[font=century gothic]Last year I think they established that Scranton was the third worst in sales out of the four divisions, so from a plot standpoint, I guess it makes sense. What doesn't make sense (At least to me) is what happens to Michael? I also wouldn't buy into the fact that Pam would go to Stamford either if that were to happen. I know they've made up somewhat with that one phone call, but that's not much.
From a series standpoint though, I think they're taking a big risk if this is true. Viewers are used to the way things are now in terms of the setting, so changing it up all of a sudden might not be the best idea. I know they had to merge the two at some point, but I think it should've been the other way around, although it doesn't keep in line with the Season 2 plotline.
I'm done rambling now.[/font]

Well, Stamford boss (whose name I can't remember) told Michael he'd find a place for him if they ended up merging.
I bet they make it seem like Stamford will be the one staying open for an episode or two, but in the end something happens and they all move to Scranton.
(My totally awesome spec: Dwight burns down the Stamford branch for Michael.)

I posted a publicity interview that Carell did in the middle of page 5 that should give you a better sense of where things are heading.

Do they take any questions seriously?

Well, as I posted on the last page, [spoil]somthing happens that causes the Stamford and Scranton branches to merge for the super-sized episode on Nov. 16.[/spoil]

Yes he answers some questions seriously and some jokingly.
If you want my totally speculative opinion, Josh is the one who is going to go but I really don't know why or how, just seems most likely.
Jenna posted on her blog today that this upcoming episode is about[spoil] Michael and Dwight heading to NY to try to stop the proposed closing. [/spoil]That sounds hilarious to me. In the promo, the bit with him rolling on the ground saying nobody likes me was classic.
Also a headsup to you guys:

I loved tonight's episode.
And Michael's comment to Karen next week is pitch-perfect.

Great episode. Carell has earned a comedy emmy several times this season so far, especially tonight.
To the extended version with more scenes, go to nbc.com, click on the video tab, click on launch the video player, then choose the office, then episodes. It is a little confusing to find it but it's there and worth it.

Same thoughts as everyone else.
Archie, are the additional scenes really worth it? As good as the episode was, I don't know if I want to watch it again so soon. Maybe I'll wait for it on DVD, assuming they include the "producer's cut".

Thing is I didn't see the regular version, my tv went goofy and I ended up having to watch the producer's cut to see it at all.
If you already saw the broadcast version you would probably find it boring to see the producer cut -- which is also the itunes version by the way.
The main difference is based on what friends told me about the broadcast version, in the cut I saw there was a lot more Creed and Meredith and some different talking heads and stuff like that, and a few extra quips.
The short version answer is: don't worry about it, you didn't miss anything critical as far as I'm aware of.

I may watch, just for the heck of it.
As far as I can remember, Creed and Meredith didn't say a word in the regular version.

They don't let people outside the US access the longer version for now, it's silly for it to be like that so it might change. And I've been told Canadians don't have the same itunes download options for tv shows that the US does. But there's so many Canadian fans maybe someone found a workaround.

Clever ad for NBC:

Preview clip for tonight:

I don't watch those myself though as the show is short enough already.

had its moments ...... excellent moments ... but on the whole, i didn't feel it. i think its cause things got a bit diluted with everyone together. i'm glad the fat guy got fired. i'd rather they just focus on the 3 main people from the other branch.
