The latest result has Buttigieg ahead of Biden by 0.2% in popular vote. It's still a bounce for Biden from New Hampshire and Iowa. But Buttigieg has more room to grow with his low name recognition. Final alignment vote (50% in): Sanders 21,864 (39.94%) Buttigieg 10,046 (18.35%) Biden 9,921 (18.12%) Warren 6,633 (12.12%) Klobuchar 4,179 (7.63%) Steyer 1,864 (3.4%) County delegates: Sanders: 46.6% Biden: 19.2% Buttigieg: 15.4% Warren: 10.3% Klobuchar: 4.5% Steyer: 3.8% https://elections.ap.org/dailykos/results/2020-02-22/state/NV

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Bloomberg has his own cheering section in South Carolina tonight. The most basic responses are generating huge reactions out of them.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
I thought Amy did the most with the opportunities she got, without lowering herself by participating in the annoying shouting matches that riddled this poorly moderated debate. I can respect that. Pete probably did the best overall. Ultimately I don't think this debate will really help undecided voters choose though. Thank you CBS for a crap debate one week before 1/3 of the country votes.

Bloomberg is a hack that clearly had some members of the crowd in his pocket. He said he bought politicians, and it's clear that he is trying to buy support.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Warren hammering Bloomberg over the “kill it” comment was probably the worst moment of her campaign. She was supposed to be the level-headed Bernie, but on the brink of elimination she turns the debate into Jerry Springer. She even made Bloomberg seem kinda sympathetic for half a minute before his goons in the crowd started booing everybody. From that point on (almost) everybody just started shouting at each other. Joe had a great moment with his “you spoke over time and I’m gonna talk line” and Buttigieg did his best to seem like the friendly alternative to the extreme ends of the spectrum the parties have gone - but it was a bad look for the democratic party overall.
Bloomberg sure makes these more entertaining though.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Sanders is reasonable and level-headed on the importance of US allies and use of military to defend American people.
I haven't seen the latest debate. But sometimes Sanders makes the mistake of being too real and specific. Typical politicians want to make you feel good about yourselves and talk about how great the country has come to be; they do not dwell on the side of reality and objective worldview. Bernie is not typical in that sense. Strategy wise, he should use more hopeful language. He can do things unnoticed through executive actions and behind the scenes when he is president like most typical politicians do. He does not need to talk about them now.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Big win for Biden in South Carolina, perhaps winning with 50% or higher and as much as 35 points. Pretty crazy margin given the number of candidates in the race. His win looks so big, in fact, that Sanders might be the only other candidate that finishes above 15% in order to win any delegates tonight. And Sanders is hovering just above that 15% threshold (currently below as of this post), so he could miss it.
Let's see if anyone drops out tonight or over the weekend.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Steyer is dropping out. I don't necessarily think his endorsement will help any particular candidate, but his name being off the ballot "should" help Biden a tiny bit.
And at least Steyer seems committed to helping whomever the candidate is, and by helping defeat Lindsey Graham.

He barely registers in most polls. Amy has a chance to win Minnesota on Tuesday. Ditto for Warren in Mass. Win or lose though, both should drop out after Tues. Sanders is too far ahead of Warren, and Amy doesn't have wide enough support. For Pete, I think it comes down to how many delegates he can snag Tuesday. Realistically, he should probably drop out, but it would be nice to have a moderate option other than Biden. I wonder if Tulsi will officially drop out. Not that it would have any impact.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Also, I think Bloomberg will drop out after Tuesday, especially if Biden is competitive in delegates with Sanders when the dust settles.
And apparently Gabbard has said she's going all the way to the convention no matter what.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
I can see how the Biden of the last two debates brought some people back in, he looked pretty energetic and aggressive. Bernie needs to clean up Cali and Texas and have a big lead cause if Bloomberg, Klobuchar and Buttigieg are done by Wednesday that looks good for Biden. If the margin is only 30% Sanders 20% Biden in California and Texas Biden might be able to overcome that.

Though it makes me wonder, if Kamala could have saved her excellent performance from the first debate till last week, does she win South Carolina? Definitely peaked way too early.

She seems like a people person which is a big plus in elections.

Pete Buttigieg is ending his presidential campaign.
This should help Biden and Warren the most.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Yeah, ranked choice voting is the way to go. I would also do a nationwide run-off election between the top two candidates if I had the say. This would give the eventual nominee a lot more legitimacy from the people and help unite the party.

 Re: Democratic Primary 2020
Maybe Biden offered Buttigieg VP or a cabinet position. Buttigieg is definitely helping him out with this. Klobuchar probably would've been a good soldier too but they need her to win Minnesota.
