I watched it for the first time in ages. It was okay, not bad not great but watchable enough.

I hope they got the license plate number of the truck that ran over Justine Bateman. Wow - she's aged really ungracefully.

I don't buy the story that Delaney's girl died and a new kid was adopted from a Romanian orphanage. Unless the show gave convincing evidence of that in previous episodes that I didn't see, it just seemed like a lot of b.s. and it will be revealed next season that the girl is her real daughter.

Considering that the show is jumping five years into the future beginning next season and the actress playing the daughter is not returning, I doubt that.

Yeah and more importantly, since posting that I've learned that earlier this season there were scenes on the show that make it seem very likely the adoption story is true.

I've gotta say, I agree with Raffi. It didn't work as a 2-hour block, ABC should have aired the finale next week. Having said that, it was still had a great conclusion despite the OTTness of the Dylan death.

My thoughts on the 5-year thing. It's the best thing they could have done, instead of getting another "mysterious" resident to Wisteria Lane. I would of changed the stories around a little bit with Lynette and Susan.

I would have preferred if Lynette was with another husband. Danielle coming back to get Benjamin. Gabrielle struggling at a new job at Wal-Mart. Katherine being everyone's favourite resident. and Susan returning to Wisteria Lane after a long absence.

...but we will see how it goes. It would be interesting to see what Edie is up to as well.

I just saw the finale and I thought it was the best finale I've seen in years. It wasn't at tight with the main storylines, it had a lot of things going on the sides, but each and every one of those scenes were done magnificently. I bow to DH... Fall can't come soon enough.

So I finally watched it; thoughts..

This shouldn't have been two hours. They should have at least shortened the first hour because, not that it was pointless.. it just wasn't as amazing as the last half hour was. The build up was great though.

That being said, the last half hour was.. intense to say the least. The scene, with Katherine, Wayne and Bree was the best scene I've seen on the show in a while, maybe since the Bang episode.

Susan has to be the most likable character on TV, seriously Hatcher is due for another Emmy. I just don't like her situation with the 5 years later thing (getting on that later). She never seemed like the type to do that. We'll see how it goes.

The 5 year situation was brilliant. Like getluv, what were they going to do the same thing year after year. It really spices it up. Lynette in 5 years was hilarious, so typical yet it wouldn't feel just without one of the kids causing shit.

Happy to see Bree and Orson did work it out, liked them together.

Gabby in 5 years is such a drastic change but I think they needed to go there as here story line got paper thin.

Katherine in 5 years seems good, she's in a happy place.

Overall, great finale. Especially the last half hour, and I can't wait for fall to come. Seriously DHW is back on top.

The best season yet by a mile. LOVED it.

However, the finale's cliffhanger was not my favourite thing ever. I really enjoyed the finale as a whole, but the cliffhanger thing is a problem for me for a number of reasons.

1. I don't know about Bree being this big career woman. Its a huge shift in her character.
2. Susan without Mike and her daughter = the biggest mistake the show could have made, but keeping her apart from Mike is clever, it gives a bigger payoff when teh show finally bows out and they inevitably reunite.
3. Lynette's story looks fine
4. Gabis could go either way, either people will hate her kids or people will love that new side of her. I just hope that they deal with it sensibly and maintain some glamour for gabi, as she is the SJP of the show.
5. Katherine has actually become the best character this season I feel. Great writing for her and I can't wait to see if shes going to remain relevant now her story arc has concluded.
6. Where the fuck is Edie? No. Bring Edie back. I wont stand for her being shipped out of the show.

I feel like in this case where a show is clearly being overhauled so much that it is either going to majorly jump the shark or actually sustain it and take it in a great new direction. But i have the theory that if its not broke, dont try to fix it, and DH Worked astonishingly well this season on its current formula simply being refined.

This article illuminates some details of the five-year jump. One thing I noticed is that Andrea Bowen (Julie) will not be returning next season, which I found interesting because the actress has been a series regular since the show's start (the only one of the "child of a housewife" with that status).

To be honest im very worried about next season. Taking out so many components of the shows chemistry and trying something new is very dangerous, and we all know what usually happens when a show takes a "radical new direction"

Wow wow wow

Dana Delany was phenomenal in the episode tonight. I did think the explanation as to what happened in the past with Real Dylan (crushed under a cabinet?!) was a little over-the-top, even for this show, though.

And...wow! They really are going five years in the future when the show comes back. Honestly, I think that's a great idea, it'll open up some interesting possibilities.

Were we supposed to infer Gaby had those two children herself? One of them looked Asian, so maybe they're adopted. They looked a little old for only being five years in the future.

Bree is back together with Orson, yay. Obviously.

The annoying child actors playing Lynette's kids are out of the picture if it's five years later now! Yes!

So Susan is apparently lovers with that guy from Queer as Folk in five years? Is it possible they're writing Mike out of the show? Can I please hope for that?

AHHHH CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON

Didnt Carlos sleep with the Asian maid? I feel thats where the asian kid came from.

I dont care that Mike is a very vanilla character, hes the stock romantic interest, and hes sure as hell preferable to Michael Vartan. Ugh.

Is Carlos still blind? Is he still with Gaby?

If you're referring to five years later, he wasn't seen so that is unknown. He was before that time jump though.
