Can We Stop With the Spider-Man Insulting?
I'm getting incredibly sick of people taking shots at Spider-Man every time he joins in discussions and posts in threads. It absolutely falls under the category of harrassment, and he does NOTHING to deserve this. Can we please stop with this? I don't think it's right that this is being allowed because he's just a kid. The World of KJ is supposed to be a positive, welcoming website and forum. You totally ruin that when you have people who are allowed to go around and take shots at people and get away with it because they may not be the most popular posters here. This happens to other posters as well, not just Spider-Man.
As a moderator, I'm stepping up and am going to point out any further of these offenses, and I hope the administration and the rest of the moderating staff will do something as well.
PEACE, Mike

It does happen a lot, but the majority of the time I can understand why people get frustrated with him, so you cant really say he does nothing to deserve the abuse. But on a serious note, does he have his parents permission to be on here? I'm sure theres a disclaimer or something for under 13's ?

I'm assuming he's about 11-12.

He's 14, I think. He's gotta be atleast 13, since he's going into high school this September.
And, what does he do to deserve abuse, hans? Being mis-informed on certain things or not being as intellectual as some of the other posters doesn't clasify as something that deserves abuse.

Well, he was the one who (pretty much) prompted insomniacdude's 'message to everyone.'
But, um, yeah. I'll try and stop.
(Oh, and seriously. When I read the title of this thread, I actually thought Mike was talking about Spider-Man. Yanno. I was, like, what?)

Well said Mike Q,
I will do my best to look out for it in the future, and we can discuss ways to bring it to a halt. There is no need to be harsh to him, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
If you have a problem, or believe spider-man or anyone else is spamming, the right way to handle it is not to insult or demean them, rather contact a mod, who can then contact the poster and discuss the issue corectly.

Well i have no problem with the mods telling US to stop insulting us, but please keep a look out for Spider Man and his spamming ways as well.
WE must be fair.

As I said, there are more productive ways to address that issue.

I'm all for equal posting rights and everything, even to those posters whom I downright hate, but that post (and I've seen a few other of his posts like that as well) help me understand why he's so mocked here at KJ.
Maybe if he didn't make as many posts just to seem like he was bumping his post count.

Okay, well, he does try very hard to increase his post count.
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopi ... &start=600
Here, he posted his "movies of 2005" list over again just to emphasize that he didn't see The Longest Yard, and to just change the grade of Robots, which he didn't even indicate until torrino and I commented.
And, yes, he IS a frequent poster in the quizzes of the Box Office Games and Quizzes section. But, then again, there's quite a few that post there to increase their post count. There's lots of members that do this.
I do, however, appreciate it when Spider-Man puts effort into some things for the forum. For example:
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3415
That's a damn impressive chart, and probably took a while to do. While he's not the most responsible when it comes to updating things and running games/award shows/etc, he still tries to get involved. Most of the time.

I never understood the fascination with post count.
The BO Game and Quiz forum is an informal forum, meant for fun games, small posts, and things of that nature.
There are places however where one word answers are not ... well they are useless. I will talk to Spider-man about it, but in all honesty, he is not the only poster to do it, and he is obviously not blatently spaming the forums.
He is no imtim, and his abuse is unwarranted.

I completely agree with everything you said. He's not neccessarily a bad person (I mean, his personality is the type that totally grinds against mine, but I don't hold it against him) but it seems he's just trying to be everywhere. Maybe not for post count, but for attention? I've seen it elsewhere. But when he does contribute to the forums, it's a very nice addition. His release schedule threads in the Cinemania and DVD forums are great threads. And the link you posted is a great addition too.
And fo course we're talking like we're bigger than him and he'll never read this. So goes the nature of forums.

Why are a lot of you people mean to everyone that is different? Its not right. For example me. Just because I am different some of you all think it gives you all a right to be mean to me. Remember I didn't say everyone but I will not name anyone because you already know who you are.
I mean whats he point? If everyone was the same it would be so uninteresting.

I think Spider-Man is really cool. He really doesn't mean any harm. He's a really nice guy. When people insult him, and be rude towards him, it just makes you look really immature and stupid, so please leave him alone.

Spider-Man is insulted for what he is...a 14-year old kid.
Did I make a big deal about the "Let's Point and Laugh at Zingaling" thread in the Box Office Bash? No. Mr. X is certainly not abused. Like rusty, both these two are used as jokes because they can actually handle it and they have fun with it.

No one else made a big deal about it either, why weren't the forum members there to complain about it? If the guy has a problem, he should be complaining about people taking the piss. Not other people doing it for him.

hans, grow up. You need to just leave Spider-man alone. Don't you have anything better to do with your time, then making fun a 14 year old boy? Come on now.

Well I agree with everything said for the most part. I do think that certain members are unfairly picked on, like BKB for a period of time.
Spider-Man really doesn't do anything to deserve it, except occasionally make pointless comments. Truth be told, so what? If you don't like the comments then just don't read them and move on.
Now, he does occasionally spam and that is perhaps a problem, but honestly he only rarely does that so I don't even consider that to be an issue.

When, and where did I insult Spiderman? I would like you to find me some posts of where I'm taking the piss out of him. Check you're facts before you accuse me of anything. I think you need to grow up a lot and stop assuming. Because I am trying to defend some posters who DO make fun of him does that automatically mean I make fun of him? I just lost a whole lot of respect for you.
