Hmm... Figures a Democrat would go to that extreme.

Figures a Republican wouldn't understand the metaphor.

Oh no, I understood it quite well. In fact, I probably understood it BETTER than YOU understood it.

But bringing THAT in to THIS argument was just out of left field and a stupid decision.

You know, I am on a few political boards as well, and while there are some people who certainly understand debate and are reasonable, there are also some who are, well, not so. They invariably fall back on rolling eyes icons and sighs, because they have no way to defend their arguments, either because their views are undefendable or they are just too stupid.

After a while we all start ignoring them.

Are you saying I should ignore you?

Groucho, at this point it should be quite obvious Munk-E is not only a high-schooler, but not a particularly bright one. His responses aren't much more than, "Oh yeah, YOU are" and "I know you are but what am I." There are Republicans who are actually intelligent, even if they are wrong. Munk-E isn't one of them.

Yeah, it's a pretty embarrassing affair. I wonder what stereotypes fly through others' minds when I tell them I'm an "Obama Republican" or that I went Bush in 2004. Probably one of the few first impressions that involve an IQ estimate. At least being so helped me talk myself out of a ticket in hick country. :ninja:

What are you trying to say in the above statement?

There are a lot of stereotypes about Republicans in Democratic circles. You get to see the whole gamut of them working with a Democratic campaign. That's all.

I personally would remark that I'm glad to see someone learn from their mistakes, provided you regard your vote in 2004 as a mistake (as you know I do. ;)). Surely a mark of intelligence.

Thanks. It's a real downer to have a president with no redeeming qualities. Hell, I even like Richard Nixon. For the terrible mess he made, he supported the Apollo missions, created the EPA, and opened diplomatic relations with China.

Yes, I agree, which is why I am now ignoring him...

You know that I love a good political debate with someone who can use facts and logic on their side, forcing me to work just as hard to respond. I like arguing -- it's what I do for a living, after all. It's kind of like an intellectual duel -- a battle of the brains.

However, there is no challenge and no fun to have an intellectual duel with an unarmed man. :P

I don't think this kind of thinking is doing well in Europe well at least most of Europe since most of the Continent don't go to church.

You're cool, Jim. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

I can assure you that Beeble means nobody on this board, except maybe Krem, but he is not a Republican.

I was under that impression as well, but the article is suggesting otherwise unfortunately. Creationists are not a majority by any means, but they are very vocal and they are making in roads long after most of has hoped that magic and superstition had been eliminated from science and education.
