The last few seconds of the show just can't make you wait until next week.

Too bad the secondary characters haven't had much screen time, but I'm not complaining about the first two episodes. I thought they were good. I don't think Sayid has even been showed yet, right? Sun was there for like a second. Claire and Charlie had one interesting scene.

I don't think he's supposed to be extremely likeable. He's probably standoff-ish for a reason that will be explained.

It adds to my interest in the show, actually. I find myself rooting for him to be taken down a notch, but those kinds of characters have much potential. He's a prick, but he's one of the good guys, and pretty resourceful, but arrogant. Like I told Lecter, it's not a bad thing at all for him to be like he is.

Hmm. I may be the only one who likes him, lol. He's actually my favorite male character. I agree, I think he may be a little standoffish at times, but then I try and think of his characters situation -- even before the crash, he was having serious problems. With his father, for one, and we know something had to go down with his wife, and a reason why they're not married. Then, on the island, he has the pressure of being the 'leader' and the 'hero' and has to not only worry about himself, but the forty two other people on the island. It's a lot of pressure for anyone to deal with, so I think his character is reasonably irritated.

But, then again, I am biased, so who knows. You're probably more right than I am.

If there is one male character I can't stand, it'd be Charlie. I just want to throw rocks at him whenever I see him on my screen.

Walt's mom has taken the cake for most annoying character on the show. I really wanted Michael to punch her out when she was going on and on about how Walt would be better with her. I know that sounds cruel, but seriously, she is (was, is dead) a bitch.

Raft scenes were kinda slow, Jaws only spiced them up a little. It was necessary though.

The cliffhanger was evil and next weeks preview was even eviler. Can not wait.

Michael's flashbacks didn't tell anything we didn't know already about his character. You could see where they originally were going to put Sawyer's flashbacks in. The cuts and edits were a little choppy before Mike's flashbacks. I still liked them anyway though...

Kate actually did something (stealing Desmond's candy, heh) other than bore me for once.

Also, the decreased role of Charlie is a blessing, because I cannot stand him. Eesh.

Loved tonight's episode, even if the Michael flashbacks didn't really offer up anything new.

I'm waiting for Ana-Lucia to appear.

I can't believe no one has mentioned that the freaking shark had the same Darhma label(insignia, tattoo) on it that was on Desmond's jacket, the circuit breaker and all that food that Kate found. I wonder if it's a company or something.

Didn't catch that. Doesn't look like Desmond is running out of food too soon. And I assume all those tallies on the wall were how many days Desmond has been there.

Funny on how in the first season, Walt was asking his dad if there were going to be sharks. Loved the stuffed polar bear too.

I really loved this episode. I thought the raft scenes were perfect, and proved to me that I do actually like Sawyer. Their conversations were fun to listen to. For the longest time, I hated Michael, but when I came to his episode in Season 1 ("Special") on DVD, I realized it was the only episode I missed last year. I really actually grew to like him because of that episode.

I also thought the flashbacks were good. It really tied in to the episode, which is something I love whenever they do it. I also loved how they didn't give away more of the hatch business, but instead explained everything between Kate going into the hatch, and Jack arriving. Usually, I'd feel pissed that it was just an excuse to make us wait longer, but man, I really liked how they handled it.

And the ending? Awesome. I'm shocked at how much I liked this episode, but I thought everything worked. The last shot of the Others was creepy and I can't wait for next week. Glad to see Jin alive, too.

Nothing really happened (flashbacks, Kate's a fan of chocolate, sharks), but I still thought it was a great episode.

They're revealing things at a slow pace, but at least they're not jumping all over the place like last season (so far...).

Great ending. And it looks like Michelle Rodriguez's role is actually going to be pretty substantial (like, ON the island).

This was a slightly better episode than last week, if only for the reveal of The Others at the end, reminded me when this show actually used to interest me. Those were the days.

Your just a jaded tv junkie. One must take your opinions with a grain of salt. I liked the Michael/Sawyer interactions, much better then the normal Jack/Kate interactions which I usually dislike.

