I'd have to agree and say that's a smart prediction. Someone else will most probably die from the original main characters and he's the best candidate. And I kinda like that Kate doesn't end up with either... or so we are led to believe as of now. I want her to end up with Sawyer and then I want it to come to a tragic end... that would be the best in terms of story, for me at least.

By the way, did Dominic Monoghan look hot or what???? He looked so different!!

I'm utterly shocked that this thread has not moved more than a page already. Did anyone else watch it? I'm dying of anticipation for the numbers to come in. I know we're due for disappointment though. I say 15.5-17 million

Good episode overall. Very good. But this whole flash forward business might end up being too tricky, even for Lost. I have the sense that by Season 5, people will be saying "Fuck the flash forwards!".

But I'm not one of the complainers. Thumbs up!

I can guarantee that if they hadn't gone with flash-forwards, people would be complaining much earlier than season 5 about the flashbacks.

Didn't they announce that they are going to have a mix of flash-backs and flash-forwards?? they obviously can't ONLY have flash-forwards if only 6 people got off the island.

Also, I think we're going to eventually reach up to Jack and Kate's meeting at the airport before the series is over. I feel like the flash-forwards are going to be culminating to that point and once we reach that point, the next (and probably final) chapter will start.

By the way, did anyone see the "special Oceanic 815" message during Eli Stone? It almost made me want to watch the show, but I went to bed and didn't see it.

I think there are only 6 who actually get off the island. I don't think they would call it Oceanic 6 if more than that got off the island. I don't think Kate (for example) will necessarily seek fame based on the fact she is a fugitive (how she gets out of that, who knows).

It's my theory that the 6 leave on the boat at some point and then they are cut off from the island. I would imagine the secret is that there are MORE than 6 survivors. This is why Jack asked about the reveal... this is why the guy asking if there were more survivors was shocking to Hurley... this is why Hurley denied knowing Ana-Lucia...

Meaning...

Spoiler: show
Unless any non-Oceanic people (like Ben) come with them... it must be Sayid in the casket

Well
Spoiler: show
It does fit Sayid at all. Sayid doesn't seem like the type to kill himself first off. Second Jack said he was neither friend nor family and I would think Jack would have considered Sayid a friend. Also Sayid is a muslim right? Why would he have a service in a Christian church? Now I suppose it could be Ben which I could buy. I do think either Ben, Julliet or Desmond (or all three) could get off the island. They weren't on the plane so they wouldn't be part of the six. Now if it is Ben that would be something seeing Jack feeling bad for him, but it would definitely fit with why he didn't call him a friend and why Kate said why would I go to the funeral. I was thinking Michael before but if he left I think he would be part of the six.

So, apparently people have figured who Jacob is. I tried freezing the frame on my TV and you can definitely see someone's face but I just can't make it out. I'm gonna check it out on my HD tv once my familys done watching whatever they're watching.

And who do you guys think was the eye that popped up in front of Hurley?? My friends and I think it's Mikael.

Great, great premiere. Next week can't come soon enough.

The eye in Jacob's cabin looked like Desmond's to me, BTW. Who knows? :nope:

Felt like a lot was being revealed, when, in fact, nothing much really was.

Classic Lost.

I liked the pace though, loved it. These next 8 eps(?) are going to fly by.

That's how they do it! Bombard you with so much mystery you don't even notice that nothing's really happened.

The flash forwards to Hurley felt particularly redundant. I only hope all the flash forwards are as annoyingly vague and cryptic about things that happened in the past.

When you think about it though... Lost has answered most of the questions that they've posed in the short term.

There are larger mysteries like the monster or the nature of the island that they said wouldn't be answered until the end of the series but some of the things we take for granted now was that people were screaming about WHAT IS DHARMA? WHAT WAS IN THE HATCH? etc. have all been answered.

We pretty much know the nature of The Others too. And we have a good direction to look at for the monster now, the visions on the island, Jacob, etc.

I think the mystery is what drives the show. I much prefer not knowing what's going on, then getting episode after episode of the show explaining every little detail and answer to us and ruining the fun (first six eps. of S3 felt like that).

Oh, and I guess I'm slow, but who are the Freighties?

Freighties are the "Not Penny's Boat" people. I saw that term on TV Squad. They are Naomi's peeps.

So, here is, apparently, what was sitting in Jacob's cabin when Hurley looked in:

Spoiler: show

From the preview:

That's Christian Shephard, Jack's dad. It's probably just a 'vision', but it's interesting to note that the two characters there at the time, Locke and Hurley, have had no contact with Jack's dad. Hmm....

Hmm, that actually fits pretty perfectly. We probably should've guessed that actually, heh.

I find it funny that the first time a premiere isn't Jack-centric, he is still featured prominently in the flashforward.

Just watched a tv show called "LOST IN 8 MINUTES 15" and it is, indeed, all three seasons of lost compressed into 8 minutes 15 seconds. I missed so fucking much!

It makes me interested in the show again. I thought it went to a bad place but it looks like it didnt.

Well, some will argue that some of Season 2 and the first few eps of Season 3 went sour, but I don't think it hit any rough patches that were harsher than Alias's rough patches.

Makes sense as Christian was never found in his coffin, was still alive apparently in Jack's flashfoward. Also how he plays a large presence in other people's flashbacks.

He did! I hated Charlie on the show and was happy to see him go, but he did look very attractive in his appearance. Almost made me miss him. Almost.

Well... his body was never found, but he wasn't still alive in Jack's flashforward. He was never shown and he was only mentioned to throw people off. I'm pretty sure this was just another monster-induced vision; the interesting part was that it was seen by someone who has no reason to see him.

Wait, didn't Sawyer see Kate's horse? Wasn't there something with Dave's slipper?

I've always thought that Christian Shepherd = Dave = Yemi = Ana Lucia (flashback) = monster = Ben's mom = manifestation of the monster. And since last season I've always pretty much assumed that those = Jacob.
