Michelle Lujan Grisham is the best strategic choice in terms of helping Biden gain votes. Kamala Harris is the best strategic choice in terms of helping Kanye West gain votes.

I feel Warren would be the best pick because it would be one of the only ways to save the Berniebros votes. But they seem likely to pick a black woman.

I think they were possibly going to pick Bass but now that Castro sympathizing comments have come out they’re getting cold feet. So I would say Harris.

Biden is such a mess that they don’t even want him giving a speech at the Democrat convention. I doubt he debates.

You're being swallowed up by fake information. Unplug!

Quote:
DNCC: "After ongoing consultation with public health officials and experts—who underscored the worsening coronavirus pandemic—the Democratic National Convention Committee announced today speakers for the 2020 Democratic National Convention will no longer travel to Milwaukee ..."

DNCC: "In accordance with this guidance, Vice President Joe Biden will no longer travel to Milwaukee and will instead address the nation and accept the Democratic nomination from his home state of Delaware."

Another comment showing he thinks all black people think the same

Hmm

Harris is sometimes a little too all-over-the-place on issues for my liking. But I think she is a bright and likable person and has been vetted and known to most voters in the primary.

Rice is not as well-known to the general voter and has been portrayed as a villain to the Fox News-watching circle. But she has experience in foreign policy and looks composed in interviews.

I am interested in hearing more about Grisham and Demings but is it too late to build a profile?

I don't find Harris likable at all. She comes across too full of herself (not as bad as Trump, but few are). I think the best of those listed to actually do the job would be Warren. But she's white and old, so it probably wouldn't help him to pick her.

Kamala seems too ambitious and would be looking to be President on Day One.

He shouldn’t have announced months ahead of time he was picking a woman, closed some doors unnecessarily. At the end of the day he might have been safer with Cory Booker or something. He’s no less of a politician than Kamala, but women in politics like all authority tend to attract much more haters. The same people who hated Skyler in Breaking Bad would probably be trigged by Kamala’s bossy-ish personality. The top three black female candidates Harris, Susan Rice and Karen Bass all have major negatives imo. If he wants to make a “safe” choice that isn’t a risk to his campaign, he shouldn’t take any of them.

Isn't that a plus? VP should expect to be President on demand.

In the eye of the beholder. I like that she can look casual when she talks, without the politician speak. She is personable. I don't like it when she makes provocative suggestions out of nowhere like banning Trump from Twitter (though I think Trump steps out of line when he uses Twitter to disseminate government information and bans some critics from viewing his account).

At least Biden has put some thought into who he's picking. Whoever it is, I just have to hope they are as capable as he believes. On the issue of whether or not he should have announced so early he would pick a woman, I'm torn. On one hand, limiting your picks like that could potentially eliminate the best candidate without consideration. On the other, it's long overdue and should have happened by now. Being the first time might give people a sense of moving in the right direction and unite us a bit.

Trump keeps sowing division, distrust in US democracy, and blaming everyone but himself. Really tired of this. I think we need someone who is competent, calm, willing to listen and work towards a solution.

The Democrats blocking coronavirus stimulus bill cause they want to include shit that has nothing to do with it like removing voter ID/signatures, adding ballot harvesting and universal mail in votes, bailing out blue states that were damaged during the riots, releasing illegal aliens, is such a bad look for them. They let Trump look like the good guy by signing the EOs to get the covid relief through, and puts them in an awkward spot of looking like they’re blocking covid relief if they try to stop them in court.

It shouldn’t be hard for coronavirus stimulus bills to only be about coronavirus. But politicians like Pelosi can’t stop playing political games. They are only out for themselves.

:er: Obviously it's the leaders/negotiators of both parties that are to blame for failing to reach an agreement. That's what an agreement is.

Also, I do not believe promising to make payroll tax cuts (Social Security) permanent if reelected is a good look, dude.

And when you have a White House "adviser" saying, "I 'think' that what he (Trump) was saying, or meant...", undermines the position entirely. Do we really believe anyone is advising him, really? Trump needs to sign an order to rename the position White House Damage Controller.

To me, it is likely Senate McConnell works with Trump to sabotage any possible deals with the House, so Trump can take the megaphone and credit himself in front of cameras. It is a little too obvious.

I thought it would be Harris until they released the DNC convention schedule this morning and she had a slot and "unannounced Vice President pick" did. But I guess the schedule makers wouldn't have known by that point.

Kamala is fine. I like Warren more but we’ve already established she should be the nominee over Biden so whatevers.

The Vice President doesn’t really do anything anyways.

Post Re: Democratic Primary: Biden/Harris 2020
The only thing Biden had going for him is he attracted less heat than Hillary. Harris erases that. Like Hillary she screams inauthenticity and politician who will change her beliefs to whatever it takes to get elected, which both energizes the Republican base and turns off the Bernie voters. She trigger the misogynists who don’t like “bossy" women, and allows them to make Bill/Monica style jokes about her and Willie Brown. She also brings in Trump’s old friend birtherism.

While just a VP, between Biden hiding in his basement and Kamala having a domineering personality, and the media’s likelihood to favour the black woman instead of old white man in this landscape, could lead her to be put front and center.
