Tony, while I appreciate your opinion, I'm betting you'd enjoy it a lot more if you experienced a better forum environment than you have. I've always got the feeling (and I got this feeling 2 years ago) that you take offense, as if you are somehow being told you're not good enough. Our forum community was great, and yours was just a joke in comparison, and it's because of the membership.

That's not what I'm saying at all. It's not the members (the good members, like yourself) that are the problem, it's people like Rogue, who don't care and are constantly baiting and stirring negative energy. That shit has to stop. That shit wouldn't go on at a great forum community, and they definitely wouldn't declare how they don't care and nobody else should care, and 95% of the people are beneath them.

I know of forum communities where HUNDREDS of people get together every year. Where they look out for eachother, they don't look for excuses to be assholes. I never said anything to Rogue about his immature act and that whole Zingy situation, but look at him, blaming me for stirring trouble when I was posting links that made accusations against me that needed cleared up.

I, for one, think this place would be better off without that sort dragging it down. On the other hand, I think you should at least give a new way a try, you might find out that we are actually right here. I think you'd like it better.

Maverikk, please stop accusing people of bringing the negativity to boards, it's rude, it's baiting, and not many (does anyone?) agree with that. I certainly not about Shack and Rogue.

I arrived at Mojo, past the glory summer Rawsaw mentioned in his first post, but I still enjoyed me time there, and alot of good things came of my time there.

Yes, many of the forum members do not contribute to or even visit the main site, I am guilty of this. Honestly though, Kj sprung up as a forum first and main site second and that is part of problem. On top of that, I'm getting older, my priorities and interest are different, and movies/box office/etc. are less of an interest then they were doing my big days at BOM. Honestly 7/10 times I vist here, its just to check pm's.

So while I might have liked to participate in Baumer's movie trivia game or do the fim festival, it would have been very time consuming to do. Between the 3 hours a day I spend at hte gym, 2 hour commute to school, the 6-8 a day I spend at school, and a social life, contributig stuff here just comes after all of that.

My desire to do stuff online as a means of fun/enteritanment just isn't there. What keeps me coming here is talking to posters that I knew back from BOM. While starting as an offshot form BOM may have been a good way to startout with alot of active memebrs, it was likely not the best way to build a unique forum community.

I could add more of my 2 cents, but honestly, as stated above, I am not going to be a person who puts alot of time into changing things or making it better. The time when I commented and wanted to help have passed, and the time when I commented and suggested have also largely passed.

Nebs, you officially suck at your job if you honestly are going to say that to me and say nothing to Shack and Rogue, who both fired the first shot at me.

First off, what the fuck. And second, I know it's more than a movie website for some, if not many, and arguments happen everywhere, I just understand why they need to elevate to such a high level and have to last for so long, when really the original subject people are fighting over isn't that big of a deal. This sounds snobby and asshole-ish, but I think a lot of it has to do with maturity, and awareness of how much the situation really matters in the scheme of things.

Ok, boy I've been missing a lot lately. Right now the topic of interest for me is this Mav issue. I wont get into the detail of that in this thread but it brings some other things to my and hopefully everyone else's attention.

The rules, how we as members abide by them and how the Mods/Admins enforce them.


Let me let you all in on a little secret about Mojo.. I created the rules over there. Sean critiqued them. They weren't there before I became a Mod. They were needed. I saw things starting to get a little crazy and knew some basic rules were in order. As I've said else where, to me rules are never just black and white, you have to have gray.. After a while Sean didn't want any gray. He dropped the hammer, made it black and white and I couldn't stop him. That's why everyone left. That's why I left. We come here and theres rules, you cant escape them. What nice here is there's a lot of gray.

Whats got me is the way the Mods do their jobs. Yes its a job. I'm not around enough but I couldn't even tell you who the Mods are and if they're doing a good job. What I've seen in the last 2 days over this one incident tells me not really.

Theres so much work that goes into running this site. The owners and Admins never get enough credit. Its hard and they count on the Mods(even the members) to keep watch on the forum section. When something gets out of hand everyone should know when to stop or how to get things stopped. We should be watching out for our fellow members so no one needs to be banned.

My point is I think we as members need to watch how we handle ourselves a bit better.

The Mods need to do there jobs a bit better.

The rules need to be followed by all a bit better.

I might be jumping the gun but its a fun place and I don't want to see things go bad.
