Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Needed a litle time to get back on track but had some great moments. Barney going through a full customer advice for buying a tv just to destroy it was fantastic

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
As is often the case, everything Barney did in the last episode was amazing. I loved him purchasing the plasma TV only to smash it as well as his Feelings Hour in Lily's class. Also, my heart broke for him at the end when it became clear Robin wasn't going to recognize his feelings and he'll stay silent for the time being. It reminds me a lot when Joey had a crush on Rachel on Friends, except Barney and Robin have better chemistry as "more than friends" than those two did.
Marshall's storyline was goofy but funny. Although I could've done without the annoying "guest" appearances from Speidi and the Kardashian disaster on the magazine covers.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
The attempt at turning "reading a magazine" into a buzzy catch phrase for pooping was annoying. It didn't even make sense; close friends sitting around talking about nothing don't need euphanisms for going to the bathroom. For a while I, like Barney, thought they were talking about masturbation.

Also, I found it so refreshing and wonderful that Ted not only figured out Barney's love for Robin but was totally cool with it. Sometimes this show is broadly played, yes, but you get the sense these characters really care for each other.

I'm so into Barney/Robin. I haven't been this into a potential TV hook-up since Wilson and House.

Also future dad is one hell of a guy, telling his teenage son and daughter all about the casual sex in this episode to solve problems or about Barney using violence as a release for his anger.

I don't recall hearing Future Ted narrating in last night's episode. Anyway, I'm sure that he "edited." Not that we should really be wondering because it's a TV show but yeah. Anyway, the episode last night got HIMYM's best ratings in viewers since February 2006 and was the highest-rated ever in the demo.

And you are right, someone probably decided not to show the kids in the beginning but they didn't change the opening line..

I don't remember seeing them at all this season.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
They don't shoot the kids anymore, and haven't for a few years. The only use old stock footage in the rare case when we do see them. Although, apparently, they've shot some big 'revelation' thing to use when they finally reveal the mother.

I thought they showed the kids in a couple of the episodes about Stella? I remember one in which as a gag the kids were blonde, because Stella is blonde. I hope they filmed a lot of extra footage with them early on.

Why the fuck did they have to cameo Spiedi on the magazine cover. Omg they will never die.
I loved the Lily/Barney kindergarden scene.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
Per EW, Laura Prepon (Donna of That '70s Show) has signed on for 5 episodes: Michael Ausiello wrote: Maybe this time we're really going to meet the mother on How I Met Your Mother: That '70s Show leading lady Laura Prepon has signed on to play Ted's once (and future) girlfriend in five episodes, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Mind you, if the October Road escapee's character, Karen, does turn out to be our hero's future missus, she'll be a far cry from Sarah Chalke's Little Miss Perfect. Prepon's alter ego -- Ted's squeeze through high school, college and then some -- is said to be as snooty as she is beautiful, and notorious for cheating on her lovers to avoid having to explain why she's dumping them.
Thoughts? Mine are 1) This for sure sounds like a fun character for Prepon, 2) She'll fit right in with the Mother gang, and 3) Okay, now I've lost count. So spill: Would you love it or hate it if the show was pulling a fast one and Prepon was the Mother-to-be? Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 4
This series is going to be on for 3+ more years most likely. They all got raises and extended their 7 year contracts by a year recently. So I don't think they'll be revealing the mother anytime soon.

So...once I'm done with all my upcoming exams, I'm starting this show. I just found out that a friend of mine owns the first three seasons...I'll borrow 'em.
Normally, it's not my kind of a series, but all reactions I keep hearing are overwhelmingly good.

Aw. What a sweet episode! Lily and Marshall make me happy.
Loved the continued Marshall/Robin bonding.
Ted and Barney cracked me up too ("You know what would be an awesome name for a bar? PUZZLES! Because then people would say, Why is it called Puzzles? And *that's* the puzzle!")

Not a big deal but you can't bring bottles like that on a plane since 9/11.
Have to watch it again, as I was distracted with a phone call.

Great episode last night, my favorite of the season so far. It was actually laughed out loud which is rare when I watch this show. Plus Lily/Marshall were really sweet.
