "Lucky" (even though Mercedes and Santana should totally have won), and the song works really well for Dianna Agron's simple but pretty voice.

Probably best episode since The Power of Madonna. With Rocky Horror Picture Show episode in two weeks, Glee is sure to keep momemtum going at least for the first half of this season.

oh I agree with all of your comments on the musical numbers, Libs. I die everytime Rachel sings; she's amazing. I don't get the hate for her at all.

And Kurt is proving he was more than deserving of his emmy nomination last year. He was beyond fantastic last night.

An excellent episode and best one so far this season! All the musical numbers were either really great of very good. The best two by far were Mercedes' and Santana's "River Deep, Mountain High" and slightly less good (but still great) Kurt's "Le Jazz Hot!". But the contest was definitely Mercedes' and Santana's to lose. Also if everyone voted for themselves then Rachel and Finn didn't have to go through all of the trouble of embarrassed themselves, they could've thrown the contest either way.

There was a lot happening with the characters and their relationships. This shows is at its best when tackling actual human interaction and doesn't try to conform to a certain mold so it could fit with a theme without actually going somewhere (looks at Brittany/Britney episode).

Also Rachel actually was sweet in this episode. It was still obsessively selfish old self but not as obnoxious as she came off in these first three episodes.

I totally agree with you 100%. Unlike movies35, I didn't think Kurt was being a "whiny bitch" at all. I know they were trying to help, but everyone was acting pretty self-righteous in doing so. As a non-believer I feel the exact same way when people try to shove religion down my throat. I couldn't believe everyone was acting like it was such a big deal he didn't believe in God.

Anyway, I didn't care much for the first half of Grilled Cheesus, but the second half was good. The sequence with Kurt singing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was great. Rachel sucked. Hated whenever she was singing.

Last week's episode was very enjoyable. God I love Brittany. And Rachel didn't annoy me this time. She was actually nice in the end when it came to Kurt, which made me kind of like her again. Kind of. We'll see if I'll go back to being annoyed by her in future episodes or not.

Can't wait for the Rocky Horror episode. So sad there's no new episode this week.

The Rocky Horror covers were a bit weak.

Do they change the lyrics often in the show? Only "Dammit, Janet" was unchanged I think.

I've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show so I wouldn't know anything about changed lyrics, but they don't usually change lyrics at all. They only do shorter versions of songs sometimes, thus removing some of the yrics but changing them? I don't think so.

All in all I think this was slightly better than the Britney tribute as stuff actually happened in this episode, but still the two tribute episodes are by far the weakest ones this season. The songs just didn't mesh well with the plot again.

I have to listen to the all songs again, but I know Sweet Transvestite and Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me were changed a little.

I do think the show is at its best when it is not given a specific theme of songs. But last night was very enjoyable. "Duets" by far though has been the best episode this season.

I am loving the racy content that Brittany and Santana are providing.

oh, and those abs on Sam were delish! yum yum

Also when Mercedes stepped in to play Furkenweenyerter (or whatever that name was) I expected that they would do an interesting spin considering a female was playing a drag man. But I was surprised to see a female in a drag costume because Mercedes pretty much still looked like a female...

I am no Rocky Horror connoisseur by any means but I definitely enjoyed this episode, even if it was a spastic mess like the tribute episodes seem to be. All of the music really is pretty good...John Stamos sounded pretty good on "Hot Patootie" (I've never heard him really sing, other than Uncle Jesse lol), LOVED Emma on "Touch-A Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me" (perfect for Jayma Mays' voice), and of course, "Time Warp." I don't think Mercedes and "Sweet Transvestite" worked at all, though.

Also, Matthew Morrison should really be wearing no clothes all the time to makeup for Will's shortcomings as a character.

Maybe it's my love of Rocky Horror influencing me, but I thought this was the best "tribute" episode so far. It certainly felt the least forced and integrated the songs better than any of the previous ones.
