YAAAAY They are! No wonder the name "Miss Alli" sounded familiar. I've read her Amazing Race recaps. Long live the snarks!

Well, I would have been more bummed if they hadn't completely telegraphed Steph's departure all throughout tonight's episode. Gratuitous amounts of close-ups on her (especially during the immunity challenge), a lot of time spent on her letter from home and the biggest giveaway was the misdirection of the strategy segment where Katie was bringing up Tom's name.
Too bad. Steph was definitely one of the greatest survivor contestants in the show's history. It's just unfortunate that she was done in by that new format they adopted.
I guess my hopes are with Ian now.

I tried to tape it and missed it because of the presidential address. Can someone tell me what the challenges were and explain exactly why Steph's all-girl alliance didn't work? I had a feeling either Jenn or Katie wouldn't stick to it, but which of the two betrayed her?)

Reward challenge was not really a challenge, they all got $500 to use in an auction.
Immunity was to try to throw canteloupes (or something?) to knock out glass panels representing a select color each one of them had, first to 5 wins. Ian had 4 and Tom accidentally did his in, so Ian won immunity.
The all-girl alliance didn't work because Katie suggested it to Caryn who in turn went back to Tom, so Katie and Jen decided to just vote with the rest of the tribe rather than try to vote Tom out, which led to the demise of Steph.

Steph should've allied with Gregg and tried to break up Ian and Tom, then allied with Caryn to take on the stupid girls. But oh well...

THANK YOU! He's been doing that for the majority of the Survivors now, and I still get annoyed by it. He even does it during the live vote for the million, if there's like 3 to 1, he'll say "And the winner is...". That's the only thing I don't like about him.

I wasn't either, and then I got caught up in that stupid Steph craze. I liked her, and it was sucky to see her go, but I've wanted Tom to win since day one. If he does, I'll have renewed faith in this show. If Katy, Jenn, Caryn, or Gregg win, I may shoot the television. God, I REALLY hate Katy, Jenn and Gregg. Caryn is iffy. If she wins, I'll be pissed, but I hate her the least of those four. If that's the final four, I'd much rather watch three hours of Survivor: Africa than the finale.

Actually the music gives it away before he even says that.

True, but at least it gave it more drama if he just revealed the card, without saying it first. Him saying it first only adds insult to injury.

Steph's popularity rating at the CBS website is at 95%. That's tied with Rupert.

I used to be mad about the music and Jeff spoiling the last vote and then I thought about it. It's only 1-second and without it, it would be pretty non-dramatic.

I too was bummed that she was gone. She is my fave contestant this season and I just look forward to the tribe now cannibilaizing themselves.

Should be a good episode tomorrow night. Now we get to watch the rattlesnakes eat themselves.

Katy, Gregg, Jenn and Caryn final four will be the worst final four in history, and I can see it happening. Tom and Ian will have to win immunities to stay alive, and I think one of those two are gone tomorrow night. It's going to suck, but that always happens. The favorites never go all the way, but there's no one of those four that I want anywhere near the final four. If they make it (all of them), then I probably will not watch the last episode.

I agree... I smell a very bad final 4 and winner on the horizon. Somebody like Katy or Caryn will probably win the whole thing.
This has been an odd Survivor season. The first 8 weeks (or so) were really boring to me, then it got kind of interesting the last few weeks (when Steph was alone and then merged), but I have a feeling it's going to get real stupid again the last few weeks.
Overall, I still say it's been a turd of a season.
On another note did anybody get the Season 2 (Australian) DVD box set? It looked kind of interesting to me. Has commentaries with Jeff and Colby amoung others + some other neat extras. I hadn't bought any of the previous box sets, but might pick this one up as it was one of the best seasons.

On Survivor: Palau, unless Tom and/or Ian are in the final four, it's going to suck. If Katy wins... argh, I may stop watching altogether. And that doesn't even make sense to do that!! She's just so hateful. That annoying, outspoken one in school, who thinks she's well-liked in her little group of friends, when all they do is cling to her as some leader. ... I seem to have went too far.
As for the DVD, I'll be getting it. I already got the first two, and they're great, for the most part. Jeff is great on the first season commentaries, but doesn't even do any for the All-Stars. He and Colby supposedly are good friends, so commentaries should be interesting.

I seriously doubt it, Gregg is tight with Tom and Ian (at least for the next week or two), so I'm guessing Caryn will probably be the next to go, she's easy to toss.

I don't think Katie is all that bad. She is a little outspoken, but she can also be funny and knows what's actually up a lot of the time.
Caryn and Jenn winning would be worse, because Caryn just sucks and Jenn doesn't do anything.

I dunno. I'm getting a feeling that Tom's the next to go. Hopefully then Katie and Jenn.

Yeah, it always seems that someone is going (like, last week you'd figure Caryn is going now, but she probably won't) and they end up staying a while. I just feel that they're going to see Tom and Ian as the biggest threats, especially Tom. Let me rephrase: if Gregg, Jenn and Katy are the final three, I'll be quite unhappy.

YES! If all goes well, Jenn waves bye-bye next week (all girls alliance? God, I hope not). I don't care, Gregg going was a season highlight for me. I hate that guy so much. Now, if only Tom would win the game! This show has been doing a flip-flop with good and bad all season. I would never rank this show in a good ranking, but it's not quite as bad as the awful Thailand or the boring Africa.

Great episode! Hopefully Jenn and Katie are the next to go. Cayrn is the bomb, though.
