Why was my 'BUT' topic locked?????

Its true for one. I'm making light of the box office events of recent days. It really does concern box-office debate and we know that to be true as we all do it. I think with all the other CRAP topics made in this forum/site that this one is not bad and should stay for futher comment....I want to know what the members take is on 'but',,,how they feel about all the sometimes needless debates we get into....

Move it to another forum section if you feel it doesnt fit(I feel its perfect where its at),,'BUT' dont lock it...



A topic and member like this is let go regardless if it or them offended anyone on a personal level, even if unseen(not mentioned)...

It seems hard to justify locking any thread after the Hitler spam was kept open.

Like I told you via PM, RAWSAW, I didn't lock the thread, but I didn't see a point to it, either. And, yeah, it's not really box-office related. It's a discussion on the word "but."

I can understand being heated that your thread was locked but besides that, I think KJ is great. Then again, I have a vested interest.

I think sometimes I have a future vision, hahaha... We all do the same thing in these box-office forums. We make our guesses, discuss the films, give our opinions and our rebuttals. The key in all the fun of this place is the word 'BUT'. It opens the door for all the discussion and debate. Sometimes we all take it to far but thats life and thats what I was hoping that the topic would get people discussing....Sometimes with a movie like say,,,Kong,,,its just not worth the 'BUT'. Its so in the middle everyone is right and wrong. The 'BUTs' that we throw around aren't always needed...

Its hard to run a website, a forum. I know first hand. I had more to do with MOJO's than anyone will know. That being said these are private websites in the end. The owners make the rules, have the final say. I've always thought rules had to be 'gray' and not black and white. There's always room for a little leeway with people. Sometimes things are just wrong even if technically they fall within the 'rules'. Mr Hitler is not someone you want posting at the forum, I knew that within a minute 'BUT' he was let go. I guess if he was here for months and earned some respect from everyone, I'd have taken his comments and thoughts more seriously. I believe,,no,,I know he came to start trouble... Don't get me wrong we need rules, but there more of a guideline in my book. Sometimes its just a judgement call. Sometimes its the wrong call. I see something like that (Mr. hitler), let go to stir up an argument that many, many would find offensive and then I look at what I posted and cant understand why.... I've seen threads started on catsup and mustard that were let go, so come on, give me a break. I feel I've earned many member respect over the years and if I had something to say give me a chance. I might surprise someone with what I can come up with. If the thread died than let if fall between the cracks with the other pointless ones..Don't lock it though....

I enjoy the site. Its not Mojo, its different in a good way. I like it here and I liked it there. Mojo got a little to strict, this one gets to loose at times. Hey, you make the rules. This site is a reflection of it owners, be proud of that.

You better take a long hard look at the shit you do allow in this place. Who ever didnt like the subject should have let it be and fall through the crack if everyone else found it boring. Everything else around here does. Really, you're lucky if each section gets 1 or 2 interesting topics a day 'BUT' everything else is left alone.

You're right....The problem is, right is right. There was nothing really wrong with the thread, just misplaced at worst. I dont really care its just the principle of it.

Here's a question, RAWSAW...

You make the first thread. Whoever locked it did so for a reason, even if it wasn't explained. Then, you make this thread complaining about your locked thread. You talk all about how you understand about running a website.

So, why the hell did you make the thread again? Did you not expect it to get locked like the first time? I mean, if the mods and admins thought your first one was fine, we would have unlocked it. There was no reason to make a second thread.

For a former mod, you could be a little more... mature... about the locking of your thread. If someone else made that exact thread and it was locked, I know you wouldn't be making a big deal about this at all.

I suggest the mods just stop going into Box Office Bash for a week. I don't think the Rawsaw thing was that big a deal, but taken in combination with a lot of stuff that went on, there's just too much worrying about micromanaging that place.

There was no explanation on why it was locked. He tried again, a bit expanded, and maybe this time it would be good for bo bash. But judging by your locking, guess not.

And actually maybe it is box office related. Would be weird to see it in water cooler.

No, I thought maybe it would be moved... Like it should have been. I've added some pointless links on the site to this topic if you care to look at them. I'm not a Mod here, I havent done anything wrong, my thread shouldnt have been locked. I think this is some power thing on someones part.

Dont dare talk to me about maturity or how I'd handle things. I never handled anything this way at MOJO. If I did do something to some I always gave them a p.m. to explain and give them a chance to talk to me....This is a small issue but again its the principle of it for me. I see alot of other things on this site that, judging how you (mod/admin) have handled my situation, should have been locked...I guess my thread was just over everyones head. I felt there was something there hidden under my words....Who knows,,,I'm done with this...

If you wanted the thread to be "moved," why didn't you just make it in another section instead of making the thread in the same section and hoping that it would be moved?
