Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Yeah, I think it's a red herring too, though Stella would be a good candidate.
I thought, overall though, that was a sorry waste of an episode. Such blatant filler/stalling. Though Marshall's obsessions with charts was hilarious... "Here is a pie graph of my favorite bars. And here is a bar graph of my favorite pies." And the return of the intervention was LOL.
Is next week the finale?

Is next week the finale? Two more episodes, May 18 is apparently the finale. Alyson Hannigan won't appear in next week's either but she'll be back for the finale.

That business with the charts is one of the most uproarious gags the show's ever done.
"This represents the percentage of people who are breakin' my heart. This represents the percentage of people who are shakin' my confidence daily. Where they overlap: CECILIA."

I didn't get it either and thought they were referring to some minor character I'd forgotten about. It turns out it's some Simon and Garfunkel song. I guess it worked for the 10% of the audience that was familiar with it. It was a good episode overall.

My friend just started dating a Cecilia, so I've been singing the song for the last two weeks or so. It was a nice touch, HIMYM.

It wasn't a red umbrella though. I never liked Stella. I'm hoping it's not her.

A book you would love: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pop-Charts-Paul-Copperwaite/dp/1844036642Good episode, though I agree a bit of a filler ep. Also a bit weaker gag wise than recent eps have been, but then that's destined to be the case when it's a Ted ep.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Terrible episode! Not funny, and it indulged in the worst kind of HIMYM "yeah I know we told you this was an important moment but it sure doesn't seem like it, now shush" plotting. Blah.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
wow, nobody?
Alright... I thought it was a good finale. They've had some super-amazing episodes this year (Interventions, Naked Man, Woo Girls, both the ones with Donna from that 70's show) and the finale didn't really top those but I liked it alot.
Barney and Robin completely made this episodes. Touching and hilarious at the same time. Robin is for sure my favorite character on the show.
It was great to have Lily back and the little nod to her pregnancy ("I know you've put on a little weight lately") was priceless!!
The goat and Ted were funny. Just enough to not be a disappointment after 3 years of build up for "the goat" but was definitely a little let down by the "cliffhanger" reveal. I guess it is something solid, but they could still easily give the show another season or 2 without directly addressing the mother issue.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
I really adored this episode. It wasn't laugh-out-loud funny, but it really did everything right a season finale has to do.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Awwww, I loved the finale.
I wasn't let down after all the build up with the goat. Something about a female goat attacking Ted just makes me laugh in concept, if not execution.
Loved Marshall attempting to make the leap to the other patio and then, yes, the nod to Alyson Hannigan's pregnancy when Lily lied she was pregnant.
Robin and Barney=yessssssssss. I love them together, so much.
Ted is Professor Ted now! And The Mother is in his class. Oooh I'm excited. I'm gonna miss HIMYM over the summer.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
What a nice finale.
I love Lily (and Alyson Hannihan) so much. Glad she was in the entire finale. She brings such warmness to the show, same with when she was on Buffy.
Marshall attempt at jumping was great and the ending was really nice.
Love Robin and Barney of course and Mosbying thingy was funny.
ANDDD here comes another season of the back and forth and us never find out who this mother is.

Agreed. It'll be nice when we finally find out who she is, but the show is so just so awesome and pleasant regardless.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Up until Lily's final speech the finale was a let down. From then on I again felt that warmth around my heart as only HIMYM is able to induce.
That being said, the goat story was handled awful. After years of build up that's the scene we get? Probably the biggest failure of HIMYM writers ever.
