Thanks X, I hadn't seen that. It's surprisingly readable and full of fun little tidbits. I saw her recently on some late night show (I think it was Carson Daly but not sure, I don't think I could pick Carson out of a lineup) and she was much more like I had originally expected. Obviously not like the character but also not like that time on Conan either.

One thing that surprised me about the blog is she writes as if she's some suburban housewive on a 25k income. Like being jealous of Rainn getting a video ipod, as if she couldn't walk out and by 25 of them right now without blinking.

Hilarious episode. I love Dwight.

The drug test one. I love the show to death but it was not one of the better episodes. A little too breezy or something, just wasn't up to their usual high standard. But still better than most shows are at their best, so I'm not complaining much. The highpoint was Kevin asking for a magazine for the urine test.

Last week I saw the Chilis one for the first time, that was a classic.

Pretty good episode. An annoying (to his co-workers) Dwight is always fun to see.

Archie, that episode ("The Dundies") is one of my favorites. That aired as the season 2 premiere, and confirmed my belief that the show was as good as I thought it was during the brief first season of six episodes.

Is next week's episode the one written by Ricky Gervais? The season finale (May 11th) is written by Steve Carell, and since this is the only other Season 2 episode, I assume it has to be.

Was it me or did Jenna seem almost like she wasn't playing Pam. She was cheery through the whole thing whereas Pam was always a little drab and tired. But maybe that was part of the arc of the character falling in love or something. I dunno, something seemed off.

I'm just glad Carell is still doing this show, I was concerned he'd bolt the show for a big screen career after 40 yr became a hit. He has really gotten into that character of Michael and doing a great job.

Yeah, Pam did seem a bit off. Not off, exactly, but the Pam/Jim relationship right now is supposed to be strained, isn't it? It's difficult to remember since there were all the repeats, but didn't Jim like just tell her that he's going to Australia instead of her wedding? Why are they being so playful with each other? But it's ok, because I like the two of them like that.

If anyone hears a release date for this season on DVD, please post it.

I'll take a guess that it'll be late August/early September, so that the fans and other potential viewers get to see Season 2 before Season 3 airs.

Since my husband is a horror-film director, he keeps telling the press that the season ends with Jim cutting off Pam’s head.

From J. Fischer's blog.

That would be a great finale.

I notice that tonight's episode is written by series creator (the US version, obviously) Greg Daniels, and next week's episode is supposedly written by Steve Carell. What happened to the Ricky Gervais episode? Is that coming next season?

No way! Jenna Fischer is married to James Gunn? I wondered what she was doing in Slither...

Yes way. And I saw her on a talk show, Carson Daly (god I hate saying that, sounds too much like Earl), with Tarantino where QT told her that he had been the one who tried to get attention for one of her husband's movies that impressed him. They then started talking and got along well, it wouldn't shock me if some day she had a bit part in a QT movie.

Her husband wrote the script for the Dawn of the Dead remake that went down pretty well with audiences a year or so ago.

Odd episode. Pam seems pissed at the end.

I liked the funny final shot in the storage room, reminded me of Raiders of the Lost Ark's ending.

In hindsight I was too nitpicky last week, that drug episode was better than I gave it credit for.

That would have been a solid season finale (I think it was meant to be), but we still got one left. I think it's good that they added something that put a damper on the relationship between Jim and Pam.

So I finally checked out the myspace blogs others posted about. There's one by the actor who plays Kevin and one by Roy and Angela and Pam. They are all mostly pretty boring and not updated often it seems so it's probably not something I'll check regularly (and in general I don't understand myspace, it looks like a confusing mess). But the last line of this blog cracked me up. It was like something someone would have posted in our own Lost thread.

Grant Grant is James Gunn!!! Ohmigod, ohmigod, ohmigod...

You'll notice Society's in his list of favourite films. Should it fail to make the WOKJ top 50 horror flicks, well, that would be most embarrassing.

Edit: Also, I may have mentioned this once already, but it's incredibly awesome that Jenna Fischer's favourite films include The Princess Bride and Edward Scissorhands. My two favourite films of all time.

Clearly we are meant to be wed.

So what do you all think will happen in the finale? Post your guesses.

It wouldn't totally shock me if Michael found some way to get himself fired.

Well, Jim can't leave. So something has to happen there. Maybe Pam breaks up with Roy?

I think tha'ts the most common expectation and JF has said that nobody has guessed what will happen, so I doubt that will happen. At least in that episode.

My guess is there'll be a revelation that puts pressure on Jim and Pam (which wouldn't be wise, in my opinion. I've really loved the lowkey way the show's approached their romance so far), and yeah, maybe something involving Michael getting fired.

I kinda hope they don't go down the road of cliffhangers though. The show's struck a terrific balance of character and concept at the moment. It rarely ventures down the road of soap opera (like a few other sitcoms), instead sticking to the initial docu-drama agenda that lends occasional glimpses into character arcs without straying too far from the initial objective.

If this show doesn't get an Emmy nomination for Best Comedy, I'm going to cry.

If I made a list of my five favorite episodes thus far, tonight's finale would be up there.

The Pam/Jim stuff reminded me of the final scenes in the BBC finale.
