 Re: Florida Primary
And all states are assigning proportional delegates on the Dem side, unlike winner-take-all for Rep.
Kennedy's endorsement did have a small effect. 25% said his endorsement is very important, and 58% of them went for Obama. That may have helped to keep Hilary's vote below 50%.
Look like McCain is winning for sure. The exit polls have him winning among males, females, and every age group except for 30-44. They're all within margin of error, but it's unlikely all of them are skewed toward one side.

 Re: Florida Primary
Obama is going to have problems in the bigger, more diverse states like Flordia. CNN did a calculation on how he performed in SC (very well all around) and it showed that he wouldn't get more than 1/3 of the total vote on FEB 5th. He really needs to play more to the Whites and Hispanics. He isn't going to win unless he can make significant dents here in the bigger states.

McCain's bagged it. Congratulations, we finally have an inevitable nominee. Who would've thought the Republicans would find theirs first?
Democratic results: Clinton 0 Obama 0 Edwards 0 Kucinich 0
No delegates. Next!

 Re: Florida Primary
Quote: (CNN)  Democratic primary voters in South Carolina who made their presidential pick in the week before voting overwhelmingly chose Barack Obama. In Florida, according to exit polls, those last-minute deciders went for Hillary Clinton.
All the major Democratic candidates had pledged not to campaign in Florida following national party sanctions that rendered the contest irrelevant to the presidential nominating process. None of the candidates have visited, except for private fundraisers, and none have advertised in the state.
But over the past few days, the Clinton campaign called for the Democratic National Committee’s decision not to seat Florida’s delegates at the party’s summer convention to be reversed; announced several major state endorsements, like U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson; and revealed plans for a major election night celebration in the state featuring a visit from Hillary Clinton herself – all factors which may have helped sway late-deciding voters. As it says near the bottom, trying to get the delegates to be counted in FL is working well for Hillary Clinton since it's a solid guess on why late-deciders in FL went her way.
EDIT: Wouldn't surprise me if this is brought up even more that Howard Dean (does he make the final decision) and the DNC to eventually cave and award FL at least some delegates. Also, what will voters think of Obama if he gets the nomination now in FL? The Republicans can easily bring up him not fighting to get their delegates counted as a weakness of somekind, and could spell doom in FL?

 Re: Florida Primary
I find it interesting to note that the total votes so far are:
Dem: 915,543 Rep: 1,090,173
That's a sizable difference considering Dems make up 41% vs 36% of the voting population.
I suppose this fact is muted by the fact that no Democratic candidates had a get out the vote movement, nor did they campaign or run ads. So I guess that explains it, but I still didn't expect it to be such a large difference.

 Re: Florida Primary
A Hillary win in Florida isn't even a symbolic victory. Not only do the delegates not count, but she's the only one who campaigned at all there, after all the Dem candidates had agreed not to.
The only reason she wants to re-instate the delegates is because she knew she was going to win the vote count. If Obama had won, do you really think she'd be making a big stink about it?
On the Rep side, I hope McCain call put this one out. If it's McCain vs Hillary, at least I get someone who's relatively principled and honest in McCain.

 Re: Florida Primary
Fox News reporting that they heard via some TIME political blog that Guiliani will drop out and endorse McCain on Wednesday from California.
They contacted McCain and Guiliani camps and neither would confirm or deny.
The only way I can see this happening is if McCain has a back door deal with Guiliani for the VP spot.

She publicly argued for Florida's delegation to be seated during the two days before voting, ostensibly as an act of goodwill, getting frequent coverage in Florida media networks. It is not a legal violation of the rules, of course. No Clinton ploys ever violate the laws, other than lying under oath.
