Finished today. The last episode was fantastic overall, lots of really wonderful, tearjerking moments, and it definitely felt like a true ending to the series in a way that the seventh season finale did not. I still don't know how I feel about the "last four words," but they do make sense in a way of bringing the entire series full circle.

I honestly loved the ending, it really brought everything full circle and I feel like it works better now than it would have nearly a decade ago.

SPOILERS....

Rewatching it only makes me enjoy it more. The baby is obviously Logan's, who is essentially Rory's Christopher. The conversation she has with her dad makes it all the more heartbreaking because it pretty much says she's going to raise the baby alone. I wouldn't even think she bothers even telling Logan. He's getting married and she seems by the end of her talk with Christopher, she seems content on raising the baby alone.

I still don't understand why Emily wasn't at the wedding, though.

I'm perfectly fine with this being the end. I don't want another mediocre ending season like season 7. I thought it was nearly perfect.

I thought this summed up the show quite nicely, much better than the shitty disaster that was Season 7 ("Series") finale. Logan became Rory's Christopher and it was nicely hinted that somewhere down the road Jess (Jess haters go choke on a disco stick pls) will be her Luke. For the world of Gilmore Girls it makes all the sense, especially as Rory's writing the book is effectively confronting her with the past in order to accept the future.

But these 4 movies were all over the place. Summer was the best of the bunch by far, the rest were mostly boring, with too forced guest roles (I only liked Carole King's appearance, it was the only funny one or interesting one to warrant a come back to the show, unlike Sookie's or Jackson's), oddly meh current pop culture references (the classic ones worked for the most part) and some really bad production values.

Overall I'm glad the show got a decent ending. But these could've been much better.

P.S. Kelly Bishop stole the show as usual.

I probably would have given it a B+ overall if it weren't for "Fall." There were a lot of hit and miss moments throughout (the whole Stars Hollow play took up too much time) but "Fall" was WONDERFUL! So many great moments. The wedding sequence made me cry and was incredibly beautiful. Sue me but I'll welcome more Gilmore Girls if they decide to continue. I just hate leaving them for good. Love these characters. I feel like they are a part of me. This is so much more than just a show to me. :wub2: :wub2: :wub2:
