Holy crap...I'm reading this summary that Libs gave me, and this sounds like something out of the movie Scavenger Hunt so far. (one of my all time favorite comedies) Lynn DOES sound like he's a big ass...

I'm assuming Lynn is the one I drew the horns and beard on, right? He just looks like somebody that wouldn't be very cool at all, and Alex seems likehe might be under Lynn's influence. Is that an accurate perception?

The main problem with Lynn and Alex (mostly Lynn):

They talk about Rob and Amber, another team. Like...a lot. Too much. You see, Rob and Amber were both contestants on Survivor at one point, and were both on the All-Stars season, where they fell in love; Rob got runner-up while Amber won, so there was a grudge against them before the race even started because they don't need the money as much. Basically, Lynn spends about 55 minutes of every leg talking about how much he wants to beat Rob and Amber, how pathetic Rob and Amber are, how mean Rob and Amber are, how stupid Rob and Amber are, etc.

It gets to the point where you want to like Rob and Amber even if you don't just to spite Lynn.

But not QUITE.

hehe

HATE Rob and Amby!!!! They are just an average, dull, couple that are trying to milk their 15 minutes of fame. I also hate the fact that we're all supposed to love and adore the fact that they're winning millions. Prescribed values! Someone gag me with a pitch-fork!

And btw, has Amber had more then three lines in any episode?!

Average and dull?! AVERAGE AND DULL?! Argh. They placed first in four legs (well three, but they were there first the last episode which turned out to be a two part leg of some sort), so I don't think they're just average. And dull? Come on now. Hate them all you want, but average and dull is not Rob and Amber! ... *shuts up now* :-#

The couple is dull! There are like 27 couples at my high school that are just like Rob and Amber. There is nothing that makes them special, other then the fact that they were on Survivor and The Amazing Race. And once again: Amber only gets, like, 1/1000th of the screen time that Rob does.

By the same token one could say there's nothing 'special' about many of the teams that have ever raced. Brian and Greg? Well they are just Brothers. Meredith and Gretchen? Just old. The list can go on and on and preceeds back to TAR1. Would they have gotten cast if they weren't on Survivor? I don't know, it's possible. Nothing they've done has shown to me that they are incredibly worse or less interesting than teams of seasons past.

I'm learning to like Amber a lot more during TAR than I ever did during S2. I'd take 1000 dull Rob and Amber's over a single Ray and Deana, Jonathan and Victoria, Flo and Zach....

Whoa, whoa, whoa, AgentX, I did NOT say that I find Meredith and Gretchen more interesting then Rob and Amber!

To be honest: I'm just sick of them. You don't see Gretchen's scraped-up mug all over cearal boxes and magazine covers do you? I could go on and on about how boring a lot of other reality-tv contestants are, but the fact is, they don't over-stay their welcome.

I don't know, maybe I'm still seething at the fact that Amber, the least desreving All-Star callback (IMO!), managed to win the whole thing, and did so by freeloading off her man. Maybe it's because they're being treated like reality star royalty whenever they get noticed by one of the locals. Or maybe it's because I can't stand the fact that so many people love them for being...well...Rob and Amber!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I didn't say you did. I was just saying how one could make the argument that those teams that I mentioned, and many others, aren't 'special' either.

Tonight's the night! (I'll probably forget it's on and miss it. #-o)

I wanted to comment on Lynn and Alex once more. It seems like everybody here wants them eliminated, and I would think that would make the show less interesting. The best Bond movies are the ones with the great villians. If you don't have great villians, you don't really have as much reason to root for the good guys.

The show itself (i.e. the editing) actually paints Rob and Amber as the villains this season, not Lynn and Alex.

At least I know better.

Sounds like the producers missed a golden opportunity. Seems like Rob and Amber could have been played up as heroes, due to Survivor. America's sweethearts types, fighting off the evil claws of Lynn and Alex. Dangit, that's good TV there.

The problem with playing Rob and Amber as the sweethearts is that a lot of people were going to hate them no matter what they did. They were on a reality show twice before and have had their shot at a million dollars, with Amber winning it, so some thought they were just 'famewhores'. Many of the racers hated Rob and Amber immediately for that reason and wanted them gone because of it.

I don't care if they were on a show before, if I got the opportunity to go on TAR you better believe I would, regardless of what I did previously. I mean no one's faulting Brian (or is it Greg...) for having been on Fear Factor.

haha...as if you have to be on more than one reality show to meet the criteria of a fame whore.

The thing about Lynn and Alex is that they aren't even good villains, let alone great ones. To use the Bond metaphor, they would fail henchmen school.

Rob and Amber are antiheroes at this point, the closest thing TAR has to villains this season.

Yeah, I agree.

Lynn and Alex aren't villainous, they're (well, mainly Lynn) just really annoying. You'll see tonight, Mav.

I like the gay guys, they are annoying but they are entertaining. I like Rob and Amber also, they add some fun to the show. I'm looking forward to tonights episode.

Entertaining in The Birdcage sort of way? :-k I guess.

But you can watch Queer Eye for that. I prefer my TAR gay teams like Chip and Richen and Team Guido.

Smart, fierce, fashionable and Fabbbbbbbbbbulous.

I'd add Danny and Oswald to that list, they were great in TAR2.

The descriptions of Lynn sound like the way BKB is often described. He's not exactly villianous either, just an annoyance to some, but he adds spice in the process, and all of the talk of Lynn here sounds like he's pretty similiar. I guess seeing him with my own ears will be the best way for me to understand why y'all think he's so bad.

So... is tonight non-elimination, or do they usually have non-elimination on the last show, in the first hour of a two-hour broadcast? I don't really know. I hope tonight isn't non-elimination.

The last two seasons have had one team getting booted in the first hour of the finale, leaving a 3-team race for the win in the final hour.

I read the finale is going to be on May 10. It looks like over the next three weeks, we'll have two non-elimination legs and one elimination, leaving us a 2-hour finale with 3 teams on May 10. Don't count on tonight being an elimination leg.

That sucks. They should have put the show on a week later, and made these two episodes a two hour show, like that non-elimination round a few weeks ago. So, not even the end of a leg last week, and now no elimination this week! Darn. Well... I know that's not confirmed, but it makes sense that this is non-elimination tonight.

Why do they have nonelimination in the first place? It just makes the show you just watched for an hour seem kinda pointless... but nonetheless I love the show anyway.