Also don't think anyone mentioned - Desmond asking who was sick / died on the island. Lots to wonder how did he get there, etc.

I really liked the episode. Micheal and Sawyer on the raft, interacting, was slow but patient and what was needed. It worked. And Kate stealing the candy, with the other point of views of the first episode Hatch issue. I liked the flashbacks too, though they didn't say much. It just added more development as needed.

The ending was awesome. "Others! Others! Acoychingajao Ahhh Coychanagagaa!" Jin is one of my favorite characters.

I agree with Dkmuto good episode, it's just that not much happened. I guess the pace feels so slow because of how fast they movied last episode, it wasnt as good as the first episode, but it wasnt suppose to be. Yet another awsome ending that just piles on more questions and starts a new plot.

Yeah, it's a big improvement over last week, and restores my faith that this season could be just as good as last season and live up to expectations. Personally I thought the rate at which they were revealing things was fine, and even though Michael's flashbacks didn't have some big twist, I still thought they were great. They served well to remind us just how much he cares about his son, and knowing that he willingly gave up on the case just adds to how heartbreaking his situation was. And y'know, as for the hatch, I found it all extremely compelling material, and gives me the impression we could really get some solid answers and not just more teases.

Good episode, though I found Michael's flashbacks to be the most boring flashback's yet in this series, I don't care about his little custody battle and frankly Michael has become my least favorite of the castaways with his constant complaining. I liked last week's episode better but this episode was still good. The series has made up for what I thought was a lame finale last season and is back on track.

Look to the cookie! Michael and Sawyer on the raft was well done, though for some reason it seemed blatantly obvious they were in a tank not on a sea but it doesn't matter. The others at the end led me to speculate that the guy down the hatch is hiding from the roaming bands of zombie types we saw. Perhaps the water on the island is contaminated? It would explain a few things.

I had a different reaction to the Kate candy scene, I didn't find it funny, I found it cool that they ackknowledged that she hadn't eaten in a long time and was starving. That plus Sawyer's wound being treated like a real wound and not like most shows and movies where people get shot and are back to normal in 5 minutes, I loved all that sorta-realism.

Did anyone else get the sense that Desmond didn't recognize Jack?

Yeah, seemed more like Jack recognized Desmond. When Desmond fired, was it just a coincidence that he hit the vent Kate was hiding behind?

Jack seemed to take a quick double look then they didn't mention it again.

On the bolded part above - I mentioned above > Desmond asking who was sick / died on the island. There is something there. He is split/removed from the group in that area. But why and how?

Just saw it.

Unfortunately, I can't join in in the lovefest for this episode. I feel that I've been cheated on a bit, heh. They actually managed to spend half of the epiosde inside of the hatch simply retelling what happened last time from a different perspective without telling us anything relevant. Michael's backstory was pretty lacking. What I enjoyed were the dynamics of Michael and Sawyer on the raft and the great last minute, hehe. Overall a very average episode, though.
Looks like the next epiosde will finally spice up things, thoough.

Personally, I enjoyed that. I didn't feel that it was a different perspective, I thought it was much more in-depth and detailed.

I just saw it as well.

Good episode overall even though the plot didn't advance a whole bunch (next week it definitely will). The hatch stuff was interesting and I loved the interaction between Sawyer (my favorite character besides Locke) and Michael on the raft ("What are you going to do? Splash me?"). Hilarious. The flashbacks were interesting but not really essential- little Walt was adorable as usual though. I got a little teary-eyed when he had to say goodbye to him and when Michael was crying. That last shot of the Others...freaky!!!

Next episode looks AWESOME.

I agree. Sure, they were cheating us out of answers for a week, but it was still better than not giving us ANYTHING new whatsoever.

Lecter is right though, I mean I cant see how anyone can say this episode was as good or close to as good as the first. I mean the episode sorta did rehash a bunch of things we saw last week, going from another persons perspective didnt really add anything interesting.
