 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
Getting rid of the Bronie family next season may persuade me to watch next season. Dana is probably the worst teen character since AJ Soprano.
Even with the death of Brody, I heard most of this season's episodes were pretty bad which is why it has been completely missing from every critic's list so it may be too late to redeem the show.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
The last few episodes of the season were incredible. Critics were really too hard on this season. When viewed altogether I think it's going to be more respected. In terms of the narrative it tied everything together beautifully by the end.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
I'm sorry but critics weren't too hard on this season at all. The last couple episodes were great, I agree and there were two or three good episodes sprinkled throughout but it was a total mixed bag. This is the best decision they could have made.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
Finally saw the finale. I applaud the show's decision to kill off Brody. For Homeland to keep going in any way that makes sense, this needed to happen. It's a shame in the sense that Damian Lewis gave an electric performance and that his chemistry with Claire Danes was nuts.
But it was all very well done and poignant. I loved the quiet ending with Carrie drawing her own star on the wall. And it'll be really interesting to see where they go from here with this reboot. Carrie in Istanbul could be fascinating.

Great finale to a mediocre season.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
That was a fucking fantastic season finale and one of the best I've ever seen. It was devastating. As much as I dislike that Damian Lewis is gone now, they handled Brodys death so so well. I won't get those images anytime soon out of my head. Ending scene was also pitch-perfect. The whole episode actually felt so much like a series finale. And I think it should be.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
It was a perfect closer to the Brody storyline, IMO. I can't stop thinking about the last Carrie scene. It was so perfectly done and moving.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
It definately was, but at least for me, the Carrie & Brody relationship was the heart of the show. I liked S3 overall but it was at it's best during Tower of David and when Brody finally returned. Without him, the show is ok but feels way less significant. I do hope I'm getting all surprised next year when Season 4 proves me wrong. But right now I keep thinking this should have been the series finale.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
I am at episode 6 of the third season now. Is this going to get any better. After one great and one good season this has gone quickly to downright insufferable in season 3. The Brody family's subplot is retarded, Brody's scenes in Venezuela were mind-numbingly boring and the main terrorism plot just crawls and crawls.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
Some critics have been positive about Season 4 and Season 5 but it's in more of a just another show way like Billions

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
Seasons 4 and 5 are absolutely fantastic, especially season 4. And it got back in the Best Drama Emmy nominations last year for that season so it's clearly still in the conversation.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
But then again, reading back in these thread, you found some episodes of S3 fantastic that I thought were dreadful.

 Re: "Homeland" (Season 3)
And if you go through the thread for season 4 you'll see plenty of people who almost dropped this show praising how much of a return to form it had.
